The Benefits of Possessing the Sūtra
持經的利益
33.1Then the Bhagavān said to the youth Candraprabha, “Therefore, young man, bodhisattva mahāsattvas who wish to train in purifying the great higher cognition of all phenomena should listen to the samādhi, the revealed equality of the nature of all phenomena, learn it, understand it, keep it, recite it to others, promote it, proclaim it, chant it, meditate on it with unadulterated meditation, promulgate it, and make it widely known to others.
33.1薄伽梵對月光青年說:"因此,年輕人,希望修習淨化一切現象的大神通的菩薩摩訶薩應當聽聞這個三摩地——一切現象本性的顯明平等性,學習它、理解它、受持它、向他人誦讀它、推廣它、宣揚它、吟誦它、以無雜染的禪修對它進行冥想、傳播它,並使他人廣泛了知它。"
33.2“Young man, what is the purification of the great higher cognition of all phenomena? It is having no grasping toward all phenomena, it is having no clinging to the aggregate of correct conduct, it is having no pride in the aggregate of samādhi, it is the absence of movement in the aggregate of wisdom, it is having the discerning insight of the aggregate of liberation, and it is seeing correctly as it is the aggregate of the insight of the wisdom of liberation.
33.2「少年啊,什麼是一切現象的大神通的淨化呢?就是對一切現象沒有任何執取,就是對正行集沒有任何執著,就是對三摩地集沒有任何我慢,就是在慧集中沒有任何動搖,就是具足解脫集的明辨洞察力,就是正確地如實看見解脫慧的洞察力集。
33.3“The bodhisattva mahāsattva who has those higher cognitions manifests all the manifestations of samādhi and teaches the Dharma to beings.
33.3「具有那些神通的菩薩摩訶薩,示現三摩地的一切示現,並為生命開示法教。」
“This, young man, is what is called ‘the purification of the great higher cognition of all phenomena.’ ”
33.4Then at that time the Bhagavān gave a detailed Dharma teaching on purifying the great higher cognition of all phenomena by chanting the following extensive verses to the youth Candraprabha:

“The purification of the great higher cognitions「大神通的淨化

“The numerous inconceivable Dharmas「眾多不可思議法

“The one meaning of the differing words「種種言詞的唯一義理
Of the sūtras that have been taught by me我所宣說的諸經
Within thousands of worlds在千個世界之中
Is something that cannot be stated. {5}是無法用言語表達的。
“Through contemplating a single word「通過思惟單一詞句
All of them will be meditated on—所有這些法都將被觀想——
All of the many kinds of Dharma that have been taught所有被闡說的許多種法
By however many buddhas there have been. {6}由歷來所有的佛陀們。
“For people who have mastered the meaning「對於已經領悟了義理的人們
That all phenomena are selfless,一切現象都是無我的,
When they have learned this word當他們學會了這個詞語時
The Dharmas of the Buddha will not be hard to attain. {7}佛陀的法將不難獲得。{7}
“All phenomena are the Buddha’s Dharma.「一切法都是佛陀的法。
They who have learned the nature of phenomena,學悟到法性的人們,
They know the nature of phenomena他們了知法性
And do not contradict the nature of phenomena. {8}不違逆法性。{8}

Although one seeks them in the ten directions雖然在十方尋求它們

As numerous as the sands in the Ganges如恆河沙數般眾多

“They find no pleasure in women「他們在女人身上找不到快樂

And they accomplish immeasurable,他們成就無量的、

The non-grasping of a concept概念的不取

“When does a conception arise?「概念何時產生?
For whom does the conception appear?對誰而言會出現概念?
How does liberation arise解脫如何生起
In the process of the mind? {97}在心的過程中?{97}
“When liberation is experienced,「當體驗到解脫時,
All thoughts become nonthought.所有的念都變成無念。
When thoughts become nonthought,當念變成無念時,
At that time there is nonthought. {98}此時沒有念。{98}
“When one is on the level of thoughts,「當一個人處於念的層面時,
Having thus contemplated,如是觀想後,
All thoughts are eliminated一切念都被消除了
And there is nonthought. {99}並且沒有念。{99}
“This is the ripening of good qualities, [F.108.a]「這是善法的成熟,
Which is seen without mentation,這是不依靠行而能見到的。
And the thoughts of all beings以及一切生命的念。
Are known in a single instant. {100}在一念間便得以知曉。{100}
“As beings are, so are their thoughts;生命如何,念就如何;
As are their thoughts, so are the jinas.念如何,勝者亦如何。
The inconceivable Buddha不可思議的佛陀
Has taught these thoughts. {101}佛陀教導了這些念。{101}
“When will thoughts cease for those「何時念才會止滅於那些
Who think of being alone in solitude?誰在獨處中思念生命?
When they do not think that thought當他們不念那種念時
Then all thoughts will cease to be. {102}那時所有的念都將止息。{102}
“When it comes to the time of death「當死亡的時刻來臨時
And their thoughts are continuing,他們的念頭在持續。
Their consciousness will follow the thoughts他們的識會跟隨念頭
And they will not be free from thought. {103}他們將不會脫離念。{103}
“If a man retains the concept of a woman,「如果一個人保持著對女人的概念,

