第四章:懺悔55

“One night, though I was not
「一個晚上,雖然我並不
Sleepy, I entered a dream.
我進入了夢境。
I saw a large, beautiful drum
我看到一個大而美麗的鼓
Entirely of golden light.
完全由黃金光芒組成。
“It was shining like the sun
「它像太陽一樣閃耀
And completely bright,
完全光明閃爍,
Illuminating the ten directions.
照亮十方。
I saw buddhas everywhere,
我看到諸佛遍佈四處,
“Seated beneath precious trees [F.7.a]
坐在珍寶樹下
On precious beryl thrones,
坐在珍貴的吠琉璃寶座上,
Looking straight ahead in the middle
向前直視中央處
Of many hundreds of thousands of followers.
具有許多數百萬的追隨者。
“I saw someone resembling a brahmin
「我看到一個像婆羅門一樣的人
Who beat that big drum.
誰在擊打那面大鼓。
As he was beating it,
當他在敲擊它時,
There came these verses:
於是說出了這些偈頌:
“ ‘Through the sound of the great drum of sublime golden light,
「透過妙金光明的大鼓之聲,
May all the suffering of the lower existences,
願所有下道眾生的苦難,
The suffering in Yama’s realm, and the suffering of poverty
閻魔界中的苦難,以及貧窮的苦難
Cease in the three realms within this trichiliocosm.
在三千大千世界的三界中消除。
“ ‘Through the sound and words of the great drum,
「透過大鼓的聲音和言語,
May all the ignorance in the world cease;
願世間一切無明皆悉消除;
Just as the lord of sages is without fear and his fear has ceased,
正如聖賢之主無有恐懼,其恐懼已經止息,
So may all beings be without fear and have their fears cease.
願一切眾生都無所畏懼,恐懼都消散。
“ ‘Just like the omniscient lord of sages in saṃsāra
「正如輪迴中無所不知的聖者之主
Possesses all the qualities of the āryas,
具備聖者的一切功德,
In that way, may beings become oceans of qualities,
願眾生由此成為功德的大海,
Possessing the qualities of the aspects of enlightenment.
具足覺支的功德。
“ ‘Through the sound and words of the great drum,
「透過大鼓的聲音和言辭,
May all beings possess the voice of Brahmā
願一切眾生具足梵天的聲音
And reach the supreme enlightenment of
並達到最高的菩提
Sublime buddhahood and turn the good Dharma wheel.
殊勝的佛果,轉動善妙的法輪。
“ ‘May they remain for countless eons.
「願他們住世無數劫。
May they teach the Dharma to benefit beings.
願他們教導眾生受法利益。
May they defeat the kleśas and dispel suffering.
願他們降伏煩惱並消除苦難。
May desire, anger, and ignorance cease.
願貪欲、瞋恨和無明消除。
“ ‘Those beings who are in the lower realms,
「那些處於下界的眾生,
Whose skeleton bodies are burning in fire,
骨骼身軀在火焰中燃燒的眾生,
May they hear the sound of the great drum
願他們聽聞大鼓的聲音
And hear the words, “Homage to the buddhas!”
並聽到「敬禮諸佛」的言語!
“ ‘May all beings remember hundreds of lifetimes‍—
「願一切眾生憶念百世輪迴——
Thousands of millions of lifetimes.
數千萬世。
May they always remember the Munīndra,
願他們永遠憶念仙人之主,
And may they hear his vast teaching.
願他們聽聞仙人之主的廣大教法。
“ ‘Through the sound and words of the great drum,
「透過大鼓的音聲和言語,
May they always be together with buddhas
願他們常與諸佛相伴
And completely forsake bad actions.
並且完全放棄不善的行為。
May they accomplish good actions.
願他們成就善業。
“ ‘May the sound of the great drum
「願這偉大鼓聲
Completely bring to fulfillment
圓滿成就
Whatever wishes and prayers are made
無論什麼願望和祈禱
By humans, devas, and all beings. [F.7.b]
由人類、天人及一切眾生所發起的願望和祈禱。
“ ‘May the fires be extinguished
「願地獄之火熄滅
For the beings born in the terrible hells,
對於生在可怕地獄的眾生,
Where their bodies burn completely in fire,
他們的身體在火中完全被焚燒,
And they wander in anguish without a savior.
他們在痛苦中漂泊,沒有救濟者。
“ ‘May the sound of the great drum
「願這偉大的鼓聲
Bring an end to the sufferings of those beings
終結那些眾生的苦難。
Who are experiencing intense, unendurable suffering
正在經歷劇烈、難以忍受的痛苦的眾生
In the hells, among the pretas, and in the human world.
在地獄、餓鬼和人間中。
“ ‘For those who have no support,
「對於那些沒有依靠的人,
No protection, and no refuge,
沒有保護,也沒有依靠,
May there be protection and support,
願有保護與支持,
And may there be the supreme refuge.
願有最高的庇護。
“ ‘The buddhas, the supreme among two-legged beings,
諸佛,兩足眾生中至高無上的存在,
Who have minds of love and compassion,
具有慈悲心意的諸佛,
Who are in the worlds in the ten directions,
遍佈在十方世界中的
I pray that you turn your regard upon me.
我祈禱你將關注轉向我。
“ ‘The extremely dreadful bad actions
「那些極其可怕的惡業
That I have carried out in the past,
我過去所造作的
I confess all of them in the presence
我在眾人面前懺悔所有這些罪業。
Of those who have the ten strengths.
具有十種力量之人。
“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done,
「『無論我過去做過什麼惡業,
Such as ignoring my mother and father,
例如不孝敬我的父母,
Not acknowledging the buddhas,
不承認諸佛,
And not acknowledging good actions;
以及不承認善行;
“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done,
「我所做的一切惡業,
Such as being arrogant with pride in my wealth,
例如為自己的財富感到驕傲自滿,
And arrogant with pride in my family,
以及對我的家族感到驕傲和傲慢;
My possessions, and my youth;
我的財富,和我的青春;
“ ‘Whatever bad thoughts, bad words,
「無論我有什麼樣的惡念、惡言,
And harmful actions I have produced;
我所造作的各種傷害他人的行為;
Whatever bad actions I have done,
無論我曾做過的任何惡業,
Not viewing them as being harmful;

