託付的利益

15.1“Furthermore, Dṛḍhamati, in order to swiftly actualize the superknowledges, one should eagerly undertake the worship, restoration, and cleansing of stūpas. For, Dṛḍhamati, any noble son or daughter who cleans a stūpa of the thus-gone ones will acquire four pristine, excellent aspirations. What are those four aspirations? They are the pristine, excellent aspiration for one’s form; the pristine, excellent aspiration for perfect leisure; the pristine, excellent aspiration for the stability of one’s vows; and the pristine, excellent aspiration for beholding thus-gone ones.

15.1「再者,堅慧,為了迅速成就神通,應當熱切地承擔禮拜、修復和清潔塔廟的工作。堅慧,任何清潔如來塔廟的善男子或善女人,將獲得四種清淨、殊勝的願望。那四種願望是什麼呢?它們是對自身色相的清淨、殊勝願望;對完滿閒暇的清淨、殊勝願望;對自身誓願穩固性的清淨、殊勝願望;以及對見到如來的清淨、殊勝願望。」

“The accomplishment of virtuously engendering aspirations
「善根發願的成就」
Is that thus-gone ones will emerge,
就是如來將會出現,
Just as emanations emerge
就如顯現一樣出現
Through the discernment of apprehending.
通過理解的慧。
“Wheels on the soles of the feet and below the toes
足下輪相及趾下輪相
Will appear among their marks.
將會出現在他們的標記中。
I will explain such a sublime confluence of features as this,
我將為你解說像這樣殊勝的相好匯聚。
So listen carefully!
所以要仔細聽著!
“My marks are likewise perfectly apparent;
「我的相好同樣清晰明顯;
They are evenly distributed on my fingers and toes.
它們均勻地分佈在我的手指和腳趾上。
Perfectly exalted and evenly distributed,
完全殊勝且均勻分佈,
Their distribution is extremely exalted.
它們的分布極其殊勝。
“The luminosity of my marks is exalted,
「我的標誌之光輝是至高無上的,
And shines like ten million light rays.
光芒照耀如千萬道光線。
Standing flooded with light, like Mount Meru,
如須彌山般沐浴在光中而站立,
My body is crowned with a net of light rays.
我的身體頂上籠罩著光線的寶蓋。
“On those marks, which embody the essence,
「在那些標記上,體現了本質,
One hundred million light rays are present.
一億道光線遍處呈現。
The names of each of them are different,
它們各自的名字都不相同,
And so is their luminosity and color.
它們的光明和色彩也各不相同。
“From one of my light rays another thousand lights emerge,

Which are all present in multiple colors.

They will perform the deeds of awakened ones,

Even after the earth throughout the trichiliocosm has collapsed.

“I was born from the light of awakening;

I did not come from the fruition of actions.