If this concept has ceased若此概念已止息

It is the unsurpassable thought of the Dharma.這是無上的法之念。
Through this thought of the Dharma通過這種法的念頭
There will be a continuity of correct thoughts. {105}將會有正確念的相續。
“Through incorrect thought「通過不正確的念
There will be numerous, countless thoughts,將會有無數的、不可計數的念。
And though one thinks for a very long time即使一個人思考了很長很長的時間
There will still be no cessation to thinking. {106}思維仍然不會有停止的時候。{106}
“When someone has the thought of a name,當某人生起名稱的念時,
In that cessation there is no wisdom.在那種止息中沒有慧。
There is no cessation in the knowledge of a word—在對詞語的認識中沒有寂止——
That is the nature of cessation. {107}那就是寂滅的本性。
“Through words, speech, and communication,「透過言語、談論和交流,

“The bodhisattvas in meditation禪修中的菩薩們
Do not long for any phenomenon.不要渴望任何現象。
When nothing is apprehended,當沒有任何東西被執著時,
That is called enlightenment. {115}這被稱為菩提。{115}
“There are many who say,「有很多人說,
‘I am in a state of enlightenment,’「我處於菩提的狀態中」

Remaining in higher cognition,住於神通中,

“They maintain the knowledge of contemplation他們保持觀想的知識
And then that knowledge also ceases.然後那種知識也就終止了。
There is an insatiable acquisition有無盡的獲得
Of inconceivable, immeasurable wisdom. {120}具有不可思議、無量的慧。
“Their samādhi and miraculous actions「他們的三摩地與神奇的力用
Are devoid of mentation.遠離諸行。
Such is the ripening of these heroes這就是這些英雄的成熟。

“With these ripened miraculous powers具足這些成熟的神變力

Of the miraculous activities free of mentation. {124}無有行的神變活動。
“All the devas are unable「所有的天神都無法

Only the lords of the worlds,只有世界的主宰者,

They remain in the recognition of nonexistence他們安住在對無的認識中

Of this precious sūtra這部珍貴的經
Will abandon saṃsāra將會捨棄輪迴

“Those who delight in this sūtra「那些喜樂於此經的人們
Are seen by all the buddhas.被所有佛陀所見。
They will serve the buddhas他們將侍奉諸佛陀
And quickly attain enlightenment. {135}並快速證得菩提。{135}
“Those who delight in this sūtra,「那些喜愛這部經的人,
They will have no doubt or uncertainty他們將沒有任何疑惑或不確定。
Concerning the entire Dharma,關於整個法,
And they are near to nirvāṇa. {136}他們接近涅槃。
“They will see a great hero,他們將會看見一位偉大的英雄。
A tathāgata on Gṛdhrakūṭa.靈鷲山上的一位如來。
All the buddhas will give them prophecies所有的佛陀都將為他們授記。
And they will appear to be compassionate jinas. {137}他們將顯現為慈悲的勝者。{137}
“Those who follow this sūtra「那些追隨這部經的人
In this time of destruction在這個壞劫的時代
Will see Buddha Maitreya將見到彌勒菩薩佛陀

“They will remain at the summit of existence,他們將停駐在有的最高峰,
The inconceivable summit of existence,有的不可思議之頂。
And at that inconceivable summit在那不可思議的有的頂峰處

