1.1Homage to all buddhas and bodhisattvas!

1.1敬禮一切佛陀和菩薩!

1.2Thus did I hear at one time. The Blessed One was residing in Rājagṛha at Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great saṅgha of monks and a great many bodhisattva great beings.

1.2我聽說過是這樣的。當時世尊住在王舍城靈鷲山,和一大群比丘僧團以及許多菩薩大士在一起。

1.3At that time, the Blessed One said to the [F.251.b] bodhisattva Pure Intellect, “Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their discipline is pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their absorption, patience, and beneficence are pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their love is pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their compassion is pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their joy and equanimity are pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their liberation and their liberated wisdom are pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their powers are pure. Pure Intellect, the thus-gone ones are pure because their fearlessness, buddha qualities, and omniscient wisdom are pure.

1.3那個時候,世尊對菩薩純慧說:「純慧,如來因為戒律清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為禪定、忍辱和慈悲清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為慈愛清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為悲心清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為喜心和捨心清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為解脫和解脫智慧清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為神通力清淨所以清淨。純慧,如來因為無畏、佛陀特質和全知智慧清淨所以清淨。」

1.4“Pure Intellect, this being so, the size of the mass of merit generated by someone who honors the pure thus-gone ones with flowers, garlands, perfumes, parasols, banners, flags, music, and ointments cannot be fathomed. Except for the final passing into nirvāṇa through any of the three vehicles, this heap of merit can never be depleted, even in the future. Why is that so? Pure Intellect, just as the thus-gone ones are immeasurable in terms of all their buddha qualities, the offerings made to the thus-gone ones are immeasurable, endless, [F.252.a] inconceivable, incomparable, unfathomable, incalculable, boundless, and inexpressible.

1.4「純慧菩薩,由於這樣,有人以花、花環、香、傘蓋、幡、旗、音樂和膏油供養清淨的如來,他所生起的福德之量無法測度。除非藉由三乘中的任何一乘般涅槃,否則這堆積的福德即使在未來也永遠不會耗盡。為什麼呢?純慧菩薩,就像如來在一切佛質上是不可測量的,對如來的供養也是不可測量的、無盡的、難以思議的、無與倫比的、深不可測的、難以計算的、無邊的,且無法表達的。」

1.5“Pure Intellect, consider someone who honors, respects, venerates, worships, and reveres the thus-gone ones who live, thrive, and are well today. Then, consider someone who, in the future, during the final five-hundred-year period, honors, respects, venerates, worships, reveres, and holds dear a relic belonging to a thus-gone one who has passed into parinirvāṇa, even if it is as small as a mustard seed. Giving rise to the mind set on awakening, that person will pay homage to, prostrate to, honor, respect, venerate, worship, revere, supplicate, praise, and circumambulate this relic. Both of these persons will gain five benefits. What are these five benefits? They will be endowed with (1) mindfulness, (2) understanding, and (3) self-respect and propriety; (4) they will quickly meet a blessed buddha; and (5) faith will be born in them upon seeing that buddha. These are the five benefits that they will gain.

1.5「純慧菩薩,你想一下,有人供養、尊敬、恭敬、禮拜、讚仰現在活著、興盛、安樂的如來。再想一下,在未來最後五百年期間,有人供養、尊敬、恭敬、禮拜、讚仰、珍惜一位已經般涅槃的如來的舍利,即使舍利像芥子那麼小。此人由菩提心而生,將會頂禮、叩拜、供養、尊敬、恭敬、禮拜、讚仰、祈禱、讚嘆、繞行這份舍利。這兩種人都將獲得五種利益。這五種利益是什麼呢?他們將會具足(一)念,(二)慧,以及(三)慚愧;(四)他們將迅速遇見應供佛陀;以及(五)見到該佛時信心將在他們心中生起。這是他們將獲得的五種利益。」

1.6“Those persons will also possess four other qualities. What are these four qualities? (1) They will uphold the teachings of the thus-gone ones, (2) they will practice in accordance with these teachings, (3) they will come near to the blessed buddhas after having practiced in that way, and (4) they will swiftly be born in a pure buddhafield. These are the four qualities.

1.6「那些人還會具備四種其他的特質。這四種特質是什麼呢?(1)他們將遵守如來的教導,(2)他們將依照這些教導修習,(3)他們依那樣修習之後,將親近世尊佛陀,(4)他們將迅速往生到清淨的佛淨土。這就是這四種特質。

1.7“Pure Intellect, if a bodhisattva fulfills four criteria, he or she will not be oppressed by Māra or any divine sons of Māra’s family. What are these four criteria? (1) Being born in a high and noble family, (2) directing one’s mind toward the blessed buddhas as soon as one is born, (3) upholding the sacred Dharma in later stages of life, and (4) always being blessed by the thus-gone ones, [F.252.b] the worthy ones, the perfect buddhas. Pure Intellect, if a bodhisattva fulfills these four criteria, they will not be oppressed by Māra or any divine sons of Māra’s family.”

1.7「純慧菩薩,如果一位菩薩具足四項條件,就不會被魔或任何魔的眷屬天神所擾亂。這四項條件是什麼呢?(1)出生在高貴的家族裡,(2)一出生就把心指向應供佛陀,(3)在人生的後期階段維護聖法,(4)經常得到如來、應供、正等覺者的加持。純慧菩薩,如果一位菩薩具足這四項條件,就不會被魔或任何魔的眷屬天神所擾亂。」

1.8At that moment, the Blessed One uttered these verses:

“Whoever arouses the mind set on awakening,
「凡是喚起菩提心的人,」
For the benefit of all beings,
為了利益所有眾生,
And circumambulates the stūpa
並繞塔而行
Of a protector of the world,
世界保護者的塔,
“Will, throughout all his lives,
將在他的所有生世中
Be mindful, intelligent,
要心念專注,具足智慧。
Meritorious, and fearless
有福德、無畏懼
While engaging in bodhisattva conduct.
在從事菩薩行的時候。
“If someone circumambulates a stūpa,
「若有人繞塔行禮,
He will, throughout all his lives,
他將在他的一切生世中,
Be worshiped by the gods,
受到諸天的供養。
The nāgas, the yakṣas, and the rākṣasas.
龍、夜叉和羅剎。
“He will be free from the eight unfree states
他將遠離八無暇
That I have described,
我所描述的。
And will enjoy a unique freedom‍—
並將享受獨特的自由——
The excellent circumstance of a buddha’s coming.
佛陀降臨的殊勝際遇。
“With a beautiful complexion and an attractive appearance,

