Chapter 13: Susaṃbhava
第13章：蘇三跋羅王
“Whenever I was a cakravartin king,
「每當我是轉輪聖王的時候，
I gave away the earth with its oceans.
我將大地連同四大洋都施捨出去了。
I offered the four continents
我供養了四大洲
Filled with jewels to the past jinas.
充滿珍寶獻給過去的勝者。
“Because I sought the Dharma body,
「因為我追求法身，
There was nothing in the past that was pleasant
過去沒有任何令人愉悅的事物
And cherished that I did not give away,
以及我所珍愛而未曾捨棄的。
And in many eons, I even gave up my cherished life.
在無數劫中，我甚至放棄了自己珍愛的生命。
“Many countless eons ago,
「許多無數的劫前，
I was King Susaṃbhava
我是蘇三跋羅王
Within the teaching of the sugata Ratnaśikhin,
在善逝寶髻佛的教導中，
A sugata who had passed into nirvāṇa.
已經進入涅槃的善逝。
“He was a cakravartin who ruled the four continents,
「他是統治四大洲的轉輪聖王，
And he reigned over the land as far as the oceans.
他統治著直到大海的土地。
At that time, the excellent king went to sleep
那時，善好的國王去睡眠了。
In the royal palace for the teaching of the lord of jinas.
在轉輪聖王的宮殿裡，為勝者之主傳授教法。
“In a dream, he heard the qualities of a buddha,
在夢中，他聽聞了佛的功德，
And in the middle of his sleep, he clearly saw
在睡眠中途，他清楚地看見
The dharmabhāṇaka Ratnoccaya
法師寶聚
Teaching this lord of the sūtras.
為此法師寶聚宣說這部經之王。
“That king awoke from his sleep,
那位國王從睡眠中醒來，
His entire body filled with joy.
他的整個身體充滿了喜悅。
He reverently left the royal capital
他恭敬地離開了王城
And approached the excellent śrāvaka saṅgha. [F.40.b]
並且親近了殊勝的聲聞僧伽。
“He made offerings to the Jina’s śrāvakas,
「他向勝者的聲聞獻上供養，
And he questioned this ārya saṅgha
他向這位聖者僧伽提出了疑問
About the dharmabhāṇaka Ratnoccaya:
關於法師寶聚：
‘Where is Ratnoccaya, the bhikṣu with qualities?’
「寶聚那位具德的比丘在哪裡？」
“At that time, Ratnoccaya
「那時，寶聚
Was dwelling in another cave
住在另一個洞穴中
In a state of happiness, contemplating
在快樂的境界中，正在思考
And reciting this king of sūtras.
並且誦持這部經之王。
“Just then they showed the king
就在那時，他們向國王顯示
The dharmabhāṇaka Ratnoccaya,
法師寶聚
Shining with perfect, glorious magnificence
光輝燦爛，完美殊勝，威光無比
And residing in another cave.
並住在另一個洞窟中。
“There the dharmabhāṇaka Ratnoccaya,
「在那裡，法師寶聚，
Who possessed the profound range of the jinas,
具有勝者深遠的境界者，
Was constantly teaching the lord king of sūtras
經常宣講經之王
That is called The Sublime Golden Light.
那就稱為《妙金光明經》。
“King Susaṃbhava bowed down
蘇三跋羅王頂禮
To the feet of Ratnoccaya and said,
向寶聚頂禮，並說道：
‘I pray to you, who has a face like the full moon, to teach
我向您禮敬，您的面容如同圓月一樣，請為我開示教導。
The Lord King of Sūtras, the Sublime Golden Light.’
經之王妙金光明經。
“When Ratnoccaya promised that king,
「當寶聚向那位國王承諾時，
Susaṃbhava, that he would do so,
蘇三跋羅王，他承諾要這樣做，
All the devas throughout all the worlds
遍佈三千大千世界的所有天人都歡喜踴躍。
In the trichiliocosm became overjoyed.
在三千大千世界中，所有天人都欣喜若狂。
“At that time, the lord of men sprinkled
那時，人中之主灑下
Precious water and scented water
珍貴的水和香水
In a pure and superior place,
在純淨殊勝的地方，
Scattered flower petals, and arranged a throne.
散落花瓣，並安置了一座寶座。
“The king adorned that throne with many thousands
國王用許多數千種
Of parasols, banners, and rolls of silk.
用傘蓋、旗幡和絲綢卷軸來裝飾。
The king scattered upon that throne
國王將花瓣撒在那個寶座上
Various kinds of excellent sandalwood.
各種各樣的優質檀香。
“Devas, nāgas, asuras, kinnaras,
天人、龍、阿修羅、緊那羅，
Yakṣa lords, yakṣas, and mahoragas
夜叉首領、夜叉和摩睺羅伽
Rained down upon that throne
紛紛降落在那個寶座上
A shower of divine coral tree flowers.
降下了無數的神聖珊瑚樹花雨。
“Countless thousands of quintillions of devas
無數千萬億的天人
Who longed for the Dharma arrived,
渴望聞法的天人們來臨，
And they scattered sal flowers
他們撒下了娑羅花
When Ratnoccaya was brought forth.