“They will not have any doubt at all,他們根本不會有任何疑惑,
Not even an atom of doubt.絲毫沒有一點疑惑。
As they have eliminated every atom of doubt,因為他們已經消除了一切疑惑。
Enlightenment will not be difficult to attain. {140} [F.109.b]菩提將不難獲得。
“In the terrifying age of destruction在可怕的末法時代
They will undergo hardship,他們將經歷苦難,
Train in this precious sūtra,在這部珍貴的經中修學,
And have an unceasing eloquence. {141}並具有不斷的辯才。{141}
“They will promulgate this sūtra他們將宣傳這部經。
And will guard the treasure of the buddhas.並且將守護佛寶藏。
This is an offering to all the buddhas,這是對所有佛陀的供養,
An inconceivable offering of the Dharma. {142}不可思議的法供養。{142}
“Those who maintain this sūtra那些受持此經的人們
During the cruel age of destruction在殘酷的末法時代
Will without difficulty attain wisdom,將輕易證得慧。
The inconceivable wisdom of buddhahood. {143}不可思議的佛果慧。
“Those who received this sūtra「那些受持這部經的人
From the buddhas of the past從過去的佛陀
Will come into possession of it將會獲得它
And promulgate it in the age of destruction. {144}並在末法時代弘揚它。
“Their voices will proclaim「他們的聲音將宣說
The conduct of the Śākya lion釋迦獅子的行
In the presence of lords of the world在諸世界的主宰面前
In millions of buddha realms. {145}在數百萬個佛剎中。{145}
“And in the presence of the buddhas「而在佛陀們的面前
They will always roar the lion’s roar他們將永遠發出獅子的吼聲
With an endless confidence of speech,以無盡的言語信心,
Teaching the enlightenment of buddhahood. {146}講說成就佛果的菩提。{146}
“Those who have been prophesied by the Buddha「那些已經被佛陀預言的人們
Will be born into the Ikṣvāku family.將生在日族家族中。
They will protect this enlightenment他們將保護這個菩提
During the terrifying age of destruction. {147}在令人恐怖的末法時代。
“Their bodies will be perfect,他們的身體將會完美無缺,
Adorned by the primary signs of a great being.具有大生命的相好裝飾。
They will send emanations他們將會發送化身

“There will be the manifestation將會出現示現

Of crystal, and of silver, {149}水晶的、銀製的,{149}
“And every kind of jewel「以及各種寶

“Teaching this samādhi, this peace「教授這個三摩地,這份寧靜
Is the creation of bodhisattvas.是菩薩的創造。
Whoever wishes to attain enlightenment凡是希望證得菩提的人
Should give the teaching of this sūtra. {161}應該傳授這部經。{161}
“They will be close to the lords of sages「他們將親近聖者之王」
And will be close to buddhahood’s enlightenment.並將接近佛果的菩提。
They will before long attain他們不久將會成就
This level of peace and meditation. {162}這種程度的寧靜與禪修。
“The bodhisattvas, the heroes,「菩薩們,這些英雄,
Always remain in this enlightenment.常住於此菩提中。
They see millions of buddhas他們看到了千百萬尊佛陀
As numerous as the Ganges sands. {163}如恆河沙數般眾多。{163}
“They will become cakravartin kings who rule the world,他們將成為統治世界的轉輪王,
See stainless buddhas who have minds of perfect peace,看見無垢的佛陀,他們的心具足圓滿的寂靜。

“They will make unequaled offerings to those guides他們將向那些導師作出無等的供養
Who have perfect, great fame and are supreme among humans and devas,他們具有完美、偉大的名聞,在人類和天神當中至高無上。
And they will cast aside the kingdom like spittle,他們將像吐痰一樣丟棄王國,
And pure, perfectly pure, will practice celibacy. {165}並且純淨、完全純淨,將修習梵行。{165}
“They will enter homelessness in the Sage’s teaching他們將在聖者的教法中出家。
And obtain the peace of this stainless samādhi. [F.110.b]並獲得這個無染三摩地的寧靜。

The empty nature that is constant, stainless peacefulness. {167}恆常、無垢、寂靜的空性本質。
“They have profound realization, continuous endless realization,「他們有深刻的現證,連續不斷的無盡現證,
A vast realization, a realization that is incalculably beneficial.廣大的現證,一種利益無量的現證。

“Having attained this peace, this stainless samādhi,獲得了這份寧靜,這無垢的三摩地,

Unsullied, always free of the kleśas,清淨無垢,始終遠離煩惱,
And lead millions of other beings to be the same. {169}並引領數百萬其他生命也達到同樣的境地。{169}
“Having attained this peace, this stainless samādhi,「已證得此安樂,此無垢三摩地,
They will have exceedingly sharp wisdom, supreme wisdom;他們將具有極其銳利的慧,無上智;
They will gain an ocean of learning and always have infinite understanding,他們將獲得慧學的大海,並常常擁有無限的理解。
Virtuous speech, excellent understanding, and knowledge of the instructions. {170}善妙的言語、卓越的理解,以及對教法的認識。{170}

In this human world they will not have any illness,在這個人類世界中,他們將不會有任何病。
No physical pain, nor likewise mental pain,沒有身體的病痛,也沒有心理的病痛,
No toothache, and similarly no headache. {175} [F.111.a]沒有牙痛,同樣也沒有頭痛。
“Having attained this peace, this stainless samādhi,「已經證得這份寂靜,這清淨的三摩地,
They will never have any illness occur:他們永遠不會有任何病發生:
None of the various sicknesses of the mortal world,凡世間各種的病痛都不會有,
Whether physical illness or likewise mental illness. {176}無論是身體的病,或者同樣的心理上的病。