“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done

Through foolishness of mind,
通過心的愚癡,
My mind being darkened by ignorance,

Or being under the influence of bad friends,

“ ‘Or through my mind being disturbed by kleśas,

Because of delighting in amusements,

Or through being in misery, being ill,

Or through the evil of dissatisfaction with wealth;

“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done

Because of associating with ignoble beings,

Or caused by my jealousy and miserliness,
或是由我的嫉妒和慳吝所造成的,
Or by my dishonesty and neediness;
或由我的不誠實和貪婪所致;
“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done
「我所做的一切惡業
During the times when I was in misfortune, [F.8.a]
在我身處不幸的時代,
Or through fears concerning my desires,
或者因為我對慾望的恐懼,
Or when I was parted from my wealth;
或者當我失去財富時;
“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done
「我所做的一切惡業
Under the power of a deceitful mind,
在欺騙心念的驅使下,
Under the power of desire and anger,
在欲望和憤怒的驅使下,
Or because of hunger and thirst;
或因飢餓和口渴而做的;
“ ‘Whatever bad actions I have done
「『無論我做過什麼惡業
For the sake of food and drink,
為了食物和飲料,
For the sake of women and clothes,
為了女人和衣服的緣故,
Or from being tormented by various kleśas‍—
或是被各種煩惱所折磨——
“ ‘The bad actions of body, speech, and mind,
「身、語、意的惡業,
My accumulation of those three kinds of bad conduct,
我所積集的這三種不善行為,
Whatever I have done of that kind,
無論我做過什麼這樣的事,
I make a confession of it all.
我為此一切懺悔。
“ ‘I make a confession of all
我懺悔一切
Disrespect I have shown
我曾經表現出的不敬
To the buddhas, the Dharma,
向諸佛、法
And likewise to the śrāvakas.
同樣向聲聞懺悔。
“ ‘I make a confession of all
「我懺悔一切
Disrespect I have shown
我所表現的不尊敬
To pratyekabuddhas
對辟支佛
And to bodhisattvas.
向菩薩們。
“ ‘I make a confession of all
我懺悔一切
Disrespect I have shown
我所示現的不恭敬
To teachers of the Dharma and
對法的教師和
Disrespect I have shown to the Dharma itself.
我對法本身所表現的一切不敬,我都懺悔。
“ ‘I make a confession of all
「我懺悔所有
My rejection of the Dharma
我對法的拒斥
And disrespect to my parents
對父母的不敬
Through being in constant ignorance.
因為處於持續的無明之中。
“ ‘I make a confession of all
「我懺悔一切
Obscuration through stupidity and foolishness;
愚癡和迷茫造成的障蔽;
Through desire, anger, and ignorance;
通過貪欲、瞋恨和無明;
And through pride and arrogance.
以及通過驕傲和自我沉溺。
“ ‘I will make offerings to those with the ten strengths
「我將供養具足十力的聖者
In the worlds in the ten directions.
在十方的世界中。
I will save from all suffering
我將拯救眾生脫離一切苦難。
