壇城

2.1Then the blessed Hatred Vajrī tightly embraced Lord Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa and said:

“What is the size of the maṇḍala,
「壇城的大小是多少,
And with what materials should it be drawn?
應該用什麼材料來描繪它?
And also, what is to be written in its center?

Tell me, O lord!”
請告訴我,尊貴的主人!」

2.2The lord then said:

“The size of the maṇḍala
「壇城的大小應該是一肘、兩肘,
Should be one cubit, two cubits,
應該是一肘、二肘、
Three cubits, four or five‍—
三肘、四肘或五肘—
But not more than five cubits in measure.
但不應超過五肘的尺寸。
“It should be made with powders of whatever substances
應該用各種物質的粉末製作。
And of different colors,
不同的顏色。
With four corners, four doors,
四個角落,四道門戶,
And adorned with four archways.
並用四座牌坊裝飾。
“One should draw the door the size of
「應當繪製門的大小為
One-eighth of the whole maṇḍala,
壇城整體的八分之一,
The portico the same size as the door,
門廊的大小應與門相同。
And the cupola one-half of that.
圓頂為其一半。
“And also, of such measure, the side, the altar,
「同樣的尺寸,邊側、祭壇,」
The garland, the half-garland, and the paṭṭikā .
花環、半花環和帶狀裝飾。
The rajobhuva , however, outside of the base line,

Should be one-half of the paṭṭikā .

“One should draw the row of vajras of the same size

And also the eight pillars.

One should make the chief gateway

Three times as big as the door.

“A double vajra should be drawn below,
「下面應當畫一個雙金剛杵,
Surrounded by the vajra-enclosure.

The maṇḍala of Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa
大忿怒的壇城
Should be adorned with wish-fulfilling trees, and so on.
應該用如意樹等來裝飾。
“One should also demarcate an inner enclosure
應當也劃分一個內部的金剛杵界線
In the round shape of a circle.
在圓形的形狀中。
In its eight directions, starting from the east,
在它的八個方向中,從東方開始,
One should draw a multicolored lotus of eight petals,
應當繪製一朵八瓣的多彩蓮花,
“With the space in the middle being the ninth.
中間的空間為第九個。
In the center of the ninth, a deep-blue sword should be drawn
在第九個中心位置,應該繪製一把深藍色的劍
Marked with a vajra and placed together with

A vajra-knife and a skull cup.

“In the east, one should draw
在東方,應當畫作
A sword of white color marked with a wheel.

In the south, one should draw
在南方,應當繪畫
A yellow sword, inlaid with a jewel.
一把黃色的劍,鑲嵌著寶珠。
“In the west, one of red color,
在西方,一把紅色的劍,
Marked with a red lotus.
用紅色蓮花標記。
In the north, one should draw
在北方,應當畫著
A plain sword of dark-green color.
一把素質的深綠色劍。
“In the southeast corner, one should draw
在東南角應該畫
A white knife, marked with a wheel.
一把白色的刀,上面標有輪。
In the southwestern corner, one should draw
在西南角,應該繪製
A yellow one, nicely marked with a jewel. [F.306.a]
一個黃色的刀,精美地標記著寶珠。
“In the northwestern corner, similarly,
在西北角,同樣地,
A red one, nicely marked with a red lotus, should be drawn.
在東北角,應當繪製一個紅色的,用紅色蓮花妝點裝飾的。
In the northeastern corner,

A dark-green one with a blue lotus.

“One should arrange all these signs

In position above the sun and the moon.

I have taught this maṇḍala of powders

To accomplish the benefit of the world.

“Alternatively one should prepare a maṇḍala

In the form of a canvas-picture, nicely painted.

The maṇḍala should be drawn as before.

In the center, one should draw Black Acala,
在中央,應該繪畫黑不動,
“Embraced by Hatred Vajrī.
被嗔怒金剛女擁抱。
In the east, one should draw White Acala;
在東方,應該畫白不動。
Similarly Yellow Acala in the south.
同樣在南方應畫黃不動。
In the west, one should draw Red Acala;
在西方,應當描繪紅不動;
“In the north, one should draw Green Acala.
在北方,應當繪畫綠不動。
In the southeast, white Delusion Vajrī;
在東南方,應繪製白色癡金剛女;
In the southwest, one should draw
在西南方,應當繪製
Yellow Calumny Vajrī.
黃色誹謗金剛女。
“In the northwest, one should draw
在西北方,應該畫
The red goddess Passion Vajrī;
紅色的貪欲金剛母;
In the northeast, draw dark-green Envy Vajrī.
在東北方,應當繪畫深綠色的嫉妒金剛母。
So one should draw the canvas-maṇḍala.
因此應該畫出畫布壇城。

2.19“Now comes the maṇḍala tutelage mantra:

2.19「現在開始壇城教導咒語:

“ Oṁ, Blessed Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa, together with your retinue, come, come! Jaḥ hūṁ vaṁ hoḥ! Assume tutelage over this maṇḍala! Hūṁ phaṭ! Svāhā!

(咒語不翻)

“With this mantra, one should summon, induct, bind, and enthrall Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa, and then worship him.

「用這個咒語,應當召請、引入、束縛並迷惑大忿怒,然後禮讚他。」

2.20“Now comes the worship mantra:

2.20「現在是禮讚咒語:

“The flowers, and likewise the light, the incense,
「花朵,以及同樣地燈光、香,
The perfumes, and the food‍—
香水和食物——
With these five offerings,
以這五供養,
One should worship the maṇḍala.
應當禮讚壇城。
“When, however, White Acala is in the center,
「然而,當白不動在中心時,」
Together with Delusion Vajrī,
與癡金剛母一起,
The maṇḍala should be known as his.
壇城應當被認知為他的。
So would be the case with Yellow Acala and so forth.
黃不動及其他尊神也是如此。
“One should prepare the five maṇḍalas
應當準備五個壇城
According to the division of the five yogins,
根據五位瑜伽士的區分,
With one-pointed mind,
以一心專注,
Having made an effort to do the prior worship first.
應首先努力進行前期的禮讚。
“Only after offerings to the maṇḍala have been made, [F.306.b]
「只有在對壇城進行了供養之後,」
Can one offer refreshments of wine and meat
才能向被瑜伽士擁抱的瑜伽女供養酒肉的清涼飲食
To the yoginī embraced by the yogin
瑜伽士所擁抱的瑜伽女
And praise her again and again.”