Elegantly adorned with the marks,

He will be strong and powerful,
他將會強壯有力,
And will not fall under the influence of laziness.
並且不會陷入懶惰的影響之下。
“He will be wealthy, prosperous,
他將富有繁榮,
Meritorious, and invincible.
福德殊勝,所向無敵。
He will please the lights of the world,
他會取悅世間的光明者。
And honor them again and again.
並一次次地尊敬他們。
“Upon hearing the doctrines of selflessness and emptiness,
「聽聞無我和空性的教法時,
He will not be deluded about the Dharma,
他不會對法產生迷惑,
But will swiftly develop faith,
但會迅速生起信心,
And correctly master the Dharma’s meaning.
並正確領悟法的含義。
“Born into prosperous
生而富有
And wealthy merchant households,
並出生在富有的商人家庭中,
He will be a heroic benefactor,
他將成為英勇的施主,
Generous and free from greed.
慷慨大方,無有貪心。
“Anywhere in the world,
「在世界的任何地方,
This upstanding person will always be born
這位品德高尚的人將永遠出生在
In distinguished and noble families,
在尊貴和高貴的家族中,
Having escaped inferior circumstances.
擺脫了低劣的處境。
“If someone circumambulates a stūpa,
「如果有人繞塔而行,
He will, throughout all his lives,

Be reborn as an influential, renowned,

Illustrious, and splendid householder. [F.253.a]
光耀殊勝的居士。
“He will become a great Brahmin householder,

Who is disciplined and learned.
具備戒律且博學多聞。
He will become a great Kṣatriya householder,

Who is wealthy and affluent.

“He will become a righteous king,

A sovereign of the four continents,
四大洲的統治者,
Who rules the entire land according to his wishes,

As far as the ocean and the surrounding mountains.

“He will become a universal monarch possessing miraculous powers

And the seven precious things.

Ruling over his kingdom,

He will honor the buddhas again and again.

“After he dies and transfers, he will proceed to the higher realms,

Where he will have faith in the Buddha’s teachings.

He will become Śakra, lord of the gods,

Ruling from the summit of Mount Meru.

“He will become the lord of the gods of the Heaven Free from Strife,

And the lord of the gods of the Heaven of Delighting in Emanations.

He will be a fearless ruler.

“By circumambulating a stūpa,

He will become the wise lord Brahmā,

Who is worshiped by ten million gods

In the Brahmā world.

“Ten million eons would not suffice
「十百萬劫都不夠
To proclaim the praises
宣說讚頌
Of a person who circumambulates
一個繞行的人
The stūpa of a protector of the world.
世界保護者的塔。
“Whoever prostrates to the stūpa of a teacher,
「無論誰向師的塔禮拜,
After having given rise to the mind set on awakening,
生起菩提心之後,
Will never, in ten million eons,
永遠不會在千萬劫中,
Become blind or crippled.
不會變成盲人或殘疾人。
“Someone who circumambulates
「某人繞行
The stūpa of a protector of the world
世間保護者的塔
Will obtain flawless eyes,
將獲得無缺陷的眼睛,
That are as beautifully dark as bees.
如蜜蜂一樣美麗烏黑的眼睛。
“If someone circumambulates a stūpa,
「如果有人繞塔行走,
He is certain to always
他必定會永遠
Encounter everything that is conducive,
遇見所有有益的事物,
And to always discard what is not conducive.
並且永遠捨棄不利的事物。
“If someone circumambulates a stūpa,
「如果有人繞行一座塔,
He will be strong and powerful.
他會變得強大有力。
Without falling under the influence of laziness,
不陷入懶惰的影響之中,
He will always be conscientious.
他將永遠保持警覺與謹慎。
“If someone circumambulates a stūpa,
「如果有人繞塔,
He will be resolutely diligent, strong,
他將會堅定精進,強大有力,
Staunch, and grounded.
堅定,且根基穩固。
Such a person will swiftly become learned.
這樣的人將迅速變得有學問。
“Fire, poison, and weapons
「火、毒藥和武器
Will never cause his demise. [F.253.b]
永遠無法導致他的死亡。
This wise one will only die
這位智者只有在壽命耗盡時才會死亡。
When his lifespan is exhausted.

“If someone circumambulates a stūpa,
「如果有人繞行一座塔,
He will enjoy palaces, retinues,

Lands, and towns,

And be distinguished by his physical appearance.

“As he engages in bodhisattva conduct,

He will not follow his desires,

But will maintain the cleanliness of his body and clothes,

And observe the pure Dharma.

1.34“Pure Intellect, upon seeing the stūpa of a thus-gone one, a follower of the bodhisattva vehicle may develop faith and, kneeling on both knees, pay homage and prostrate to it. Moreover, he may arouse devotion, thinking, ‘May my body become just like the bodies of the thus-gone ones, which are adorned with the thirty-two marks of a great being!’ Pure Intellect, in that case, the size of that heap of merit will be indescribable, because it is based on unsurpassed and perfect awakening. That heap of merit cannot be exhausted by becoming a king, Śakra, Brahmā, a solitary buddha, or even a practitioner of the unsurpassed vehicle of the perfect buddhas. Why is that so? Because, Pure Intellect, such a noble son is in possession of an inconceivable heap of merit. Pure Intellect, consider the Thus-Gone One who has awakened to unsurpassed and perfect buddhahood. Whenever he is entering a city, a monastery, or a village, and whether he is walking, standing, sitting, or teaching the Dharma, all beings without exception in this great trichiliocosm‍—gods, nāgas, yakṣas, gandharvas, asuras, garuḍas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, [F.254.a] and nonhumans‍—will bow, salute, and prostrate in his direction. Even the trees, mountains, mines, caves, and rock shelters will do so. Just as they all behave toward the Thus-Gone One, who is endowed with all roots of virtue, so sentient beings will also bow, salute, and prostrate to such noble sons as they wander in villages, cities, towns, lands, or capitals.”