“Just as it is not easy, using pigments,「正如用顏料,要在空中描繪各種色相,並不容易一樣,
To paint various forms in the air,用顏料在虛空中繪畫各種色相,

“Just as the wind blows in the four directions,「就如同風吹向四方,

And obtain from it a bowl of sesame oil,從中獲得一碗麻油,
But it is not so easy to know the mind of someone但是要了解某人的心,卻並非如此容易。
Who has meditated on this stainless samādhi of peace. {183}誰曾修習這清淨的三摩地安樂。{183}
“Someone may be able to catch in their hands「有人或許能夠用雙手捕捉
The lightning that flashes from the thundering clouds,從雷鳴的雲層閃現的閃電,
But it is not so easy to know the extent of the mind of someone但是,要了解某人的心的廣大程度是不容易的。
Who has meditated on this stainless samādhi of peace. {184} [F.111.b]誰曾修習過這個清淨的平靜三摩地。
“One may be able to know the languages of all beings,「有人可能能夠知曉一切生命的語言,
The beings in the buddha realms in the ten directions,十方佛剎中的生命,
But it is not so easy to know the heights of the mind但是,要認識心的深度並不容易。
Of bodhisattvas who have attained this samādhi. {185}已證得此三摩地的菩薩。{185}
“When they have attained this stainless samādhi of peace「當他們證得這個無染的寂靜三摩地時
They will have no kleśas and be undefiled.他們將沒有煩惱,並且無染。
Those who have attained this samādhi of peace已證得此寧靜三摩地的菩薩
Will never again have attachment to the three existences. {186}將永遠不再執著於三界。{186}
“Having attained this stainless samādhi of peace,「證得了這個無染的三摩地寂靜,
They have no longing for objects of desire, no longing for forms;他們對欲望的對象沒有渴望,對色也沒有渴望;
They have no longing for women and have unconfused minds.他們不貪戀女人,心念也不混亂。
They are peaceful, completely peaceful, and undefiled. {187}他們平靜、完全平靜,且無染。{187}
“Having attained this stainless samādhi of peace,「已經證得這個無染的寂靜三摩地,
They have no longing for sons, no longing for daughters;他們沒有渴望兒子,也沒有渴望女兒;
They have no longing for a wife, and no longing for attendants.他們沒有對妻子的渴望,也沒有對侍者的渴望。
Their conduct is peaceful and they are undefiled. {188}他們的行是安寧的,並且他們是無染的。
“They have no longing for gold and no longing for wealth.他們不渴望黃金,也不渴望財富。

