禮敬般若波羅蜜多,薄伽梵母!
1.1Homage to the Perfection of Wisdom, the Blessed Mother!
1.1敬禮般若波羅蜜多,薄伽梵母!
Thus did I hear at one time. The Blessed One was residing on Vulture Peak Mountain at Rājagṛha together with a great saṅgha of monks and a great saṅgha of bodhisattvas. [F.145.a]
如是我聞,一時薄伽梵在王舍城鷲峰山,與大比丘僧眾及大菩薩僧眾共同安住。
1.2At that time the Blessed One rested in an absorption on the categories of phenomena called illumination of the profound.
1.2爾時,薄伽梵入深奧之光照現象類別定。
1.3At the same time, the bodhisattva great being, noble Avalokiteśvara, while practicing the profound perfection of wisdom, looked and saw that the five aggregates are also empty of an intrinsic nature.
1.3在此同時,菩薩摩訶薩、觀自在菩薩,修持深奧的般若波羅蜜多時,觀察而見五蘊亦無自性。
1.4Then, due to the Buddha’s power, venerable Śāriputra asked the bodhisattva great being, noble Avalokiteśvara, “How should sons of noble family or daughters of noble family train if they wish to engage in the practice of the profound perfection of wisdom?”
1.4那時,由於佛陀的加持,尊者舍利弗問菩薩大士、尊貴的觀自在菩薩說:「善男子或善女人,如果想要修習深奧的般若波羅蜜多,應該如何學習呢?」
1.5The bodhisattva great being, noble Avalokiteśvara, replied to venerable Śāradvatīputra, “Śāriputra, sons of noble family or daughters of noble family who wish to engage in the practice of the profound perfection of wisdom should see things in this way: they should correctly observe the five aggregates to be empty of an intrinsic nature.
1.5菩薩摩訶薩,聖者觀自在菩薩,回答尊者舍利弗說:「舍利弗,善男子或善女人若欲修習深奧的般若波羅蜜多,應當這樣看待諸法:應當正確地觀察五蘊皆是無自性而為空。」
1.6“Form is empty. Emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form, and form is also not other than emptiness. In the same way, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are empty.
1.6「色即是空,空即是色。空不異色,色亦不異空。受、想、行、識亦復如是皆空。
1.7“Śāriputra, therefore, all phenomena are emptiness; they are without characteristics, unborn, unceasing, without stains, without absence of stains, not deficient, and not complete.
1.7「舍利子,是故空中無色、無受、想、行、識,無眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意,無色、聲、香、味、觸、法。舍利子,以是故,一切法空,無相、無生、無滅、無垢、無淨、不增、不減。」
1.8“Śāriputra, therefore, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, no perception, no formations, no consciousness, no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind, no form, no sound, no smell, no taste, no texture, and no mental object.
1.8「舍利子,因此在空性中,沒有色、沒有受、沒有想、沒有行、沒有識,沒有眼、沒有耳、沒有鼻、沒有舌、沒有身、沒有意,沒有色、沒有聲、沒有香、沒有味、沒有觸,也沒有法。」
1.9“There is no element of the eye, [F.145.b] up to no element of the mind, and further up to no element of the mind consciousness.
1.9「眼界不存在,乃至意界不存在,進而意識界也不存在。」
1.10“There is no ignorance and no exhaustion of ignorance, up to no aging and death and no exhaustion of aging and death.
1.10"沒有無明,也沒有無明的滅盡,直到沒有老死,也沒有老死的滅盡。"
1.11“There is no suffering, no origin of suffering, no cessation of suffering, no path, no wisdom, no attainment, and no nonattainment.
1.11「沒有苦、沒有苦集、沒有苦滅、沒有道、沒有智慧、沒有得、也沒有無得。」
1.12“Śāriputra, therefore, since bodhisattvas have no attainment, they rely upon and dwell in the perfection of wisdom. Because their minds have no veils, they have no fear. Having utterly gone beyond error, they reach the culmination of nirvāṇa.
1.12「舍利子,因此菩薩沒有所得,他們依靠般若波羅蜜多而安住。因為他們的心沒有障礙,所以沒有恐懼。他們已經完全超越了顛倒錯誤,達到了涅槃的最高境界。」
1.13“All the buddhas who reside in the three times have likewise fully awakened to unsurpassed and perfect awakening by relying upon the perfection of wisdom.
1.13「一切過去、現在、未來的佛陀同樣地都是依靠般若波羅蜜多而圓滿證悟無上正等正覺的。」
1.14“Therefore, the mantra of the perfection of wisdom is the mantra of great knowledge, the unsurpassed mantra, the mantra that is equal to the unequaled, and the mantra that utterly pacifies all suffering. Since it is not false, it should be known to be true.
1.14"因此,般若波羅蜜多的咒是大智慧的咒,是無上的咒,是與無比相等的咒,是完全息滅一切苦的咒。因為它不虛妄,應當知道它是真實的。
1.15“The mantra of the perfection of wisdom is stated thus:
1.15「般若波羅蜜多的咒是這樣說的:
tadyathā gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā
(咒語不翻)
1.16“Śāriputra, this is the way a bodhisattva great being should train in the profound perfection of wisdom.”
1.16「舍利子,這就是菩薩摩訶薩應當修習深奧般若波羅蜜多的方法。」
1.17Then the Blessed One arose from that absorption and gave his approval to the bodhisattva great being, noble Avalokiteśvara, saying, “Excellent! Excellent! Son of noble family, it is like that. Son of noble family, it is like that. The profound perfection of wisdom should be practiced just as you have taught, and even the thus-gone ones will rejoice.”
1.17然後薄伽梵從那個定中起身,對菩薩大士、尊貴的觀自在菩薩表示讚許,說道:「善哉!善哉!善男子,正是如此。善男子,正是如此。應當如你所教導的那樣修習深遠的般若波羅蜜多,甚至那些已往生的佛陀也會歡喜。」
1.18When the Blessed One had said this, venerable Śāradvatīputra, the bodhisattva great being, noble Avalokiteśvara, [F.146.a] and the entire assembly, as well as the world with its devas, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said.
1.18薄伽梵說完這些話後,尊敬的舍利弗、菩薩大士、觀自在菩薩,以及全體大眾,還有世間的天、人、阿修羅和乾闥婆,都歡喜踴躍,讚歎薄伽梵所說的一切。
1.19This completes The Great Vehicle Sūtra “The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom, the Blessed Mother.”