The beings in the ten directions.
十方世界中的所有眾生。
“ ‘I will bring all the
「我將把一切
Countless beings onto the ten bhūmis.
無數眾生登上十地。
When they have reached the ten bhūmis,
當他們到達十地時,
May they all become tathāgatas.
願他們都成為如來。
“ ‘Until I can free them all
「直到我能夠解救他們所有人
From the ocean of suffering,
從苦海中,
For millions of eons I will be active
我將在數百萬劫中持續利益眾生
For the sake of every single being. [F.8.b]
為了每一個眾生的緣故。
“ ‘I will teach those beings
「我將教導那些眾生
This profound teaching
這個深奧的教法
That is called The Sublime Golden Light
這就叫做《妙金光明經》
And purifies one of all karma.
並淨除一切業。
“ ‘Those who have committed dreadful evil acts
「那些曾經犯下可怕惡行的人
Throughout a thousand eons
歷經千個劫期
Will purify themselves of them
將藉由一次的懺悔而淨化自己的業障
Through one single confession.
通過一次懺悔。
“ ‘Those who are obscured by bad karma
「那些被惡業所遮蔽的人
Will quickly become purified of it
將快速從中得到淨化
Through confessing with these confessions
通過這些懺悔而懺悔
Through the good Sublime Golden Light.
透過妙金光明的善法。
“ ‘I will dwell upon the ten bhūmis,
「我將安住在十地之上,
The supreme ten that are the source of jewels.
至高無上的十地,是珍寶的源泉。
I will cause the qualities of a buddha to appear
我將使佛的功德顯現。
And liberate others from the ocean of existence.
並解救他人脫離輪迴的大海。
“ ‘Through the inconceivable qualities of a buddha,
「透過佛無法思議的特質,
The flow of the ocean of buddhahood,
佛果的洋流,
And the deep ocean of buddha qualities,
以及佛的深遠廣大的功德海,
I will have the perfection of omniscience.
我將具足遍知的波羅蜜。
“ ‘Through a hundred thousand samādhis,
「透過百千個三昧,
Through countless powers of mental retention,
通過無數心一境性的力量,
And through the strengths, powers, and aspects of enlightenment,
而且通過十力、神通和覺支,
I will become a sublime one with the ten strengths.
我將成為具有十力的殊勝者。
“ ‘I pray that the buddhas look upon me
我祈禱諸佛以心意關注我
And regard me with their minds.
並以他們的心意看顧我。
I pray that with their minds of great compassion
我祈禱諸佛以他們的大慈悲心
They apprehend the errors I have made.
他們察覺到我所犯的錯誤。
“ ‘I am tormented by a sorrowful mind,
「我被痛苦的心念所折磨,
By wretchedness, by misery, and by terror
被苦難、被痛苦、被恐懼所困擾
Concerning the bad actions I have done
關於我所造的惡業
In the past, throughout a hundred eons.
在過去的一百個劫裡。
“ ‘I am terrified of my bad actions.
「我對自己的惡行感到恐懼。
My mind is always low.
我的心意總是處於低沉的狀態。
Whatever I do,
無論我做什麼,
I find no happiness.
我找不到任何快樂。
“ ‘All the compassionate buddhas
「『一切具有慈悲的諸佛
Dispel the fear of all beings.
消除一切眾生的恐懼。
I pray that you apprehend my faults
我祈請您認知我的過失
And free me from fear.