1.34「純慧菩薩,若有菩薩乘的追隨者,在見到如來的塔時,能夠生起信心,並且跪在兩膝上,向塔禮拜和頂禮。而且,他可能會激發虔誠心,想著『願我的身體就像如來的身體一樣,以三十二相來莊嚴!』純慧菩薩,在這種情況下,那一堆福德的大小是無法形容的,因為它是以無上正等覺為基礎的。那一堆福德不會因為成為國王、帝釋天、梵天、獨覺佛,甚至無上完美佛乘的修行者而被耗盡。為什麼是這樣呢?因為,純慧菩薩,這樣的貴族兒子擁有無法思議的福德堆積。純慧菩薩,請你思考那位已經覺悟到無上正等正覺的如來。無論何時他進入城市、寺院或村莊,無論他是在行走、站立、坐著,還是在講授法時,在這個三千大千世界中,所有眾生,不經例外——諸神、龍、夜叉、乾闥婆、阿修羅、金翅鳥、緊那羅、摩睺羅迦、人類和非人類——都會向他的方向鞠躬、致敬和頂禮。甚至樹木、山脈、礦山、洞穴和石窟也會如此。正如他們對具足所有善根的如來的行為一樣,眾生也會向那樣的貴族兒子鞠躬、致敬和頂禮,因為他們在村莊、城市、城鎮、土地或首都中遊歷。」

1.35At that moment, the Blessed One uttered these verses:

“When someone kneels before the stūpa of a buddha,

Forms the wish to be like the buddhas in the world,
立志要像世間的佛陀一樣。
And is firmly intent on awakening,

The three worlds will bow to him, wherever he goes.
三界都會向他禮敬,無論他走到哪裡。
“Wherever that self-arisen chief of humans goes,
「無論這位自然而生的人類首領到哪裡去,」
All the grass, trees, branches,
所有的草、樹木、枝條,
Herbs, leaves, fruits, flower petals,

And fragrant flowers will bow in that direction.

“All the rulers of humans will bow down

To the person who kneels before the stūpas of the blessed ones.

The lord of the yakṣas, the king of the nāgas, the king of the gods,
夜叉的主宰、龍王、諸天之王,
And the lord Brahmā will all bow at his feet.
梵天大主宰也都會在他的腳下頂禮。
“If someone kneels and prostrates before the stūpas of the blessed ones,
「如果有人在世尊的塔前跪拜和禮敬,
He will become a heroic and powerful universal monarch,
他將成為一位英勇而有力的轉輪聖王。
Adorned with a golden complexion and wearing the armor of the marks.
身體金色莊嚴,具備諸相的護甲。
His great might will be respected and hard to overcome.
他的偉大力量將受到尊敬,難以被克服。
“All the sentient beings residing in his lands
「所有居住在他領地中的眾生
Will be kind and joyful,
都將善良且喜樂。
And no one will commit any evil deed toward him.
而且沒有任何人會對他做出邪惡的行為。
Those great assemblies of beings will be joyful and charming.
那些偉大的眾生集會將會歡樂迷人。
“A world ruler will salute [F.254.b]
一個世間的統治者將會禮敬
Someone who kneels and pays homage to the stūpas of the blessed ones.
有人跪拜並向世尊的塔禮敬。
The gods, nāgas, humans, and mahoragas will bow down to him,
諸天、龍、人類和摩睺羅迦都會向他禮拜。
And he will find relief for limitless eons.
他將獲得無限劫的安樂。
“When the sublime victorious ones appear,
「當至尊勝者出現時,
The person who kneels and pays homage to the stūpas of the blessed ones
向世尊的塔敬禮跪拜的人
Will come in close contact with these thus-gone ones,
將會與這些如來親近接觸。
And will worship countless such great leaders.
並將供養無數的偉大導師。
“When myriads of eons have passed,
「當無數的劫已經過去之時,
The person who kneels and pays homage to the stūpas of the blessed ones,
跪下來向世尊的塔供養禮拜的人,
With the wish to become a buddha in the world,
懷著想要在世間成為佛陀的願望,
Will swiftly reach the unequalled state of awakening.
將迅速證得無等的覺悟。
“Compared to someone who honors myriads of buddhas
相比於有人供養無數的佛陀
For countless millions of eons,
在無數百萬劫中,
Someone who, in the terrible future age of this eon,
在這一劫中,可怕的未來時代,有人
Pays homage to a stūpa will accrue much more merit.
禮敬一座塔所積累的福德要多得多。
“The sublime buddhas are unequalled objects of generosity,
「殊勝的佛陀是布施中無等的對象,
Who reached unique attainments by engaging in sacred conduct.
通過從事聖潔的修行而達到獨特成就的人。
If someone worships these foremost of humans,
如果有人供養這些人中最殊勝者,
He will develop an unequalled, sublime nature when these actions ripen.
當這些行為成熟時,他將發展出無等、殊勝的本質。
“Whoever makes flower garlands
「凡是製作花環的人
And offers them to stūpas,
將這些供養獻給塔,
While directing his mind toward awakening,
在內心朝向覺悟而修行的時候,
Will never become destitute.

“After his death, upon leaving the human realm,

He will be reborn in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three,

Where he will receive a palace

Made of all kinds of precious gems.

“If someone offers a garland to a stūpa,

He will enjoy the pleasures of the Heaven of the Thirty-Three,

Where he will live in divine mansions and pavilions,

Attended by celestial maidens.
被天女們侍奉。
“He will enjoy divine pools
他將享受天池的喜悅
Made of beryl and crystal,

Filled with water having the eight qualities,

And spread with golden sand.

“After enjoying his time among the gods,

When his lifespan is exhausted,

This wise man will depart from the gods’ realm,

And be reborn as a prosperous man.

“Through those roots of virtue,

This wise man will act conscientiously.

He will please the thus-gone ones, [F.255.a]

And worship these supreme ones among humans.