Upon seeing the light of thus-gone ones,
看到如來的光芒時,
Men and women become intoxicated.
男人和女人都陷入迷醉之中。
“Thus-gone ones will manifest for many tens of millions of eons,
「如來將在許多數千萬劫中顯現,
Or in the arrays of different buddha realms. [F.226.a]
或在不同佛剎的集會中。
Wherever I performed awakened deeds,
無論我在何處進行了覺悟的行為,
Victorious ones will likewise manifest miraculous displays.
勝者們也同樣會展現神奇的顯現。
“My absorption is all-illuminating;
「我的定是遍照一切的;
It fully illuminates buddha realms.
它圓滿照亮佛剎。
The so-called luminous banner of Meru is exalted,
所謂的須彌光明幢是受尊崇的,
And the absorption called valiant progress is exalted.
和稱為勇猛精進的定被尊崇。
“Among those with an all-pervasive vision of phenomena,
「在那些對法具有遍一切處的視見的人當中,
Some pristine ones will see buddhas manifesting here.
有些清淨的眾生將在此見到諸佛示現。
Some will see them entering the womb, being born,
有些眾生將看到諸佛投生入胎、出生、
And fearlessly and audaciously taking seven steps here.
無畏而勇敢地在此邁出七步。
“Thinking, ‘The victorious one will awaken to buddhahood,’
「想著『勝者將證得佛果』,」
They will see buddhas seated in awakening at the center of the earth.
他們將看到諸佛坐於大地中心,證得菩提。
Some will think they will turn the wheel of Dharma.
有些人會想著他們將轉動法輪。
Some will think they will act for the sake of awakening.
有些人會想他們將為了菩提而行動。
“Look at the radiance of that absorption,
「看那定的光輝,
Which produces these miraculous displays!
這些神奇的顯現都由它產生!
Some will think that my life span is an eon.
有些人會認為我的壽命是一劫。
Some, however, will think it is half an eon.
有些人則會認為是半個劫。
“Then, some will think it is an intermediate eon‍—
「然後,有些人會認為那是一個中間劫——
Others, that it is two, three, four, or more eons.
有的認為是兩劫、三劫、四劫或更多劫。
Then, some will think that it is ten million years,
然後,有些人會認為它是一千萬年,
And some will fully see the actual length.
有些人會完全看清楚我的實際壽命。
“Humans will perceive that my life span
「人會認為我的壽命
In this Jampudvīpa is eighty years.
在這閻浮提中是八十年。
Some will perceive my life span to be a day and a night;
有些人會認為我的壽命只有一日一夜。
Some will perceive my life span to be long.
有人會認為我的壽命很長。
“Still others will think that it is like a day and a night
還有的人會認為這如同一日一夜
For the gods in this trichiliocosm.
對於這三千大千世界中的天神。
Beings will understand precisely according to their inclinations,
眾生會根據他們的傾向而準確地理解。
And oral instructions will be dispensed to them accordingly.
並依照他們的根性而為他們傳授口訣教法。
“They will likewise by transformed according to their inclinations,
他們也將根據各自的傾向而得到轉化,
As wisdom is likewise taught to them accordingly.
智慧也會同樣根據他們的情況而教導他們。
Through being so taught, their interest will be aroused‍—
通過這樣的教導,眾生的興趣將被喚起——
This is the marvel of the supernatural powers.
這是神通的奇妙之處。
“If their own state of being were revealed,
「如果他們自己的眾生狀態被揭示出來,
Unwise people would go mad.
不聰慧的眾生會發狂。
Who would not be gladdened
誰不會感到歡喜
Upon seeing what my experience and state of being are?
看到我的經歷和狀態的眾生,有誰不會歡喜呢?
“Those who have understood my experience
「那些已經領悟我的經歷
Will turn the wheel of Dharma.
將轉法輪。
Yet when preaching the Dharma for a variety of inclinations,
然而當為各種根性的眾生宣說法時,
They will not fully understand my experience.
他們將無法完全理解我的經驗。
“Those who do not understand the experience of the omniscient
「那些不理解一切智者的體驗的人們
Will only teach a few expressions of Dharma.
只能教導少許的法的表述。
Seeing that they have no perception whatsoever,
看見他們毫無想念,
Their minds will be damaged.
他們的意會受到傷害。
“Those who understand the reality of the thus-gone ones
「那些瞭解如來的真實性質的人
Are never mentally damaged.
永遠不會意識受損。
They all adhere to such an experience
他們都依循這樣的體驗。
Of the sameness of phenomena. [F.226.b]
法的平等性。
“Except for these eight monks
「除了這八位比丘之外
Who are seated in front of me with palms joined,
他們都在我面前合掌而坐。
There will never be anyone here in the future, Dṛḍhamati,
堅慧啊,今後這裡絕不會有任何人,
To uphold this sūtra.
為了總持此經。
“Dṛḍhamati, they have continually partaken
堅慧,他們持續不斷地參與
Of the incomparable experience of past buddhas.
過去諸佛無與倫比的體驗。
They have always approached,
他們一直親近,
Being vessels for the Dharma.
眾生乘載法的容器。
“They fully took on the mind of awakening,
他們圓滿地承擔起菩提心,
And were continually praised by buddhas.
並且他們不斷被諸佛所讚歎。
I know that just as they sit before me,
我知道就如同他們坐在我面前一樣,
So too did they in the past.
過去他們也是如此。
“They have sat in the presence of as many victorious ones
「他們曾在如恆河沙粒數量般眾多的勝者面前盤坐修行
As there are grains of sand in the river Ganges.
如恆河沙粒一樣眾多。
They will be present later, in the final five hundred years of the Dharma,
他們將會在末法時期出現,
When I too will uphold that supreme awakening.
當我也將總持那無上覺悟。
“In later times, the wisdom of the victorious ones will be theirs,
「到了後來的時代,勝者的智慧將會是他們的,
And you too, Dṛḍhamati, will be courageous in it.
你也會在其中表現得勇敢,堅慧。
There will also be eight million other heroes
還會有八百萬其他英雄
Who will set out to uphold all teachings.
他們將承擔維護一切教法的使命。
“I too will listen to the Dharma there.
「我也將在那裡聽聞法。
Having heard it, I will abide by the Dharma,
聽聞以後,我將遵守這個法。
Practicing it without respite.
不間斷地修持它。
Then I will teach it.
然後我會傳授它。
“And by teaching it, I will prophesy supreme awakening.
「並且通過教導它,我將預言無上覺悟。」
Upon hearing their own predictions given,
聽聞了自己的預言被賜予,
May the eight million be filled with joy,
願八百萬眾生充滿喜悅。
And levitate to a height of seven palm trees.”
並且浮升到七棵棕櫚樹的高度。
The Savior of the World then said to Ānanda,
世間的救主就對阿難說:
“Would you be delighted and able
「你能夠歡喜且有能力
To uphold this Dharma
為了執持這部法
For the wicked in the future?”
對於未來的惡人?
“I would not be so delighted,” he said to the Blessed One.
「我不會那麼歡喜,」他對世尊說。
The victorious one then knowingly said to Kāśyapa,
勝者於是知而告迦葉:
“Kāśyapa, will you uphold this Dharma?
「迦葉,你願意總持此法嗎?
You should uphold the Dharma once I have passed!”
你應該在我涅槃之後總持這部法!
“I would not delight in doing so,” said Kāśyapa.
迦葉說:「我不樂於如此做。」
“This trichiliocosm upholds all people,
「這三千大千世界容納了一切眾生,
Oceans, mountains, and forests,
大海、山嶺和森林,
And delights in bearing many other loads besides.
並且樂於承擔許多其他的負擔。
“But I would not delight in carrying this load.
「但我不樂於承擔此負擔。
Who will uphold the Dharma in the future?
誰將在未來總持法?
It would be very difficult for me to control the monks.
我很難控制這些比丘。
As they will not abide by this teaching, [F.227.a]
因為他們不會遵守這個教法,
“There is no need to mention that the guide of the world will have passed beyond.
「不必說世間導師已經涅槃了。」
They will say, ‘Kāśyapa, you have become too old,’