“ ‘May the tathāgatas remove
「願如來消除
The stain of my kleśas and karma.
我的煩惱和業的污垢。
I pray that the buddhas wash me
我祈禱諸佛用他們的慈悲之水洗淨我
With the water of their compassion.
用他們慈悲的清水洗淨我。
“ ‘I confess all my bad actions;
「我懺悔我所有的惡業;
Those that I have done in the past
我過去所做的那些壞行為
And those that are my present bad actions,
以及我現在所做的惡行,
I make a confession of them all. [F.9.a]
我向佛陀懺悔這一切。
“ ‘I make the commitment that I will not do again
「我發誓不再做這些事。
All the wrong actions that I have done.
我所做的一切不善業行。
I will not conceal those bad actions,
我不會隱瞞那些惡行,
Those wrong actions that I have done.
我所做的那些惡行。
“ ‘There are three kinds of physical actions;
「有三種身業;
There are four kinds of verbal actions;
有四種語言行為;
There are three kinds of mental actions‍—
有三種思想行為——
I make a confession of them all.
我對所有這些行為都懺悔。
“ ‘Those actions done physically, those done verbally,
「身體所作的行為,言語所作的行為,
And those done mentally‍—
以及那些由心意所造的業—
The ten kinds of karma I have created‍—
我所造作的十種業——
I make a confession of them all.
我對這一切都懺悔。
“ ‘Having forsaken the ten bad actions,

I will practice the ten that are good.
我將修習十種善行。
I will dwell upon the ten bhūmis
我將住於十地
And be endowed with the ten supreme strengths.
並且具足十種殊勝力。
“ ‘Whatever bad karma I possess
「我所有的惡業
Will bring undesirable results.
將帶來不愿的果報。
I make a confession of all of it
我在諸佛面前,懺悔我所有的業。
In the presence of the buddhas.
在諸佛的面前。
“ ‘Whatever good actions have been done,
「『無論做過什麼善行,
Whether in this Jambudvīpa
無論是在這閻浮提
Or in other world realms,
或在其他世界境域,
I rejoice in them all.
我對這些功德都感到歡喜。
“ ‘Whatever merit I have created
「我所創造的一切功德
Through my body, speech, and mind,
通過我的身體、語言和心意,
Through those meritorious roots
通過那些功德根源
I will reach the highest enlightenment.
我將證得最高的菩提。
“ ‘Whatever dreadful bad actions have been made
「無論造作了什麼可怕的惡業
By a foolish mind distressed within existences,
我以愚昧的心在輪迴中感到痛苦,
I confess each one of those bad actions
我懺悔這些每一個惡行
Before the unequaled one with the ten strengths.
在具足十力的無上者面前。
“ ‘I confess whatever bad karma I have accumulated
「我懺悔我所累積的一切惡業
In dangerous lives, in dangerous existences,
在危險的生命裡,在危險的生存中,
In dangerous worlds, with a dangerous and unstable mind,
在危險的世界裡,懷著危險且不穩定的心。
Through various kinds of dangerous physical behavior.
透過各種危險的身體行為。
“ ‘In the presence of the unequaled jinas,
「在無與倫比的勝者面前,
I confess every single bad action I have done
我坦誠懺悔自己所做的一切惡業。
Because of perilous, foolish stupidity and kleśas,
由於危險的愚癡和煩惱,
Because of perilous association with wicked friends,
因為危險地與惡友相伴,
“ ‘Because of perilous saṃsāra and perilous desire,
「因為危險的輪迴和危險的貪欲,
Because of perilous anger and perilous ignorance,
因為危險的瞋恚和危險的無明,
Because of perilous fatigue and perilous times,
因為危險的疲勞和危險的時代,
And because of a perilous lack of producing merit.

“ ‘I praise the buddhas, who are like shining golden mountains,
「我讚歎諸佛,他們如同閃耀的黃金山峰,
Who are like Sumeru, and like oceans of qualities. [F.9.b]
他們如同須彌山,如同功德的大海。
I go for refuge to those jinas
我皈依那些勝者。
And bow my head to all those jinas.