“Whoever offers a garland to a stūpa
「無論誰向塔獻上花環
Will never be carried away
永遠不會被欲望或瞋恨所牽動
By desire or anger,
由於欲望或憤怒,
Nor will he become deluded.
也不會變得迷惑。
“Whoever worships the supreme ones among humans
「凡是供養人中最殊勝者的人
Will, throughout all his lives,

Keep his senses under control,
保持感官受到控制,
And be free from attachment, aversion, and craving.
並且遠離貪、瞋和渴愛。
“Whoever offers a garland to a stūpa

Will always be respected,

For lives numbered in

The billions and trillions.
數十億與數兆。
“Whoever offers a garland to a stūpa
「誰若向塔獻上花環
Will become a universal monarch,

Śakra, lord of the gods,
帝釋天,眾神之主,
And Brahmā, ruling over the Brahmā world.
以及梵天,統治梵天界。
“Having offered silken brocades
「獻上絲綢錦緞
To the protectors and refuges of the world,
獻給世間的保護者和歸依處,
All his divine and human goals
他的一切天界和人間的目標
Will be accomplished.
他的一切天神和人間的願望都將實現。
“He will never again be reborn
他將永遠不會再轉生
In inferior families.
在下等的家族中。
He will be rich and prosperous,

And will become a powerful lord of the world.

“If someone worships the thus-gone ones,

He will have a perfect physical appearance,

His goals will be accomplished, and he will possess

Enjoyments, good looks, wealth, and fame.
享樂、美貌、財富和名聲。
“Throughout all his lives, he will be mindful,

And will never be carried away by attachment.

Understanding the shortcomings of lust,
慧見貪欲的過患,
He will engage in pure conduct.

“Whoever worships the thus-gone ones

Will not be affected

By forms, sounds, or tastes,

And will not engage in negative actions.

“Whoever worships the guides

Will never be short of perfumes and flowers,

And will be endowed
並將具足
With mindfulness and insight.

“Whoever worships the thus-gone ones
「誰若供養如來
Will never have his wealth touched
永遠不會有他的財富被觸碰
By kings, thieves,

Fire, or water.

“Whoever offers silken brocades [F.255.b]
「凡是供養絲綢錦緞的人
To the stūpa of a protector of the world
向世間保護者的塔
Will never encounter drought,

Sorrow, or sickness.

“Whoever worships the lights of the world

Will, throughout all his lives,

Be free from sorrow and harm,

And will become a wealthy universal monarch.

“Whoever worships the guides

Will have flexible legs and arms;

He will have flawless limbs,

Good looks, and a beautiful appearance.

“Having abandoned negative actions,

He will engage in bodhisattva conduct,

And will meet the supreme ones among humans,

Who are so rare to find in the world.

“For billions and trillions of eons,

He will worship,

Be happy and wise,

And awaken to sublime buddhahood.

“Whoever builds a house with garlands

For the protectors and refuges of the world
為了世間的保護者和庇護所
Will become a wealthy king,

Never separated from his servants and attendants.

“He will abandon the negative actions

That have been abandoned by the noble ones,

And rely on the virtuous actions

Prescribed by the perfect buddhas.

“He will be loved, cherished,

Honored, and praised
尊敬與讚美
By the gods, nāgas,
由諸天、龍
And wise ones in the world.
以及世間的智者。
“Wherever this steadfast one is born,
「無論這位堅定的人投生在何處,
The brilliance of his merit will be resplendent.
他的福德光輝將會璀璨耀眼。
His land, city,
他的國家、城市,
And family will all honor him.
他的故鄉、城市和家族都將尊敬他。
“Whoever worships the unassailable buddhas,
「凡是供養那不可戰勝的佛陀的人,
The supreme ones among humans,
人中最殊勝的存在,
Will be strong and powerful,
將會變得強大有力,
And will enjoy a great retinue of servants.
且會享受眾多僕人侍奉的大福報。
“Whoever builds a monastery with garlands
「無論誰用花環建造寺院
And dedicates it to awakening
並將其獻奉給覺悟
Will obtain thereby the riches
由此將會獲得財富
Praised by the buddhas.
受到佛陀們的讚頌。
“He will not be crippled or blind,
「他將不會殘疾或失明,
Or inferior or base.
或者低下和卑微。
Wherever that person is born,
無論那個人生在哪裡,
His body will be adorned with the marks.
他的身體將被相好所莊嚴。
“Upon seeing destitute beings, [F.256.a]
「見到貧困的眾生,
He will attract them with his wealth.
他會用他的財富吸引他們。
He will be affluent
他將獲得富足
And engage in bodhisattva conduct.

“Through his great intelligence,

He will never adopt an inferior attitude

Nor will he become destitute,

Even after giving away the entire earth.

“Whoever has entered the path of awakening

Will not be saddened

By giving away his sons or daughters,

Or his virtuous and noble wife.

“He will walk in front of others,

And delight those who lack guidance.

But he will never be harmed

By envy or pride.

Be helpful, and possess excellent qualities.

“Those who have entered the path of awakening

Are the most precious beings in the world.
是世間最珍貴的眾生。
Such beings, who only rarely appear,
這樣的眾生,極其罕見,
Are faultless objects of generosity.
是無過的布施對象。
“The particles of earth
「大地的微塵
Could gradually be counted and assessed,
可以逐漸計算和評估 <br>
But the extent of such beings’ qualities
但這些眾生的功德程度
Cannot be expressed in words.
無法用言語表達。
“The minds of all sentient beings
「一切有情眾生的心念
In the three times could be known.
在三時中能夠被認知。
But the extent of such beings’ qualities
但是這些眾生的功德範圍
Cannot be expressed in words.
無法用言語表達。
“The four great oceans
四大洋
Could eventually be depleted
最終都可能被耗盡
With a billionth part of a strand of hair,
用一根頭髮的十億分之一,
But such beings’ qualities can never be depleted.
但是這些眾生的功德卻永遠不會耗盡。
“One could count all the smallest particles of dust
「一個人能夠數盡所有最細微的塵埃粒子
Created by grinding the entire earth into powder,
透過將整個大地磨成粉末而創造出的,
But the extent of the qualities
但是這些佛陀之子的特質無法表達。
Of these children of the buddhas cannot be expressed.
這些佛陀子女的功德無法言表。
“It is possible for all the raging rivers
「所有洶湧的河流都有可能
To reverse course and flow upstream,
折返流向上游,
But it is not possible to express the extent
但是無法表達其廣大的程度
Of the qualities of these children of the buddhas.
這些佛陀的孩子們所擁有的特質。
“All the former bodies
"一切往昔的身體
Of all the sentient beings who have ever lived
所有曾經存在過的眾生
Could be counted and assessed,
都可以被計算和評估,
But there is no end to the qualities of these beings.
但是這些眾生的功德無有窮盡。
“Even all the hairs that ever grew
「即使是曾經長出的所有毛髮
On all their former bodies [F.256.b]

Could be counted and assessed,

But there is no end to the qualities of these beings.