And so, in the future, my words will not be followed.
因此,在未來,我的教言將不被遵循。
They will not abide by my teachings.

“Thinking, ‘We are adept in this and reflect on its meaning,’

They will reflect upon poetics and materialism,

And likewise adhere to mundane grammar.

Discarding concentration and absorption,
捨棄定,
“They cavort with the worldly.

They will be prosperous and widely renowned,
他們將會興盛繁榮,聞名廣遠。
And continually regarded by the world.
並且受到世界的持續尊敬。
I could never examine them,
我無法詳盡地觀察他們,
“And I see severe problems.

While I was dwelling alone in the forest,
我獨自住在森林裡時,
A god appeared and said to me,

‘The victorious ones have taught such a Dharma.

“ ‘Many beings have been tamed in the Dharma of the noble ones.
「許多眾生在聖者的法中得到調伏。
Monks have become adept in concentration and absorption,

And perfected the liberations, miraculous abilities, and powers.

Hearing this, Śakra will be pleased.
帝釋聞此,心生歡喜。
“ ‘How amazing this is today!’
「今日甚奇妙啊!」
Later he will come to me,
之後他將來到我這裡,
And crying unhappily, declare,
並哭著不開心地宣佈說,
‘Kāśyapa, the Dharma will soon disappear.’
「迦葉,法即將消失。」
“Hearing that I will be upset,
「聽到這些,我會感到不安,」
And not be eager to teach much.
不樂宣傳太多。
I am not eager to uphold that sūtra,
我不樂於總持那部經。
For the monks will cower before it.
因為比丘將會對此感到畏懼。
“They will not be pleased with the supreme speech,
他們不會對至高的言語感到歡喜。
And then the divine assembly will gather there.”
那時神聖的集會就會聚集在那裡。
The Blessed One said to Kāśyapa,
世尊對迦葉說:
“I already knew, Kāśyapa, that the way of Dharma cannot be upheld.
「迦葉,我已經知道,法的道路是無法總持的。」
“There is no one here among my hearers
「在我的聲聞當中沒有人
Who will uphold such sūtras as that.
能夠總持如是經典。
Except for those authorized by me
除了我所授權的人 </book>
To uphold such sūtras,
能夠總持這樣的經,
“Those who will later have no doubt,
「那些後來將不再有疑惑的人,
Will have had their doubts resolved by me.
他們的疑惑將被我所解除。
Why have those sūtras, more powerful than others,
為何那些經典,比其他的更有力量,
Never before been practiced?
從未曾被修持過?
“The monks who uphold them are new and young,
「持戒的比丘們還很年輕,
While the sūtras are extensive.
雖然經典內容廣博。
How will those who do not uphold such a Dharma
不能總持這樣的法的人,怎樣才能
Reach its other shore?
到達彼岸?
“Dṛḍhamati, those who see me today
"堅慧,那些今天見到我的人
While I teach [F.227.b]
當我教導時
Will, in future times of great peril,
在未來的極大危難時期,
Acquire joy upon hearing that Dharma.
聽聞該法後獲得喜世界。
“I have explained only apprehension.
「我僅僅解說了恐懼。
The fearless should have faith in those words of mine.
無畏的人應當對我的言語具有信心。
Those who have seen the teacher in this life
在這一生中見到了師的人
Will be delighted to uphold that Dharma.
將欣喜地總持那個法。
“They will pursue such wisdom
他們將追求這樣的智慧
And then make offerings to the guides.
然後向導師們做出供養。
They will worship relics and memorials too;
他們也會禮拜舍利和塔。
The fearless will act as such at that time.”
無畏者將在那時如此行動。