“ ‘Golden in color, stainless gold, golden light,
「『黃金色澤,無垢的黃金,黃金光明,
With the feature of eyes of pure, stainless beryl‍—
具有純淨、無垢吠琉璃眼睛的特徵——
A buddha sun, the source of glorious brilliance and blazing fame
一位佛陽,光榮燦爛和熊熊名聲的源頭
Dispelling deep darkness with the light rays of compassion.
以慈悲的光芒驅散深重的黑暗。
“ ‘With perfectly stainless, very beautiful, excellent limbs,
「具足最清淨、極其莊嚴、殊勝的身體,
The buddha sun’s limbs are as if covered with stainless gold.
佛陽的四肢彷彿覆蓋著無瑕的黃金。
The light rays of the muni moon bring pleasure
牟尼月的光芒為眾生帶來喜樂
To minds pained by the fires of the kleśas, which are like blazing fires.
對於被煩惱之火所灼燒的心靈,就像被熊熊烈火所焚燒一樣。
“ ‘With faculties and limbs beautified by the thirty-two supreme signs,
「以三十二種至高的相好莊嚴了諸根和肢體,
Limbs beautified by the excellent features,
四肢被殊勝的相好所莊嚴,
And with a net of light rays producing blazing, glorious, brilliant merit,
以及放射出熾熱、榮耀、燦爛功德的光線網。
You are present like the sun in the darkness of the three worlds.
你如太陽一般,照亮三界的黑暗。
“ ‘Body aspects the color of vast, beautiful, stainless beryl;
「身相具有廣大、清淨、無垢的吠琉璃色;
The red of dawn, silver, crystal, and copper-red;
晨曦的紅色、銀色、水晶色和銅紅色;
Adorned by a net of light rays of various colors,
被各色光線的網路所莊嚴。
You, great Muni, are beautiful like the sun.
你,偉大的牟尼,美麗如同太陽。
“ ‘The multitude of light rays from the sun of the sugatas dry up
「善逝日輪的無數光芒乾枯了
The intensely fierce and violent ocean of suffering.
激烈兇猛的苦難之海洋。
Falling into the river of distress, the great river of saṃsāra,
墮入痛苦之河,輪迴的大河,
Waters of death and waves of aging churn with misery.
死亡之水和衰老之波攪動著痛苦。
“ ‘I praise the buddhas, who have golden bodies,
「我讚歎諸佛,具有黃金之身,
The source of wisdom, supreme within the three worlds.
智慧的源頭,在三界中最為殊勝。
Their limbs shine with the color of gold;
他們的肢體閃耀著黃金的光彩;
Their limbs are adorned by beautiful signs.
他們的四肢被美妙的標誌所莊嚴。
“ ‘Just as the water of the ocean is immeasurable,
「就如同大海的水是無法衡量的,
Just as the particles in the earth are infinite,
就像大地中的微塵無量無邊一樣,
Just as there is no end of stones in Meru,
就如同須彌山中的石頭沒有窮盡一樣,
And just as there is an endless extent to space,
就如同虛空沒有盡頭一樣,
“ ‘The qualities of a buddha are similarly infinite.
「佛的功德同樣無量無邊。
There is no one among all beings who can know them.
在所有眾生中,沒有任何人能夠知曉它們。
Even if they examined and contemplated for many eons,
即使他們在無數劫中仔細觀察和思考,
They still would not know the end of those qualities.
他們仍然無法知道那些特質的終端。
“ ‘By counting for eons one may know how many measures,
「凡夫即使通過計數而經歷了無數劫,也能知曉有多少衡量,
Each the size of a drop of water on the tip of a hair,
每一個都像毛髮尖端上的水滴那樣大小,
There are in the earth, with its stones, mountains, and oceans. [F.10.a]

But one could never perceive a limit to the qualities of a buddha.