“The hairs of all sentient beings who

Circle in the five classes of beings

“All the particles of earth

Present in the oceans

Could also be counted and assessed,

But the qualities of these beings cannot be expressed.

“Starting from the time of Dīpaṃkara,
「從燃燈佛的時代開始,」
And for all the subsequent eons,

One could know exhaustively

All the fruits and flowers

“Present on all the trees

That will ever grow.

Yet the extent of the qualities

Of these children of the buddhas cannot be expressed.

Even if a diligent person were

To sing them pleasing songs of praise

For billions or trillions of eons.

“Whoever displeases

These children of the buddhas

Will depart the divine and human abodes,
將離開天界和人間的住處,
And find themselves in the realms of hell.

“Whoever harms

These bodhisattvas
這些菩薩
Will be born blind or without eyes,
會盲目出生或沒有眼睛。
And will find no supportive friends when he suffers.

“After dying, he will go to the Hell of Ceaseless Torment,

Where he will be burned and terrified.

He will also experience suffering

When his body grows in size.

His tongues will be slashed in unbearable ways.

This evil-minded person will then experience

The Hot and Fiercely Hot hells,

Will be reborn as a water serpent‍—

Vicious and poisonous.
凶惡且有毒。
“Tormented by hunger and thirst,
「被飢渴所折磨,
He will engage in evil deeds.
他將會進行邪惡的行為。
Deprived of food,
缺乏食物,
He will never feel satiated.
他將永遠無法感到滿足。
“After he dies and transmigrates, he will be continuously crushed
他死後轉生,將會不斷被碾壓,並在死主的世界中被毆打。
And beaten in the world of the Lord of Death.
在死主的世界裡被不斷摧殘和毆打。
Because he has harmed monks,
因為他傷害了僧人,
He will never find any opportunity.
他永遠不會找到任何機會。
“Then, after he dies and transmigrates,

If he obtains a human body,

This evil-minded person will be blind,

Malicious, and unrestrained.

“Because he has deprecated the noble ones

Using abusive words,

After he dies, upon leaving the human realm,

He will swiftly be reborn in the lower realms.

Who harms bodhisattvas

Will not meet any buddha
將不會遇見任何佛陀
For billions of eons.

“Whoever protects the children of the perfect buddhas,
「凡是保護圓滿佛陀的子嗣的人,
In accordance with the Dharma,
按照法而行,
Will abandon all of the lower realms
將放棄所有的下三道
And swiftly proceed to the higher realms.
並迅速前往上三道。
“He will be wealthy, prosperous,
他將會富裕、繁榮,
Powerful, fearless,
強大,無畏,
Mindful, wise,
念慧具足,
Happy, and endowed with self-respect and propriety.
快樂,且具足慚愧。
“Upon seeing the stūpa of a buddha,
「見到佛陀的塔,
Where a lamp of the worlds
世界之燈所在之處
Has passed into parinirvāṇa,
已經進入般涅槃,
He will honor it again and again.

“When hearing a Dharma discourse such as this

Spoken by the perfect buddhas,

Who would not develop faith

In the children of the buddhas?

Myriads of buddhas

For as many eons as there are grains of sand

In the Ganges river.

“Yet, upholding the sacred Dharma, day and night,

As it was revealed by the protectors of the world,

When it is about to disappear,

Will accumulate much more merit.
將積累更多的福德。
“Whoever upholds the Dharma

When it is about to disappear

Will be worshiping me and all past buddhas,

Who abide in awakened wisdom.
安住於覺悟智慧中。
“Whoever protects the doctrine of the Teacher
「誰人護持師的教法
When the sacred Dharma is about to disappear
當聖法即將消失時
Will never be troubled

For billions of eons.
無量劫中。
“Such a person will find physical well-being
「這樣的人將會得到身體的安康
And will never be struck by illness.
永遠不會被疾病所困擾。
Nor will he be thwarted
他也不會被不愉快的情況所阻礙。
By unpleasant circumstances.
不會被不愉快的境況所阻礙。
“Whoever protects the doctrine of the Teacher
「凡是護持師的教法的人
Will have perfect patience.
將具足完美的忍耐。
He will be gentle, wise, and mild,
他將會溫和、智慧、溫厚,
And will be affectionate toward sentient beings.
並且對眾生充滿慈愛。
“Upholding the Dharma of the supreme Victor in a time of decline,
在末法時代,堅持最勝者的法。
One will be happy and joyful, and one’s fortune will increase.
一個人會感到快樂和喜悅,一個人的福報會增長。
One will reap the fruits of previous acts of veneration,
將會獲得先前尊敬的果報,
And will abandon the eight unfree states entirely.
並將徹底遠離八無暇。
“Upholding the Dharma of the supreme Victor in a time of decline,
「在末法時代,持守最勝者的法,
One will, just like the sky filled with stars,
一個人將如同布滿星辰的天空一樣,
Always be adorned with the armor of the marks,
始終以標記的鎧甲來自我莊嚴。
And always speak pleasantly in a delightful voice.

