Chapter 22: The Protection Given by Yakṣas
第22章：藥叉眾所給予的保護
22.1“Great goddess Śrī, any noble man or noble woman who has faith and wishes to make an inconceivably, extremely vast and great offering of requisites to the past, future, and present buddha bhagavats, and wishes to know the profound field of activity of the past, future, and present buddhas, whether in a temple or in a wilderness, in whatever place The Lord King of Sūtras, the Sublime Golden Light is being correctly taught, in that place they should, with an undoubting and undistracted mind, pay attention and listen to this Lord King of Sūtras, the Sublime Golden Light.”
22.1「偉大的吉祥天女，任何具有信心的男子或女子，如果希望向過去、未來和現在的諸佛薄伽梵獻上不可思議、極其廣大殊勝的生活資具供養，並且希望了解過去、未來和現在的諸佛的深奧活動領域，無論是在寺廟還是在曠野，在任何地方只要《金光明尊勝王經》正被講說，在那個地方他們應該以無疑惑、無散亂的意，專注地留意並聆聽這部《金光明尊勝王經》。」
22.2Then the Bhagavat, in order to describe this extensively to the assembly, recited these verses: [F.252.b]

“Someone who wishes to make an

Inconceivable offering to all the buddhas,

It is a temple or a dwelling,

“This sūtra is inconceivable;

Its ocean of qualities is endless,

And it liberates all beings

From the oceans of many sufferings.
從眾多苦難的大洋中。
“I see the beginning of this sūtra

And also its middle and its conclusion.

This lord of sūtras is extremely profound.
這部經王極為深奧。
There is no analogy that exists for it.

“All of the particles that exist

In the Ganges and on the earth,

In the oceans and in the sky,

Cannot serve as an analogy for it.

“The entrance to the Dharma realm

Should be entered at that time.

Jina Śākyamuni should be seen

In the center of a stūpa,

“Which is the profound, enduring stūpa
「這是深奧、恆久的塔
That is the embodiment of the Dharma,

Teaching this sūtra perfectly
圓滿教說此經
With a voice that is beautiful.
用美妙的聲音。
“May the happiness of devas
願諸天的快樂
And of humans be experienced
以及人的快樂也得以體驗
For as many countless, innumerable
無數、不可計的
Million of eons as there are.
百萬劫那樣多的數量。
“Whoever listens to this sūtra
「誰若聽聞此經
Should think they will accomplish
應當思惟他們將成就
My inconceivable accumulation of merit;
我不可思議的福德積聚；
At that time, they should know this to be so.
那時候，他們應該知道事情就是這樣。
“Someone should, in order to listen to this sūtra,
有人應該為了聽聞這部經，
Be able to endure the intense pain
能夠忍受激烈的痛苦
Of crossing over a hundred-yojana-wide
跨越百由旬寬度
Moat filled with a blazing inferno.
充滿熾熱火焰的護城河。
“Then, as soon as they enter into
「那時，一旦他們進入
The temple or the dwelling,
廟宇或住所，
Their bad karma will be eliminated
他們的惡業將被消除
And all the qualities of nightmares,

Harm from planets and lunar asterisms,

And terrible evil spirits and demons

Will be entirely driven away

The moment that they enter there.

“There the Dharmabhāṇaka should make a seat

That is in the form of a lotus

“Having sat upon that seat,

Will appear upon that seat.

Sometimes devas will appear—

They will appear there briefly,

And then they will disappear.

All bad actions will be eliminated;

There will be victory in battle.