“ ‘May all beings become like that,
「願一切眾生都能成為那樣,
With those qualities, colors, fame, and renown,
具足那些功德、色相、名聲和殊勝,
With bodies adorned by the signs of goodness
具有善根標誌所莊嚴的身體
And beautified by the eighty features.
並由八十種好相莊嚴。
“ ‘May I, through this good karma,
「願我藉由這善業,
Become before long a buddha in the world.
不久便能成為世間的佛。
May I teach the Dharma for the benefit of beings,
願我宣說法來利益眾生,
And may I free beings afflicted by many sufferings.
願我能解救受到眾多苦難折磨的眾生。
“ ‘May I be victorious over powerful Māra and his army.
「願我戰勝強大的魔和他的軍隊。
May I turn the good wheel of the Dharma.
願我轉動善法之輪。
May I remain for countless eons,
願我住世無數劫,
And may I satisfy beings with the water of amṛta.
願我以甘露之水滿足眾生。
“ ‘May I bring to completion the supreme six perfections,
「願我圓滿成就至高無上的六波羅蜜,
Just as the jinas of the past have completed them.
正如過去的勝者已經圓滿成就它們一樣。
May I destroy the kleśas and clear away suffering,
願我摧滅煩惱,消除苦難,
And bring desire, anger, and ignorance to an end.
並終結欲望、嗔恨和無明。
“ ‘May I always remember lifetimes‍—
「願我常念過往生世——
A hundred lifetimes, ten billion lifetimes.
百個輪迴,百億個輪迴。
May I constantly recollect the lords of munis,
願我常常憶念牟尼諸主。
And may I listen to their vast speech.
願我聆聽他們廣大的教法。
“ ‘May I through these good actions
「願我藉由這些善行
Always succeed in meeting with buddhas.
常得親近諸佛。
May I completely forsake bad actions
願我完全捨棄惡行
And may I practice good actions, the source of merit.
願我修行善業,功德之源。
“ ‘May all the bad karma of all beings
「願一切眾生的惡業
In every realm come to an end in their worlds.
在各自的世界裡完全結束。
May those beings with impaired faculties and defective limbs
願那些根根不全、身體有缺陷的眾生
All possess complete faculties on this day.
願一切眾生今日都具足完整的諸根。
“ ‘May those in the ten directions who have no protector,
「願十方無有救護者、
And are sick, weak, and feeble in body,
身體患病、虛弱且衰弱的眾生,
All be quickly freed from illness
都能迅速脫離疾病
And gain health, strength, and their faculties.
都能迅速獲得健康、力量和各種感官能力。
“ ‘May those whose lives are endangered by attacks from kings and robbers
「願那些生命受到國王和盜賊攻擊而處於危險中的人們
And are in distress from hundreds of various kinds of suffering‍—
以及那些因為百般各式的痛苦而陷入困頓之中的——
All those beings in misfortune and who are suffering‍—
所有陷入不幸和遭受苦難的眾生——
Become freed from hundreds of the greatest, most dreadful terrors.
得以解脫百般最大、最可怕的恐懼。
“ ‘Those who are beaten, who are in painful bondage,
「那些遭到毆打、陷入痛苦枷鎖的人,
Who remain in various kinds of distress, [F.10.b]
那些仍然處於各種痛苦困頓中的眾生,
Who are disturbed by thousands of tribulations
被數千種苦難所困擾的人
And meet various kinds of dreadful terrors and miseries,
遇到各種可怕的恐懼和苦難,
“ ‘May they all become free from their bonds.
「願他們都能夠遠離束縛。
May those who are beaten be freed from beatings.
願那些遭受毆打的人,都能免於毆打之苦。
May those who are to be killed gain their lives,
願那些將被殺害的人得以保全生命,
And may they be free from all distress and fear.
願他們都遠離一切苦惱和恐懼。
“ ‘May the beings who are pained by hunger and thirst
願那些因飢餓和口渴而痛苦的眾生
Obtain various kinds of food and drink.
獲得各種食物和飲料。
May the blind see the variety of forms.
願盲人能夠看到各種色相。
May the deaf hear pleasant sounds.
願聾人能夠聽聞美妙的聲音。
“ ‘May the naked find a variety of clothes.
「願赤身露體者得到各種衣著。
May poor beings discover treasures.
願貧窮的眾生發現財寶。
May all beings become happily possessed
願一切眾生都能快樂地擁有
Of many kinds of wealth, grain, and jewels.
擁有各種各樣的財富、穀物和珍寶。
“ ‘May no one be afflicted with the experience of suffering.
願所有眾生都不被痛苦的經歷所折磨。
May all beings become beautiful,
願所有眾生都變得美麗,
With excellent, attractive, pleasant bodies,
具備美好、迷人、悅目的身體,
And always fully possess many kinds of happiness.
並且常常圓滿擁有許多種類的快樂。
“ ‘May beings, completely endowed with merit, have food and drink
「願眾生圓滿具足功德,擁有食物和飲料
As soon as they think of them.

