Summary
s.1Vimalaśraddhā, the daughter of King Prasenajit, comes to see the Buddha in Jetavana, Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park, together with a retinue of five hundred women. She pays homage to the Buddha and asks him to explain the conduct of bodhisattvas. The Buddha responds by presenting twelve sets of eight qualities that bodhisattvas should cultivate. Vimalaśraddhā and her five hundred companions, having developed the mind set on awakening, join the ranks of the bodhisattvas, and the Buddha prophesies her future attainment of awakening.
s.1淨信童女是波斯匿王的女兒，她帶著五百位婦女的隨從來到祇樹給孤獨園見佛陀。她向佛陀頂禮，並請佛陀為她解說菩薩行。佛陀回應時，為她講述了菩薩應該修養的十二組八種品質。淨信和她的五百位同伴在發起菩提心後，加入了菩薩的行列，佛陀並預言她未來將成佛。