當寶聚法師被帶了出來。
“The dharmabhāṇaka Ratnoccaya
法師寶聚
Washed his body and wore clean robes,
洗淨身體並穿上潔淨的衣袍，
And when he approached that throne
當他走近那個寶座時
With his palms together, he bowed to it. [F.41.a]
他合掌向它禮拜。
“The deva lords, the devas and devīs
「天神的主宰、天人與天女
Residing in the sky, sent down a rain
住在虛空中的天神、天人和天女降下了雨。
Of coral tree flowers and played
珊瑚樹花朵製成的花瓣，並演奏著
Countless thousands of musical instruments.
無數千種樂器。
“The dharmabhāṇaka bhikṣu Ratnoccaya,
「法師比丘寶聚，
Remembering countless thousands of millions
憶念無數千萬
Of buddhas in the ten directions,
十方諸佛
Mounted the throne and sat upon it.
登上寶座並坐了下去。
“Thinking of all beings with kindness
「思念一切眾生而懷抱慈悲
And developing a compassionate mind,
並且培養慈悲的心念，
At that time he taught this sūtra
那時他為蘇三跋羅王宣說了這部經。
To that king, Susaṃbhava.
對那位蘇三跋羅王。
“The king bowed with palms together
國王雙手合十行禮
And rejoiced in each single word.
對每一個字都感到歡喜。
Through the Dharma’s power he shed tears,
藉著法的力量，他流下了淚水，
And his body was permeated with joy.
他的身體充滿了喜悅。
“In order to make an offering to this sūtra,
「為了對這部經做出供養，
At that time King Susaṃbhava held up
那時蘇三跋羅王舉起了
A king of precious wish-fulfilling jewels
一位具有珍寶般滿願寶珠的國王
And made a prayer for the benefit of all beings:
並為了利益一切眾生而發願：
“ ‘May there rain down on this Jambudvīpa
「願此閻浮提降下雨水
Jewelry that contains the seven jewels
含有七種珍寶的珠寶
And whatever great wealth that will bring
所有將帶來的偉大財富
Happiness to the beings in this Jambudvīpa.’
願閻浮提的眾生都能獲得幸福。
“Just then a rain of the seven jewels,
「此時，有一陣珍寶雨降下，
Of armlets, necklaces, and excellent earrings,
手鐲、項鍊和精美的耳環，
And similarly, food, drink, and clothing
同樣地，食物、飲料和衣服
Rained down upon the four continents.
降落在四大洲。
“When King Susaṃbhava saw
當蘇三跋羅王看到
That precious rain fall on Jambudvīpa,
那珍寶雨落在閻浮提。
He offered the four continents that were
他供養了四大洲，那些洲已經被
Filled with jewels to the teaching of Ratnaśikhin.
充滿珍寶的四大洲奉獻給了寶髻佛的教法。
“I, the Tathāgata Śākyamuni, was
「我，如來釋迦牟尼，曾經
The king named Susaṃbhava,
當時有一位名叫蘇三跋羅的國王，
And at that time I offered up this earth
當時我獻上這大地
With its four continents filled with jewels.
四大洲充滿珍寶。
“The dharmabhāṇaka bhikṣu Ratnoccaya,
「那位法師比丘寶聚，
Who was the one at that time who taught
那時候教授這部經的是誰呢
This sūtra to King Susaṃbhava,
為蘇三跋羅王講述此經。
Became the Tathāgata Akṣobhya.
成為了不動如來。
“Because of the good karma from
「由於從前所積的善業，
Listening at that time to this sūtra
當時聽聞此經的人們
And rejoicing in each single word,
對每一個字都歡喜
Because of rejoicing and hearing the Dharma, [F.41.b]
因為歡喜聽聞法，
“I always have a body that is golden in color,
「我常具有黃金色的身體，
Has the signs of a hundred merits,
具足百種功德的標誌，
Is beautiful to behold and a pleasure for the eyes,
看起來美麗莊嚴，令人眼目歡喜。
And when seen gladdens ten billion devas and gladdens beings.
當被看見時，使十億位天人感到歡喜，也使眾生感到歡喜。
“For ninety-nine trillion eons
「在九十九兆劫的時間裡
I became a cakravartin king,
我成為了轉輪聖王，
And for many hundreds of thousands of eons
而且歷經許多百千萬億劫
I have experienced being the king of a realm.
我曾經歷過作為一個領域之王的境界。
“For countless eons I have been Śakras, and likewise
「無量劫以來，我曾為帝釋，同樣地
I have been lords of Brahmās with peaceful minds,
我曾經是心境寧靜的梵天之主，
And I have attained the unquantifiable ten strengths,
並且我已證得無法計量的十種力。
The extent of which can never be known.
其程度永遠無法被認知。
“Through the immeasurable accumulation of abundant merit
「通過無量功德的豐富積集
From my hearing and rejoicing in this sūtra,
從我聽聞此經並為之歡喜，
I attained the enlightenment that I had aspired to,
我獲得了我所希望的菩提。
And I also attained the sublime Dharma body.”
我也獲得了殊勝的法身。
13.33This concludes “Susaṃbhava,” the thirteenth chapter of “The Lord King of Sūtras, the Sublime Golden Light.”