The wise are not generous out of yearning for a higher rebirth;智慧者並非因為渴望更高的轉生而行布施。
Bodhisattvas are generous because they desire enlightenment.菩薩行布施是因為他們渴望菩提。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {190}這就是這個三摩地成就的獨特之處。{190}
“Those who accomplish this stainless samādhi「成就此無垢三摩地的人們
Do not practice asceticism in order to have a kingdom,不要為了擁有王國而修行苦行,
Nor in order to become sovereign over the three existences.也不是為了要成為三界的統治者。
They benefit many beings because they long for enlightenment. {191}他們利益眾多生命,因為他們渴望菩提。
“They have no longing for songs and no longing for dance,他們對歌唱沒有渴望,對舞蹈也沒有渴望。
They have no longing for incense and no longing for drink,他們不貪戀香氣,也不貪戀飲品。
And they have no longing for food and no longing for clothes.他們不渴望食物,也不渴望衣服。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {i}這就是這種三摩地成就的獨特之處。
“They have no longing for eyes and no longing for ears,「他們對眼睛沒有渴求,對耳朵也沒有渴求,
They have no longing for a nose and no longing for a tongue,他們對鼻子沒有渴望,對舌頭也沒有渴望,
And they have no longing for a body and no longing for a mind.他們沒有對身體的渴望,也沒有對心的渴望。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {ii}這就是這種三摩地成就的獨特之處。
“They have no longing for home and no longing for the forest, [F.112.a]他們對家園沒有渴望,對林也沒有渴望,
They have no longing for a monastery and no longing for a village,他們對寺院沒有渴望,對村莊也沒有渴望,
And they have no longing for a region and no longing for a town.他們對地區沒有渴望,也對城鎮沒有渴望。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {iii}這就是這個三摩地成就的獨特之處。
“They have no longing for generosity and no longing for conduct,「他們對佈施沒有渴望,對行為也沒有渴望,
They have no longing for patience and no longing for diligence,他們對忍沒有渴望,對精進也沒有渴望,
And they have no longing for meditation and no longing for wisdom.他們對禪修沒有渴望,對慧也沒有渴望。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {iv}這就是這種三摩地成就的獨特之處。
“They have no longing for being and no longing for life,他們對生命沒有渴望,對生活也沒有渴望,
They have no longing for the Buddha and no longing for the Dharma,他們對佛陀沒有渴望,對法也沒有渴望。
And they have no longing for the Saṅgha and no longing for enlightenment.他們對僧伽沒有渴望,對菩提也沒有渴望。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {v}這就是這種三摩地成就的獨特之處。
“They have no longing for existence and no longing for nonexistence,他們對於有沒有渴望,對於無也沒有渴望,
They have no longing for the middle way and no longing for the extremes,他們對中道沒有貪戀,對極端也沒有貪戀。
And they have no longing for everything and no longing for nothing.他們對一切都沒有渴望,對無也沒有渴望。
That is the uniqueness of this attainment of samādhi. {vi}這就是這個三摩地成就的獨特之處。
“When they have attained this stainless samādhi of peace,「當他們證得這清淨的寧靜三摩地時,
Desire can never cause them harm.欲永遠不能傷害他們。
Those who yearn for women have confused minds渴望女色的人心智混亂
And they know that this is the nature of desire. {192}他們知道這就是欲的本性。
“When they have attained this stainless samādhi of peace,「當他們證得這清淨的平靜三摩地時,
Anger can never cause them harm.瞋恨永遠無法對他們造成傷害。
The wise ones destroy malice;智慧的人摧毀瞋恨。
Through love they completely overcome anger. {193}他們通過愛完全克服瞋恨。{193}
“Ignorance can never cause them harm;無明不能傷害他們;
Wisdom eliminates ignorance and stupidity.慧能消除無明和愚癡。
They attain measureless wisdom free of darkness.他們獲得無量的慧,光明無比。
These qualities from attaining samādhi are measureless. {194}這些從獲得三摩地而來的功德是無量的。{194}
“Desire is always overcome by repulsiveness.欲總是被厭惡所克服。
Anger is constantly defeated by love.瞋恨時時被愛所克服。
Wisdom cuts through ignorance, the net of the kleśas.慧能夠斬斷無明,以及煩惱的網羅。
Those who have attained samādhi are majestic to the whole world. {195}已得三摩地的人對整個世界都是莊嚴的。{195}
“Sleep can never cause them harm.「睡眠永遠無法傷害他們。
They eliminate the various subsidiary kleśas.他們消除了各種次要的煩惱。
They are undefiled and liberated.他們無染且得到解脫。
These qualities from attaining samādhi are measureless. {196}這些從證得三摩地所獲得的功德是無量無邊的。
“Desire can never cause harm「欲望永遠不能造成傷害
To the bodhisattvas who possess this samādhi. [F.112.b]對於具有這個三摩地的菩薩。
They delight always in generosity:他們常常以佈施而感到喜悅:
They give away their possessions and give happiness. {197}他們捨棄自己的財產,給予他人快樂。
“The bodhisattvas who possess this samādhi具有此三摩地的菩薩們
Possess power that is beyond compare.具有無比的力量。
At all times they are in the possession of strength.他們時時都擁有力量。
There is no one who is their equal in the world. {198}在這個世界上沒有人能與他們相比。
“They become cakravartins in this world.他們在這個世界成為轉輪王。
They come to Jambudvīpa as the sovereign of humans他們成為贍部洲的人類君主
And many beings make offerings to them,許多生命都對他們進行供養,
And in particular they attain the unique wisdom free of darkness. {199}他們特別獲得了無暗的殊勝慧。
“Such bodhisattvas become the leaders in a special, jewellike family.這樣的菩薩成為特殊、寶貴家族中的領導者。
They have great wealth and are lords over many people.他們擁有巨大的財富,並統治著許多人民。
They have horses, elephants, and perfect chariots to ride upon.他們擁有馬匹、象隻和完美的車乘供其乘坐。