May they have melodious vīnas, mṛdaṅga drums, and paṭaha drums;

Springs, lakes, ponds, and reservoirs,

“ ‘With golden lotuses, and blue and red lotuses;

May they have them all as soon as they are thought of.

“ ‘May various perfumes, garlands, ointments,

Clothes, powders, and flowers

Rain down from trees throughout the three times,

And may beings obtain them and be made happy.

“ ‘May they make offerings in the ten directions

To all the countless tathāgatas,
向無量無邊的如來,
Perfect bodhisattvas, śrāvakas, [F.11.a]

And the eternal, spotless, stainless Dharma.
以及永恆、清淨、無垢的法。
“ ‘May they always avoid lower existences,
「願他們始終遠離下道。
May they transcend the eight unfortunates states,
願他們超越八種不幸的境況,
May they attain the king of fortunate states,
願他們證得幸運境界之王,
And may they always reach the presence of the buddhas.
願他們常常到達諸佛的面前。
“ ‘May they always be born into a high family.
「願他們永遠投生到高貴的家族。
May they possess a treasure of wealth and grain.
願他們擁有財富和穀物的珍寶。
May they be perfectly adorned throughout many eons
願他們在多劫中圓滿莊嚴。
By fame, renown, and excellent bodies and color.

“ ‘May all women always be males
「願一切女性恆常成為男性
Who are heroic, courageous, and wise.
具有英勇、勇敢和智慧的人。
May they all practice for the sake of enlightenment,
願他們都為了菩提而修行。
And may they practice the six perfections.
願他們修習六波羅蜜。
“ ‘May they see the buddhas in the ten directions
「願他們看見十方的諸佛
Seated blissfully on thrones of beryl jewels
安樂地坐在吠琉璃珍寶的寶座上
Beneath supreme, precious trees,
在至高無上的珍寶樹下,
And may they hear their teaching of the Dharma.
願他們聽聞諸佛所說的法。
“ ‘The bad karma that I have created
「我所造作的惡業
In perilous lifetimes I previously obtained,
在我過去危險的生世中所獲得的,
And the undesirable results accrued by bad karma,
以及由不善業所累積的不良果報,
May all of that vanish without any remainder.
願一切業果都完全消滅,不留任何痕跡。
“ ‘Those beings who are in the bondage of existence,

Tightly bound by the noose of saṃsāra,

May the hands of wisdom untie their bonds,

And may they quickly be freed from suffering.

Accomplished by beings in this Jambudvīpa

By my rejoicing in body, speech, and mind,

May I reach the spotless, highest enlightenment,

The result and fulfillment of my prayers.

“ ‘Someone who pays homage and praises

With a mind that is always clear, pure, and unstained
以清淨無染、永遠清明的心
Will through this recitation of a dedication
我會透過此迴向文的誦持
Avoid the lower realms for sixty eons.
六十劫中遠離下三道。
“ ‘The men, women, brahmins, and kṣatriyas
「那些男性、女性、婆羅門和剎帝利
Who praise the jinas, with palms together in homage,
禮敬勝者、雙掌合十讚歎的人們,
Through the recitation of these verses [F.11.b]

Will remember their lifetimes in all their lives.

“ ‘Their limbs will be adorned by all aspects and attributes.

They will be endowed with various merits and qualities.

They will be continually offered to by kings, the lords of men.

That is what they will be like wherever they are.

But rather have accomplished goodness in the presence of a thousand buddhas.’ ”
而是已經在一千位佛的面前成就了善業。」
