讚頌女性

10.1Then the goddess said, “Is it possible, O lord, to attain the level of Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa even without a woman? [F.318.b] Or is it not possible?”

10.1然後女神說:「尊主啊,不依靠女性能否成就大忿怒的境界?或是不能成就?」

The lord replied, “It is not possible, O goddess.”

尊主回答說:「女神啊,這是不可能的。」

The goddess said, “Is it impossible, O lord, because bliss does not arise?”

女神說:「不可能是因為喜樂不會生起嗎,我主?」

The lord said:

尊者說:

“The highest awakening is not attained
「最高的覺悟不會被證得
Merely by the arising of bliss.
僅僅藉由喜樂的生起。
Only by the arising of a particular kind of bliss
只有通過特定種類的喜樂的生起
Can it be reached, not otherwise.
才能達到,別無他法。
“And this bliss is not felt without doing what needs to be done‍—
「而這種喜樂不是不做必須做的事就能感受到的——
It is produced only through the right cause.
這只有通過正確的因才能產生。
And the cause is union with a woman;
而且這個因是與女人的結合;
There is no other cause, ever.
沒有其他的因,永遠都沒有。
“Among all illusions,
「在所有幻相中,
Only the illusion of a woman is praised.
只有女性的幻象受到讚美。
Whoever would transgress against her
無論誰違逆她
Will not attain accomplishment.
將無法獲得成就。
“Therefore separation from women
「因此遠離女性
Must never take place.
絕對不可以分離女性。
So if there should occur suffering,
所以如果出現痛苦,
Death, bondage, or fear‍—
死亡、束縛或恐懼——
“One should put up with all of this,
「應當忍耐這一切,
Rather than abandon a woman,
與其放棄一個女人,
Since all women can cause one
因為一切女性都能導致一個人
To attain buddhahood by means of the four joys.
通過四喜樂來成就佛陀果位。
“Without modesty, fickle, impudent,
「不知羞恥、反覆無常、厚顏無恥,
Wholly in pursuit of desires‍—
完全沉溺於慾望之中——
Yet they alone grant accomplishment;
然而唯有她們才能賜予成就;
They should be served with all one’s being.
應該用全部的身心去侍奉她們。
“What can be said of the nature of woman‍—
"女性的本質如何說起呢——
They can even die from love
她們甚至會因為愛而死去
By merely being separated from their husbands.
僅僅因為與丈夫分離就會死去。
What more can be said than this?
還有什麼比這更可說的呢?
“Therefore all women should be viewed
「因此,所有婦女都應該被視為
As goddesses on all occasions.
應當被視為女神,在任何時刻都是如此。
Even wood, stone, and other objects
即使是木頭、石頭和其他物體
Should be imagined, in one’s mind, as such.
應該在自己的心中想像成這樣。
“For a woman, the man is a deity;
對於一個女人來說,男人是一個本尊;
For a man, the woman is a deity.
對於男人來說,女人是本尊。
They should honor each other
他們應當相互尊敬
By uniting the vajra and the lotus.
通過結合金剛杵與蓮花。
“No other god should one worship,
"不應禮讚其他本尊,"
Allowing him to take control.
允許他掌控。
Therefore the yogin, filled with compassion,
因此,充滿悲心的瑜伽士,
Should set up the maṇḍala in front;
應該在前方建立壇城;
“Then he should lead the woman there
然後他應該引領該女性到那裡
In her form, which is none other than Perfection of Wisdom ‌.
在她的形象中,她就是般若波羅蜜。
One must worship her with flowers,
應當用花朵來禮讚她。
Lamps, incense, and so forth.
燈、香等物。
“Later one should pay obeisance to her,
「之後應當向她頂禮,
Prostrating with one’s whole body.
用整個身體頂禮。
Then one should circumambulate her clockwise‍— [F.319.a]
然後應該順時針繞她行走。
This will complete the worship of Caṇḍī.
這樣就完成了對大忿怒女的禮讚。
“In the same way, a woman should worship a man‍—
"同樣地,一個女人應該禮讚一個男人——
With respect, and with the mind filled with devotion.
以恭敬的心,充滿虔誠的意念。
She should perform the worship, in reciprocity,
她應該相互地進行禮讚。
As has been taught by the victorious ones.
如諸勝者所教導的般。
“One must not scold a woman,
「不應該責罵女性,
Nor can one abandon her when being asked for a favor.
也不能在她請求幫助時拋棄她。
One should speak nice words
應當說出溫和的言語
And give her things according to need.
根據她的需要給予物質上的幫助。
“One should praise her with all one’s heart,
「應該從內心誠懇地讚美她,
So that she does not perceive one as a villain.
以免她認為你是個惡棍。
One must never abandon a woman wherever one may be,