“Those who have faith in the supreme wisdom of the Buddha,「那些對佛陀的無上智具有信心的人,

They are born there into special, jewellike families他們生於該處,進入特殊的、如寶石般的家族

“They attain unequaled, highest enlightenment他們獲得無等的、最高的菩提
And turn the unequaled Dharma wheel in buddha realms.並在佛剎中轉動無等的法輪。
Those who then know that Dharma wheel那些隨後了知那個法輪的人
Will all remain in the birthlessness of phenomena. {203}都將安住於諸法無生之中。
“The bodhisattvas will perform many activities.菩薩將會執行許多活動。
Beings will constantly make offerings to them.生命將不斷向他們供養。
They will constantly accomplish unequaled benefit.他們將不斷成就無等的利益。
They will remove the darkness from the eyes of beings. {204}他們將驅除眾生眼中的黑暗。
{205}生命將不斷向他們供養。
他們將不斷成就無等的利益。
他們將消除生命眼中的黑暗。{204}
“The bodhisattvas, joyous, with loving minds「菩薩們歡喜雀躍,以慈愛的心
And unstained, will become buddhas.而且不受染污,將成為佛陀。
Wherever those bodhisattvas are present那些菩薩所在之處
They will create an immeasurable benefit for beings. {206}他們將為生命創造無量的利益。{206}
“They will protect correct conduct and have matchless celibacy.他們將守護正行,擁有無與倫比的梵行。
They will meditate on samādhi for many endless eons. [F.113.a]他們將在無量無盡的劫中修習三摩地。
They will constantly have certainty in dhyāna and liberation.他們會始終對禪定和解脫保持確定不移的信心。
Those bodhisattvas will be the sons of the buddhas. {207}那些菩薩將成為諸佛陀的兒子。
“They always practice the bases of miraculous powers,他們常常修習神變的基礎,
And they go to various infinite realms.他們去往各種無限的世界。
They listen to the Dharma taught by the sugatas他們聽聞善逝所宣說的法
And, having the power of retention, they remember everything. {208}具有陀羅尼力的菩薩,他們能記住一切。
“Those bodhisattvas who have the power of retention「具有陀羅尼力的菩薩們
Teach endless, countless sūtras.傳授無盡、無數的經。
Those bodhisattvas who have the power of retention具有陀羅尼力的菩薩們
Accomplish countless benefits for beings. {209}為生命成就無量的利益。
“They know the deaths and rebirths他們了知生命的死亡和再生。
And the coming and going of beings,以及生命的往來。
What kind of actions they do,他們做什麼樣的行為
And the ripening of their karma. {210}以及他們業的成熟。
“In that transference of karma「在那業的轉移中
There are not even atoms to be found.甚至找不到原子。
Those greatly famous bodhisattvas那些極其著名的菩薩

He sits at the Bodhimaṇḍa.他坐在菩提道場。
Once he has sat at the Bodhimaṇḍa一旦他坐在菩提道場
The conceptions of Māra cease. {216}魔的概念消失了。{216}
“The wise one does not see「智慧者不見
Māra and Māra ’s army,魔和魔的軍隊,
And neither does he see他也不見

“All the composite phenomena there are,「一切有為法,
And all the noncomposite phenomena—以及一切無為法——
All phenomena are understood一切現象都被理解

And that lion’s roar arises.獅子吼也由此而生起。
Knowing this process of arising,了知這個現起的過程,

Phenomena are produced dependently.現象是依緣而生的。
The wise ones know the entirety智慧者知曉一切

They have complete understanding through emptiness.他們通過空而具有完整的理解。
They have wisdom concerning states of existence.他們對有的狀態具有慧。
They have complete understanding of all phenomena. {224}他們對所有現象有完整的理解。
On seeking for these states of existence,在尋求這些有的狀態時,
The bodhisattva does not find them.菩薩找不到它們。
That is the same as the inconceivable knowledge那就是不可思議的智慧。
Of all the buddhas concerning states of existence. {225}關於所有佛陀對於有的狀態的認識。
“The one who has that complete knowledge「具有那圓滿知識的人
Knows all states of existence.了知一切有。
Knowing the characteristic of the true Dharma,了知真實法的特性,
He brings to an end all illusions. {226}他使一切幻相終止。{226}
“Knowing the characteristic of the true Dharma,了知真法的特性,
He gazes upon all the realms.他凝視著所有的世界。
Having gazed upon all the realms,遍觀一切界,
He seats himself at the Bodhimaṇḍa. {i}他坐在菩提道場。{i}
“Having sat at the Bodhimaṇḍa,「坐在菩提道場後,
There is the sound of the lion’s roar,獅子吼的聲音就這樣響遍各處,
Which thus resounds throughout這樣迴盪遍滿整個虛空
Countless, innumerable millions of realms. {227}無數無量的百萬世界。
“All those greatly renowned buddha heroes「所有那些大名鼎鼎的佛陀英雄
Also cause those realms to shake.也令那些世界震動。
The leader of beings guides beings生命的導師引導著眾多生命
In the way that they are to be guided. {228}按照他們應該被引導的方式。
“Having reached the highest enlightenment,達到了最高的菩提,
He rises from the Bodhimaṇḍa.他從菩提道場升起。
He guides the countless, innumerable beings他引導無數無量的生命
Who are to be guided. {229}應當被導引的眾生。
“Then the Buddha emanates「隨後,佛陀化身
Infinite buddha emanations.無量的佛陀化身。
These buddha emanations go這些佛陀化身前往
To thousands of millions of realms. {230}到數千百萬個世界。{230}
“They lead countless millions「他們引領無數百萬的生命
Of beings to the highest enlightenment. [F.114.a]將無數百萬的生命引導至最高菩提。
He teaches the supreme Dharma他教導至高無上的法
For the benefit of all beings. {231}為了利益所有生命。
“That kind of great wisdom"那種偉大的慧
Is the inconceivable wisdom of a buddha.是佛陀不可思議的慧。
Therefore develop the aspiration,因此,培養菩提願心,
The supreme aspiration to enlightenment. {232}對菩提的最高願心。
“Develop veneration for those with the highest qualities:「應當對具有最高品質的聖者培養恭敬:
The Buddha, the Dharma, and the Saṅgha,佛陀、法和僧伽,
And the heroes, the bodhisattvas,還有那些英勇的菩薩們,
Who seek for the highest enlightenment. {233}尋求最高菩提的那些人。
“Without becoming disheartened,「不要氣餒,
Venerate them unflaggingly,恭敬供養他們,不要懈怠。
And become before long並且不久便成為
An illuminating buddha. {234}一位光耀的佛陀。
“Those bodhisattvas who come here「那些來到這裡的菩薩
From thousands of realms從千個世界
See the lamp of the world看見世間燈
Teaching the supreme Dharma. {235}傳授至高的法。
“Those great heroes throw down那些偉大的英雄投擲
Great jewels for the Guide,導師的大寶,
And in order to attain enlightenment為了獲得菩提
They cast down coral tree flowers. {236}他們拋下珊瑚樹的花。
“They adorn this realm,他們裝飾這個界,
The highest buddha realm.最高的佛陀界。
All of the ten directions十方的一切
Are covered with networks of jewels. {237}被寶的網所覆蓋。{237}
“They string up flags「他們掛起旗幢
And erect millions of banners,並豎立了百萬個幢旗,
And they adorn this realm他們用無盡的妝飾來莊嚴這個界。
With endless adornments. {238}用無盡的莊嚴來裝飾。{238}
“They create countless, beautiful他們創造無數美妙的
Pinnacled halls with balconies,尖頂的大廳配有陽台,
Upper chambers, and towers上層樓閣和塔樓
Adorned with every jewel. {239}用各種寶所莊嚴。{239}
“They create palaces with crescents,「他們創造有新月裝飾的宮殿,」
Round windows and aviaries,圓形的窗戶和鳥舍,
Incense, banners, and vases,香、幢旗和花瓶,