“One will have fame that will spread

Throughout the entirety of this Jambudvīpa.
遍滿整個贍部洲。
All the enemies that he has
他所有的敵人都會被完全擊敗。
Will be completely defeated.
將會被徹底擊敗。
“Enemies will constantly be vanquished.
「敵人將會不斷地被戰勝。」
All bad actions will be abandoned.
一切惡業都會被舍棄。
There will be victory in battle,
在戰鬥中將獲得勝利，
Freedom from enemies, and perfect joy.
遠離敵人，得到歡喜地。
“The Lord of Brahmās, the Lord of Trāyastriṃśa,
「梵天之主，三十三天之主，
And similarly the guardians of the world;
同樣地，世間的護衛者們；
Vajrapāṇi who is the lord of yakṣas;
金剛手，藥叉眾的領主；
Saṃjñeya, the supreme victorious leader;
散脂大將，至上的勝利領導者；
“The lord of nāgas, Anavatapta;
「龍王無熱惱；
And likewise Sāgara,
以及同樣的娑伽羅龍王，
The lord of kinnaras and lord of asuras;
緊那羅之主與阿修羅之主；
And also the lord of the garuḍas—

“Those and also all such others,

Every one of all of the devas—

Will constantly make offerings to

The inconceivable stūpa of the Dharma,

And they will feel great joy on seeing

“The supreme lords of the devas

Will all in their minds be thinking,

“ ‘Look at them, they who have

Accumulated merit, glory, and majesty!

They have come here

To listen to this profound sūtra.

“ ‘Those humans who have arrived here

Through having developed good roots
通過培育善根
Have reverence for the stūpa of the Dharma,
要恭敬供養法的塔。
With a faith that is inconceivable.
以不可思議的信心。
“ ‘They have compassion for the world
「他們對世界懷有大悲
And they bring benefit to beings.
他們為眾生帶來利益。
They are vessels for the flavor of the sublime Dharma
他們是尊勝法的味道的器皿
That comes from the profound Dharmas.
這來自於深妙法。
“ ‘They have entered through

The entrance to the Dharma realm.

They who listen to this sublime goodness,
聽聞此尊勝善法的眾生，
The Sūtra of the Sublime Golden Light,

“ ‘Have in the past made offerings

To a hundred thousand buddhas;
供養於百千萬佛；
It is because of those good roots
這是因為那些善根
That they are listening to the sūtra.’
他們才能夠聽聞這部經。
“All the lords and kings of devas—
「諸天的所有君主和國王——
Sarasvatī, and similarly
薩囉斯瓦蒂，同樣地
Śrī and Vaiśravaṇa,
吉祥天女與毗沙門，
And, similarly, the Four Mahārājas,
以及四大天王，
“And the hundred thousand yakṣas
「以及百萬藥叉眾
Who have great might and miraculous powers—
具有大力與神變——
All of them in the four directions

Will give them perfect protection.

“Indra, Soma, and Yama,

“Those who with great power subjugate adversaries,

All those protectors of the world,

Day and night, never inattentive,

Will give them their protection.

“The yakṣa lords that have great might—

Nārāyaṇa and Maheśvara,
那羅延和大自在天，
Saṃjñeya, and also the rest of
散脂大將與其他的
The other twenty-eight yakṣas,
其他二十八位藥叉，
“And the hundred thousand yakṣas
「以及百萬藥叉眾
With their great might and miraculous powers—
以其偉大的力量與神變——
Will give them their protection
將會給予他們保護
From all terror and fears.
使其免於一切恐怖與畏懼。
“Vajrapāṇi, the lord of yakṣas,
金剛手，藥叉之主，
With five hundred yakṣas
帶著五百位藥叉
And all the bodhisattvas,
還有所有的菩薩們，
Will give them his protection.
將給予他們保護。
“Maṇibhadra, the lord of yakṣas, [F.254.a]
「寶賢，藥叉之主，
And similarly, Pūrṇabhadra,
同樣地，滿賢也會
Kumbhīra and Aṭavika,
堅牢地神和林神，
Piṅgala and Kapila—
頻伽羅和迦毘羅——
“Each of those lords of yakṣas,

Accompanied by five hundred yakṣas—

Will give their protection to

Those who listen to this sūtra.