無論身在何處,都不應該拋棄女性。
After hearing this teaching of the Buddha.
聽聞佛陀的這一教法之後。
“Whoever should act otherwise,
"凡是違背此教之人,"
That evildoer will end up in hell.
那個作惡者將會墮入地獄。
Apart from causing his own death,
除了導致自己死亡之外,
Does he achieve anything by separating himself from women?
他透過遠離女性能夠成就什麼呢?
“This practice of Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa
「大忿怒的修行
Can never be accomplished by religious austerities.
永遠無法透過宗教苦行而圓滿成就。
It would be fruitless due to the net of delusion‍—
由於迷惑的網羅,這會是徒勞無功的——
The pure mind would be blocked.
清淨的心識會受到阻礙。
“A lover must not abandon lust,
「一個修行者不應該放棄欲望,
Lest he would be living a lie.
以免他落入虛偽之中。
By living a lie, evil is incurred;
藉由虛偽的生活,邪惡便會產生;
And from evil, a rebirth in hell.
從惡業中,會轉世到地獄。
“He who lives a lie will meet his death,
「誰若生活在謊言中,將要面臨他的死亡,
There is no doubt.
毫無疑問。
Through this lust alone, accomplishment is won‍—
唯有透過這種欲望,才能成就圓滿—
Only through lust‍—by the sons of the victorious ones.
只有通過欲望——由勝利者之子而已。
“So one should not torment oneself with austerities,
「所以一個人不應該用苦行來折磨自己,
Abandoning the five sense-objects.
捨棄五種感官對象。
One should notice beauty as it comes along,
人應該注意到隨之而來的美。
And listen to the sound.
並且要聆聽聲音。
“One should smell the odor
「應當聞嗅氣味
And savor the supreme taste.
並品嚐最上妙味。
One should experience the sensation of touch,
應該經歷觸覺的受。
Pursuing the five types of sense-objects.
追求五種感官對象。
“One will quickly become awakened,
「會迅速覺醒,
Being wholly devoted to Caṇḍaroṣa.
完全專注於大忿怒尊。
There is no greater deception,
沒有更大的欺騙。
And no greater delusion,
沒有更大的迷惑,
“Than a man spending his entire youth
比一個男人把整個青春年華都花費掉
Without bringing enjoyment to women.
沒有為女性帶來歡樂。
No reward will be yours to see,
你不會獲得任何回報。
But you will have incurred the greatest loss.
但你將遭受最大的損失。
“Those who are wholly devoted to desire
「那些完全沉溺於欲望的人們
Serve their lovers regularly.
定期侍奉他們的愛人。
Having seen that the seat of Caṇḍaroṣa
看到忿怒者的座位
Is nestled within the vulva of a woman,
住於女性的陰道之中,
“How would they be able to sleep, eat, or laugh,
「他們怎麼能夠睡眠、飲食或歡笑呢,
If they abandoned it?
如果他們放棄它?
In order to destroy the wickedness of the world,
為了摧毀世間的邪惡,
The son of Māyādevī‍—the wise teacher‍—
摩耶夫人之子——那位聰慧的導師——
“Abandoned his 84,000 wives [F.319.b]
「捨棄了八萬四千位妻妾」
And his entire harem,
還有他整個後宮的所有妃妾,
And went to the bank of Nairañjanā.
前往尼連禪河河邊。
He manifested the accomplishment of a buddha
他示現了佛陀的成就
“By turning away the advancing Māras,
「透過轉向來臨的魔,
But this was not so from the perspective of the absolute truth.
但從絕對真理的角度來看,情況並非如此。
This was not so, since it was in the female quarters, that the Buddha,
這並非如此,因為佛陀是在女眾住處,
Experiencing pleasure in the company of Gopā, became accomplished.
在耶輸陀羅的陪伴下體驗喜樂而成就。
“It is from the union of the vajra and the lotus
「金剛杵與蓮花的結合而來。
That true pleasure is derived.
真實的快樂由此而生。
Awakening is attained through pleasure,
快樂中證得覺悟。
And there is no pleasure in being separated from women.
而且與女性分離是沒有快樂的。
“However, he who enacts separation
"然而,實踐分離的人
In order to remove the wickedness of the world‍—
為了消除世間的邪惡——
Namely the victorious master of illusory displays‍—
即那位幻化顯現的勝利主宰——
Enacts his part in that very form
在那同樣的形象中扮演他的角色
“Through which the people will come
「通過這個方式,人們將會來到」
To him, the awakened one, for guidance.
向他,這位覺悟者,尋求指導。
By criticizing women
通過批評女性
In all the sūtra and Abhidharma literature,
在所有的經和阿毗達磨文獻中,
“He would teach different levels of training,
他會教導不同層次的修行,
His words concealing the truth.
他的言論隱藏了真實。
He would also explain nirvāṇa
他也會解釋涅槃
As being the result of the cessation of the five aggregates.”