“Upholding the Dharma of the supreme Victor in a time of decline,
在末法時代,堅持最勝者的法。
One will abandon birth in lowly castes
人將會捨棄在下賤種姓中的出生
Bereft of pleasure and filled with misery.
沒有歡樂,充滿苦難。
Instead, one will be rich, happy, and fortunate.
反而會變得富有、幸福和吉祥。
“Upholding the Dharma of the supreme Victor in a time of decline,
「在末法時代,護持最勝者的法,
One will be powerful, strong, and diligent.
將會變得有力、強大且精進。
One will always move among the superior,
一個人將總是在優越者中行走。
Venerating hundreds of thousands of buddhas.
恭敬禮拜數百萬尊佛陀。
“Upholding the Dharma of the supreme Victor in a time of decline,
「在末法時代,奉持最勝者的法,
One will be born with a supremely attractive physical appearance.
人將生來具有最殊勝的吸引人的身相。
One will be wise and supremely venerated in the human world,
此人將在人間智慧非凡,並獲得最殊勝的尊崇。
Praised by kings, the learned, and the wise. [F.258.a]
受到國王、學者和智者的讚頌。
“Upholding the Dharma of the supreme Victor in a time of decline,
在末法時代,受持最勝者的法。
One will obtain a supremely beautiful and attractive appearance,
一個人將獲得最殊勝的美麗和迷人的外貌,
And one will please and delight men, women, and gods.

One will be praised by the wise and endowed with insight.

“The person who is present before the Teacher‍—

The god of gods, endowed with the ten powers‍—

As he expounds this sūtra

Will, in the future, receive sūtras such as this directly.

“Please listen as I now describe all the unique qualities

That result from depicting the Teacher, the supreme human being,

By painting his image on a cloth or the surface of a wall,

Or by producing golden statues.
或者製作金色的佛像。
“A person who engages in such practices will not be born blind,

Crooked, or with abnormal limbs.

Blessed with an attractive appearance and good looks,

He will possess the armor of the thirty-two marks.

“He will be born with a perfect and preeminent body;

He will be self-confident and speak with a pleasant voice.

He will be attentive and will become the leader of the entire world.

Upon seeing him, others will be happy and joyful.

“He will not commit any evil, and his mind will be free from anger.

He will be honest and will neither steal nor quarrel with the king.
他將誠實待人,既不會偷竊,也不會與國王爭執。
He will be renowned for his strength and power.
他將因其力量和能力而享譽盛名。
He will be loving and have a superior mind.
他將充滿慈愛,具有殊勝的心智。
“Whoever creates a beautiful image of the Guide
「無論誰製作了導師的美麗形象
Will be supreme and fit to be worshiped by many beings.
將是最殊勝的,值得許多眾生供養。
He will be intelligent, wealthy, prosperous,
他將聰慧、富有、昌盛,
And will become a powerful king, a universal monarch.
並且將成為強大的國王、轉輪聖王。
“Whoever creates a beautiful image of the Guide
「無論誰創作了觀音菩薩的美麗形象
Will obtain the power of the mighty lord of gods.
將獲得強大天神之主的力量。
He will become Śakra, ruling on the summit of Mount Meru.
他將成為帝釋天,統治須彌山的山頂。
This lord will display his dominion on that summit.
這位聖主將在須彌山頂展現他的統治權力。
“Mindful and intelligent,
「心念清晰且充滿慧,
His understanding, dedication, and insight will be complete,
他的慧、奉獻和洞見將圓滿具足。
And he will find relief in all the worlds.
他將在一切世界中得到安樂。
This being will be endowed with wisdom and will abandon the hells.
這個生命體將被賦予智慧,並捨棄地獄。
“Whoever worships the peerless quintessential being
「誰若供養無上本質的眾生
Will not be reborn as an animal or in the domain of the Lord of Death.

Abandoning the three lower realms, [F.258.b]
捨棄下三道,
He will know that he shall not take birth in them again.
他將知曉自己不會再在那些地方投生。
“Whoever creates a beautiful image of the Guide
「無論誰製作了導師的美麗形象
Will become a god, the powerful Īśvara himself.
將成為天神,乃至大自在天本身。
He will worship the buddhas with a mind of superior joy,
他將以殊勝喜悅的心供養佛陀。
And will have faith in the teachings of the supreme victorious ones.
並且將對最勝者的教法生起信心。
“He will become Brahmā, ruling over the Brahmā world,
他將成為梵天,統治梵天界,
Where he will enjoy the most exquisite celestial palaces,
他將享受最殊勝的天宮。
Which are delightful, sweet-scented,
令人愉悅、香氣甘美的
And shining with gold from the Jambū river.
並且閃耀著來自贍部洲的黃金光輝。
“He will attain the level of the peerless quintessential being,
他將證得無上的精妙之人的境界,
A captain endowed with the ten powers.
具有十力的導師。
His infinite radiance will shine throughout all the worlds,
他無邊的光輝將照耀遍及所有世界。
Like a thousand gold pieces or beryl gemstones.
猶如千枚黃金或琉璃寶石。
“Whoever picks flowers with a joyful mind
「無論誰用歡喜心採集花朵
And faithfully showers them on a protector of the world
並以信心將花朵灑向世間的保護者
Will be meritorious in the human world,
將在人世間獲得福德,
Where, residing in his kingdom, he will venerate the supreme victors.
在那裡,住在他的王國中,他將恭敬最勝者。
“Even someone who is miserable, skinny, rigid, and smelly
「即使有人貧困、瘦弱、僵硬且骯髒
Will come to possess a healthy and unmatched body.
將會獲得健康且無與倫比的身體。
Then, fit to be regarded by many beings, he will abandon desire‍—
那時,他適合被許多有情所觀看,他將捨棄欲望——
The fundamental enemy that leads to the hells.
導致地獄的根本敵人。
“In practicing the conduct, he will know

That desire is loathesome, like a pit of vomit.

Then, with a joyful mind he will always engage

In the most superior and virtuous pure conduct.

“For infinite eons, the sweet fragrance of beautiful lotus flowers

Will waft from his mouth.

His body will have the color of gold

And carry the fragrance of sandalwood.
並散發檀香的香氣。
“While practicing the conduct, he will not be harmed

By wrath, rage, impurity, faults, or ignorance.
不會被瞋怒、憤怒、不淨、過失或無明所傷害。
With a superior mind, he will find relief
以優越的心念,他將得到解脫
And become a conscientious king of the gods.

“When victorious ones pass into nirvāṇa,

He will respectfully uphold their Dharma.

With a superior and joyful mind, he will be generous,

And will worship the relics of those blessed ones who have passed into nirvāṇa. [F.259.a]

“When the doctrine of the supreme victor is about to disappear,

He will joyfully uphold the Teacher’s religious precepts.

He will never face death through harmful factors.