“ Gandharva and Citrasena,
乾闥婆和彩賢，
Jinarāja and Jinarṣabha,
勝王和勝幢童子，
Maṇikaṇṭha and Nikaṇṭha,
珠頸與無頸，
And similarly Varṣādhipati;
同樣還有雨師；
“Mahāgrāsa and Mahākāla,
「大吞和大黑天，
And similarly also Svarṇakeśin,
以及同樣地金髮，
Pāñcika, and Chagalapāda,
五髻和羊蹄，
And similarly also Mahābhāga;

“Praṇālin and Mahāpāla,

Markaṭa and also Vāli,

And similarly Ratnakeśa;

Kāmaśreṣṭha and Candana,

Subjugate adversaries, and have miraculous power—

“The nāga lord Anavatapta,

And similarly Sāgara,

Both Elapatra and Mucilinda,

And Nanda and Upananda,
歡喜龍王和妙喜龍王，
“With a hundred thousand nāgas
帶著十萬龍
With great might and miraculous powers,
以偉大的力與神變，
Will give them their protection
將為他們提供保護
From all terrors and fears.
從一切的恐怖和畏懼之中。
“Bali, Rāhu, and Namuci,
跋釐、羅睺和那牟遮，
Vemacitra and Saṃvara,
毘摩質多羅與三婆羅，
Prahrāda and Kharaskandha,
普拉陀和利刀軍，
And similarly the other lords of asuras,

“With a hundred thousand asuras

With great might and miraculous powers,

Will give them their protection

“Hārītī, the mother of spirits,

With her five hundred children,

Countless numbers of goddesses,

All of the other goddesses—

“The goddess of the earth and

The goddesses of harvests, fruits, and forests;

Those who dwell in parks, trees, and caityas;

And the goddesses of the wind—

With their minds filled with joy,

“For sixty-eight thousand

Times a hundred yojanas,

As far down as the vajra foundation,

The fertility of the earth will increase.

“The fertility of the earth that has sunk

A whole hundred yojanas below

Will rise back upward

And enrich the surfaces.

“Every one of all those devas, through

The power of listening to the sūtra,

Will be satiated by the flavor of
將被甘露的滋味所滿足
The Lord King of Sūtras, The Sublime Golden Light.

“They will become perfectly brilliant,

And similarly they will have strength.

They will be happy and satisfied.

Throughout the entirety of Jambudvīpa,
遍滿整個贍部洲，
“The devas of fruits, harvests, and forests

Will be satisfied by various flavors,

And they will be completely delighted,

Satisfied by the flavor of the sūtra.

“Then the fruits and the harvests,

And the various kinds of flowers

And the various kinds of fruit trees,

Will all develop perfectly.

“All the fruit trees,

The parks, and the forests

That have various kinds of flowers

And various kinds of fruits

Will grow upon the earth.

“Throughout the entirety of this Jambudvīpa

There will be innumerable nāga maidens
將會有無數的龍女
Whose minds will become filled with joy,
其意將被喜充滿，
And they will come to where the ponds are.

“And there will grow in all the ponds

A variety of night lotuses,

Red lotuses, and similarly

Blue lotuses and white lotuses.

“In the sky there will be no smoke,

And it will not be covered by clouds.

There will be no darkness and no dust,

Brings the most perfect joy

With its profound brightness.

“Even that lord, the deva Sūrya,

Dwelling in his divine palace

Made of Jambū River gold,
用閻浮檀金製成的，
Will gain satisfaction through this sūtra.
將通過此經獲得滿足。
“When Lord Sūrya is gladdened,

He will shine onto Jambudvīpa;

He will completely illuminate it

With an infinite net of light rays.

“Simply through his rising,

He will shine a net of light rays,

And the lotuses that fill

A variety of ponds will open.

“Throughout the entirety of this Jambudvīpa,

The various flowers, fruits, and herbs

Will perfectly, completely ripen,

And the entire earth will be satisfied.

“The moon and the sun also

Will at that time be brighter.

The lunar asterisms will move perfectly,

And similarly so will the winds.
風也會如此。
“Throughout all of Jambudvīpa
「遍滿整個贍部洲
There will be excellent harvests.
會有豐收。
Wherever this sūtra is present,
凡是有這部經所在的地方，
That kingdom will be preeminent.”