10.32Then the blessed lady Prajñāpāramitā said, “Who is that blessed one, the son of Māyādevī, and who is Gopā?”

10.32然後聖尊般若波羅蜜多說:「誰是那位聖者,摩耶夫人的兒子,誰又是耶輸陀羅呢?」

The blessed lord said:

尊貴的大主說:

“I am the son of Māyādevī,
「我是摩耶夫人的兒子,
Who has now become Caṇḍaroṣaṇa.
現在已經成為大忿怒者。
And you are the blessed lady Gopā,
而你就是殊勝的耶輸陀羅夫人。
In the form of Prajñāpāramitā.
以般若波羅蜜多的身相。
“As many women as there are,
「有多少婦女,」
All are known to possess your form.
都被認識為具有你的形相。
Men, on the other hand, are all said
另一方面,男性據說都被認為
To be endowed with my form.
都具有我的形相。
“So also does this world exist in a twofold mode,
「如是此世間也存在於二重方式中,
Being of the nature of wisdom and means .”
具有智慧與方便的本性。

10.35The Blessed Lady then said, “Why, O lord, do the listeners and their like belittle women?”

10.35聖女隨後說道:「為什麼,主啊,聲聞及其他眾生要貶低女性呢?」

The blessed lord said:

世尊說:

“They all abide in the realm of desire‍—
「他們全都安住於欲界——
Those who are called listeners and so forth.
那些被稱為聲聞等人。
They do not know the path to liberation
他們不知道解脫的道路
And always see the woman as an ordinary being.
並且始終將女性視為普通人。
“In a situation where saffron and so on is close by
「當番紅花等物體靠近時
And easy to obtain,
而且容易獲得,
It is not fit for a welcome offering.
這不適合作為歡迎供養。
What is far away, however, is suitable for a great welcome offering.
遠方的東西,卻適合用作重大的歡迎供養。
“Because of their ignorance that had no beginning,
因為他們無始以來的無明,
Those people are devoid of faith;
那些人缺乏信心;
They do not turn their minds to the truth‍— [F.320.a]
他們不轉向真實。
I, for my part, have concealed it very well.
我就我的立場而言,已經將其隱藏得非常好。
“But still, during this dark age,
「但是,在這個黑暗時代,
If there is any being among the infinite numbers,
如果在無數的眾生中,有任何一個眾生,
Counted one by one,
逐一計算,
For whom devotion and exertion are paramount,

“It is for the sake of that being that I have explained all this‍—
「我之所以詳細解說這一切,是為了那個眾生——」
For the sake of its swift attainment of awakening.”
為了讓該眾生迅速獲得覺悟。

10.40Thus concludes the chapter on the praiseworthiness of women, the tenth in the glorious Caṇḍa­mahā­roṣaṇa tantra called “The Sole Hero .”