“If all beings became buddhas,

Free from afflictions, golden, and with the ten powers,
遠離煩惱、金色身、具足十力,
They would be able to express worshipful praise

To that supreme victor for billions and trillions of eons.
向那位最勝者供養數十億兆劫。
“He will abandon evil deeds in all the worlds,
"他將在所有世界中放棄惡行,"
And engage in supreme actions with a joyful mind.
並以歡喜心從事最殊勝的行為。
Having worked properly and with great strength for the benefit of beings,
為了眾生的利益,以極大的力量且恰當地工作,
He will become a powerful and perfect buddha in the world.
他將成為世間最殊勝、最圓滿的佛陀。
“I will now expound the benefits that result
「我現在將說明由此而生的功德利益」
From sprinkling the stūpas of the blessed ones with perfume,
從用香水灑淋世尊的塔開始,
Even as little as a drop the size of a mustard seed;
即使只是芥子粒大小的一滴;
So listen sincerely and abandon your stains and defilements!
所以要認真聽聞,放棄你們的污垢和垢染!
“Such a person will be meritorious and move about in all directions;
「這樣的人會有福德,能在各個方向行動;
He will be healthy, steadfast in mind, and conscientious.
他將身體健康,心念堅定,謹慎認真。
While practicing the conduct, he will subdue misery,
在修持菩薩行時,他將克服苦難,
And he will cause many beings to become happy and pleased.
他將使許多眾生變得快樂和歡喜。
“He will become a king who honors the supreme victors.
他將成為尊敬最勝者的國王。
He will become a powerful and highly learned universal monarch,
他將成為一位強大且博學的轉輪聖王,
Endowed with a golden complexion and wearing the armor of the marks,
具足金色膚色,身著遍滿標記的鎧甲,
And his fragrance will be pleasing in all the worlds.
他的香氣將在所有世界中令人愉悅。
“His mind will be free from unhappiness and suffering.
他的心將遠離不快樂和痛苦。
While practicing the conduct, his enjoyments will not decrease.
在修持妳行的時候,他的享受不會減少。
He will be rich and prosperous, and his fortune will grow.
他將會富裕繁榮,他的福報將會增長。
Free from misery, he will move about in all the worlds.
他將免於苦難,在所有世界中遊行。
“Many beings will approach him and request,
許多眾生將會靠近他並請求,
‘Please expound the extraordinary Dharma teachings
請闡述殊勝的法教,
Of the supreme victors and clear away our doubts!’
最勝者的法教,並為我們排除疑惑。』
Hearing the Dharma, they will be pleased and pass it on.
聽聞法教後,他們會感到歡喜並將之傳承下去。
“Not committing any evil deeds, he will be open-minded.
「不造作任何惡業,他將開放心胸。
He will delight in and become learned concerning
他將歡喜並精通
The extraordinary, sublime Dharma taught by the victors.
勝者所教導的非凡殊勝的法。
His vision will be purified, and he will clear away the darkness of ignorance.

“He will have only minimal attachment and aversion;
他的貪和瞋都很微薄。
In the human world, his ignorance will not be great.

He will practice the supreme pure conduct, [F.259.b]

And accomplish the benefit of beings in ways that cannot be fathomed.

“Whoever burns incense at the stūpas of the blessed ones
「凡是在世尊的塔前燃燒香火的人
Will be free from all malice.
將遠離一切惡意。
His enjoyments will never decrease,
他的福樂永遠不會減少,
And he will be estimable and affluent.
他將受人尊敬且財富豐裕。
“After his mind has been purified for billions and trillions of eons,
「他的心念經過數十億兆劫的淨化之後,」
And has become free from evil, peaceful, calm, and gentle,

He will obtain unequalled awakening

Through his superior attitude.

Will always receive countless billions and

Trillions of beautiful fabrics.

“Whoever drapes the stūpa of a blessed one with fabric
「凡是以布匹為世尊的塔作供者,
Will, as soon as he is born, receive the best fabrics,
他一旦出生,就會立即得到最好的布匹,
The most excellent and extraordinary divine silks and fabrics,
最為殊勝與非凡的神聖絹綢和布匹,
And from birth will have a healthy body.

“Whoever offers fabric to the stūpas of the blessed ones‍—
「凡是向世尊的塔獻施布匹的人——
The unequalled leaders‍—
無等的領導者
Will, in this life, obtain an unequalled body
將在今生獲得無等的身體
Adorned with the flowers of the thirty-two marks.
以三十二相的花朵所莊嚴。
“Whoever drapes the stūpa of a blessed one in fabric
「誰若用布匹裝飾世尊的塔
Will, for countless eons, find in his hands
將在無數劫中,在他的手中獲得
Beautiful and variegated pearl garlands,
美麗多彩的珍珠花環,
As well as flower garlands and gorgeous golden threads.
以及花環和華麗的金線。
“Whoever drapes the stūpa of a blessed one in fabric
「誰若用布匹裝飾世尊的塔
Will not be distrusted by anyone,
不會被任何人懷疑。
Whether gods, nāgas, humans, or mahoragas,

And he will always engage in the supreme pure conduct.

“The splendor created by filling the entire trichiliocosm [F.260.a]

With the seven supremely precious substances could be depleted.
用七種最殊勝的寶物所作的供養,是可能被耗盡的。
But that of offering a single piece of fabric
但是,供一塊布匹的功德
To the stūpa of a victor could not.
但向勝利者的塔供一塊布匹所獲得的殊勝功德卻無法耗盡。
“The splendor created by filling billions and trillions of universes
用數十億兆個世界填滿所創造的光輝
With precious jewels that resemble moonlight could be depleted.
用如月光般的寶石來填滿,可以被耗盡。
But that of offering a single piece of fabric
但是供養一塊布匹的功德
To the stūpa of a victor could not.
向勝者的塔供奉幡是無法耗盡的。
“Whoever offers banners to the stūpa of a blessed one,

While aspiring to become a buddha in the world,
當發願在世間成就佛陀時,
Will be worthy of the worship of many beings,
將得到無量眾生的供養。
And will engage in the supreme awakened conduct‍—sublime and peaceful.
並將從事最殊勝的覺者行——崇高而寂靜。
“Whoever offers banners to the stūpa of a blessed one
「凡是向世尊的塔供養幡幢的人
Will obtain a perfect and supreme body,
將獲得完美而最殊勝的身體,
Which is pure like gold.
它純淨如同黃金。
He will be praised, worshiped, and respected by the gods.
他將被諸天讚美、供養和尊敬。
“His body will have a golden complexion.
他的身體將具有金色的膚色。
He will obtain the finest cotton fabrics and cloaks,
他將獲得最上等的布匹和披巾,
Dukūla garments, silken clothing,
細布衣服、絲綢衣著,
And exquisite fabrics.