“The aroma of incense香的香氣
Spreads through this buddha realm.遍佈於此佛界。
That delightful incense那美妙的香氣

A rain of incense falls.香雨紛紛而下。
Those who smell that incense聞到那香氣的眾生
Become buddhas, guides. {242}成為佛陀、導師。
“They cast away the pain of desire.「他們捨棄了欲望的痛苦。
They do not have anger and craving.他們沒有瞋恨和貪欲。
The net of ignorance is destroyed無明的網被摧毀了
And all darkness comes to an end. {243}一切黑暗都走向了終結。

Will have delight in their minds心裡會得到喜樂
And all their illnesses will cease. {253}他們所有的病都會消除。
“Desire, anger, and ignorance欲、瞋恨和無明
Will cease without trace.將會完全消除。
When those three faults have ceased in them當那三種過失在他們身中消除時
They will be buddhas who bestow happiness. {254}他們將成為佛陀,給予眾生幸福。
“From them are emitted sounds,"從他們發出的聲音,
Countless numbers of the word buddha.無數個「佛陀」二字。

The inconceivable word dharma. {i}不可思議的法字。
“The birds that are parrots, geese,「那些鸚鵡、鴈般的鳥類,
Ducks, shelducks, and swans鴨、普通鴨和天鵝
Also sing out a word,也唱出一個詞,
The unsurpassable word saṅgha . {ii}無上之言僧伽。
“All the birds that there are「一切存在的鳥類
In the deva or the human worlds在天界或人類的世界中
Are continuously singing都在不斷地唱誦
Praises of the Three Jewels. {iii}對三寶的讚歎。{iii}
Are manifested in this realm.在這個界中顯現。
Those delightful jewel trees那些令人喜悅的寶樹
Are uniquely beautiful. {259}獨特地美妙。{259}
“On all those trees are hung在所有那些樹上都懸掛著
Every kind of ornament.各種裝飾品。
They have manifested in this realm它們已經在這個界中顯現出來
Through the power of the Buddha. {260}藉由佛陀的力量。
“This display does not exist「這個顯現並不存在
Anywhere in any realm.在任何界中的任何地方。
This unique, superior sight這獨特、殊勝的景象

The greatly famed bodhisattvas名聞遠播的偉大菩薩們
Have no doubt in that wisdom. {262}對那慧不要有疑惑。
“They comprehend that highest point.他們領悟那最高的境界。
Their way is inconceivable.他們的方式不可思議。
Their wisdom increases他們的慧增長
Like an ocean into which rivers flow. {263}如同大海納受諸河流入。
“They have no final end.他們沒有最終的盡頭。
It is like drinking an ocean.這就像飲用大海一樣。
This is the inconceivable way這是不可思議的方法
Of the bodhisattvas that has been taught. {264}已教導的菩薩之中。
“The greatly famed bodhisattvas,「那些名聞遐邇的菩薩,
The heroes, are at the highest point.這些英雄已經達到了最高境界。
They give forth aspects of speech他們展現言語的特質
That are as numerous as the Ganges sands. {265}其數量如同恆河沙粒一般眾多。{265}
“There is such inconceivable speech「有如此不可思議的言語
But the bodhisattvas have no pride.但菩薩沒有傲慢。
They have eliminated pride他們已經消除了驕慢
And are near to enlightenment, {266}並且接近菩提,
“They will not ruin their correct conduct他們不會摧毀他們的正行
Even for the sake of their life.即使是為了他們的生命。
The bodhisattvas are resolute [F.115.b]菩薩們堅定不移 [F.115.b]
And behave immaculately. {267}並且行為清淨無垢。
“They do not become ruined他們不會被摧毀
By any concept of desire.以任何欲望的概念。
They have eliminated all conceptions他們已經消除了所有的概念
And they have countless samādhis. {268}他們擁有無數個三摩地。{268}
“They practice them while in meditation他們在禪修中修持它們
Yet have no attachment to those samādhis.然而他們對那些三摩地沒有執著。
They have no clinging, they are attentive,他們沒有執著,他們是警惕的,
And they have no attachment to the world. {269}他們對世界也沒有執著。
“When they leave this world當他們離開這個世界時
They go to Sukhāvatī.他們前往極樂世界。
When they have arrived there當他們抵達那裡時
They see Buddha Amitābha. {270}他們看見阿彌陀佛。{270}
“Those bodhisattva heroes「那些菩薩英雄
Are adorned by the primary signs.具足相好而莊嚴。
They have reached the domain of the five higher cognitions,他們已經達到五通的境界,
Great wisdom, and the retentions. {271}偉大的慧和陀羅尼。
“They go to millions of realms他們前往數百萬個世界
And bow down to the feet of the buddhas.禮拜諸佛陀的雙足。
Shining, they travel閃耀著,他們遊行
To countless buddha realms. {272}到無數的佛剎。
“They have eliminated all faults「他們已經消除了一切過失
And are purified of all kleśas.並清淨了一切煩惱。
With the kleśas completely eradicated煩惱已徹底消除
They are one lifetime from becoming a jina. {273}他們距離成為勝者只有一世之遠。{273}
“They will not go to the lower realms.他們不會墮入惡趣。
From that realm of humans從人類的世界
All rebirth into the lower realms所有轉生到惡趣的情況
Has been eradicated in that realm. {274}已在那個世界中被消除。{274}
“Do not doubt what has been revealed「不要懷疑已經顯示的事物
Concerning that protector,關於那位保護者,
The Lord of the World, Amitābha,世界之主阿彌陀,
And you will go to Sukhāvatī. {275}你就會往生到極樂世界。{275}
“A woman who has faith on hearing一個女人聽聞後生起信心
The praise of this precious sūtra這部寶貴經典的讚歎
Will soon become a superior wise man不久將成為殊勝的智者
Who miraculously goes to billions of realms. {276}神通奇異地往往於數十億個世界中。{276}
“Many offerings of innumerable kinds,「許多無數種類的供養,
Offered continuously to supreme beings持續供養至高無上的生命
Within the appearance of a quintillion realms,在無數千億世界的顯現中,
Cannot equal a fraction of a loving mind. {277}不能等於一個充滿慈愛心念的一分。{277}
“Those who always practice correct conduct and samādhi,「那些經常修持正行和三摩地的人,
And also countless dhyānas and liberations,以及無數的禪定與解脫,
Who always practice emptiness devoid of attributes—經常修習空性,遠離一切相——
They will soon become sugatas in the world. {278}他們將很快成為世界中的善逝。
“The bodhisattvas who maintain the aggregate of correct conduct「維持正行集的菩薩
Make the greatest, most special offering to me.向我做出最大、最殊勝的供養。
Those who maintain the aspiration to enlightenment in the time of degeneration那些在末法時代保持菩提願心的人
Are continuously making an offering to all the buddhas. {279} [F.116.a]正在持續地向所有佛陀做出供養。
“The bodhisattvas in the dreadful time of degeneration「在可怖的末法時代中的菩薩們
Who protect this supreme Dharma taught by the sugatas,誰能保護善逝所傳的這至高無上的法。
Are my offspring and protectors of the Dharma in the later times.是我的傳承者,是後世時代中法的保護者。
They have been entrusted by ten billion buddhas.” {280}他們已被十億尊佛陀所托付。