“In the world, he will always be born

Into the best, most eminent families
進入最好、最尊貴的家族
As a rich, great, and affluent lord.

He will abandon birth in inferior or destitute families.

“No sentient being will be jealous

Or give rise to malice toward him.

Condemning the evil actions of others,

He will always be conscientious and perfectly disciplined.

“He will be devoid of grasping and stinginess.
他將遠離貪著和慳吝。
Practicing generosity, he will gain freedom from misery,

But he will not give to others merely to save his own life.

Free from poverty, he will always be conscientious.

“Upon meeting a captain, a buddha endowed with the ten powers,

He will joyfully worship that blessed one

By offering parasols, banners, and lamps.
通過供養傘蓋、幡和燈。
He will always engage in the supreme awakened conduct.
他將始終從事最殊勝的覺者行。
“He will be respected and venerated in the human world,
「他將在人間受到尊敬和禮拜,
And will become a lord of the gods and a chief of humans,
並將成為諸天之主與人類之首領。
Pleasingly perfumed and handsome, beautiful to behold,
芬芳馥郁、容貌俊美、賞心悅目,
Possessing various gems such as crystal.
擁有水晶等各種寶石。
“On the summit of Mount Meru, he will become resplendent among the gods,
「在須彌山的頂峰,他將在眾神中閃耀光芒,
Who will all become his disciples and bow down to him. [F.260.b]

He will please their minds through the Dharma,

And they will develop supreme and unwavering faith in him.

And he will please and delight many beings.

「凡是向最殊勝、無垢的聖者供奉勝利幡的人
Will, before long, become very rich.
不久就會變得非常富有。
Possessing a great treasure of infinite insight,
具足無邊智慧的大寶藏,
He will neither be mentally weak nor adopt inferior attitudes.
他既不會心志軟弱,也不會採取下劣的態度。
“Acquiring enjoyments, he will share and enjoy them.
「他會獲得享樂,並與他人分享和享受。
He will be fearless and free from distress.
他將無所畏懼,遠離苦惱。
As a king, he will joyfully share his possessions throughout his villages and land,

And no sentient being will commit evil deeds toward him.

He will abandon all desires as if they were a pit of vomit.

“He will obtain an extraordinary appearance with the marks.

Born into the most eminent families or as a powerful lord,
出生於最尊貴的家族,或成為權勢的領主。
His servants and attendants will never part from him;

He will be followed by many beings.
他將被許多眾生追隨。
“He will never give rise to malice toward others,
他永遠不會對他人產生惡意。
His mind will be excellent, he will always be conscientious, and
他的心念會很優秀,他將會始終保持謹慎警覺,
He will never be harmed by fire, poison, or weapons;
他永遠不會被火、毒藥或武器所傷害;
Instead, he will be attended to by great assemblies of beings.
相反地,他將會受到大眾生的恭敬護持。
“He will joyfully practice the Sage’s Dharma.
他將歡喜地修持牟尼的法。
Alert, he will develop happiness.
他會保持警覺,培養快樂。
His mind will be free from grasping and attachment,
他的心將遠離貪著和貪。
And, free from desire, he will experience no conflict.
而且,遠離欲望,他將不經歷任何衝突。
“His body will be clean and devoid of defilement.
他的身體將會清淨,遠離污垢。
His mind will be pure, and he will speak truthfully.

He will comfort those who are overwhelmed by fear,

The splendor created thereby cannot be depleted,

Since it equals filling this entire buddhafield

To the summit of existence with gold from the Jambū river.

“When someone offers a lamp to the stūpa of a blessed one,

He will never be born with an ugly appearance.

Having attained illumination, he will move about in all the worlds.

“When the sublime victorious ones have appeared,

He will approach these thus-gone ones.

He will become their relative or son,
他將成為他們的親屬或兒子,
And will swiftly attain a mass of wisdom.

“One may count, assess, and declare the number of mustard seeds

Required to fill ten trillion buddhafields completely,

But not the merit created by offering

A single butter lamp to a well-gone one.

“The sublime, peerless buddha is worthy of offerings.
「最殊勝、無上的佛陀,值得供養。
He is a preeminent being engaged in supreme conduct.
他是一位從事最殊勝行的卓越眾生。
One who worships that supreme man
供養那位最殊勝的人
Will experience measureless, sublime results in return.
將獲得無量、最殊勝的果報。
“Even if this entire Sahā world
「即使整個娑婆世界
Were filled to the brim with precious beryl gems, this merit could be depleted.
若充滿琉璃珠寶,此福德亦能耗盡。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
然而,供一盞燈所產生的光輝
To the stūpa of a buddha will never be depleted.
供養佛陀的塔的光輝,永遠不會被消耗盡。
“Even if this entire Sahā world were filled with coins
「即使這整個娑婆世界都充滿了金幣
Up to the summit of existence, this merit could be depleted.
直到存在的最高峰,這份福德也會被耗盡。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
但是供一盞燈所產生的光輝
To the stūpa of a buddha will never be depleted.
向佛陀的塔供奉的福德永遠不會消耗殆盡。
“Even if a thousand buddhafields were filled with sandalwood
即使一千個佛淨土充滿了檀香
Up to the summit of existence, this merit could be depleted.
直到有頂,這福德才會耗盡。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
但是,供奉一盞燈所產生的光輝
To the stūpa of a buddha will never be depleted.
即便用檀香填滿千個佛淨土,直達存在之頂,這福德也會耗盡。但向佛陀的塔獻上一盞燈所產生的光輝,永遠不會消失。
“Even if a thousand buddhafields were filled
"即使一千個佛淨土被填滿
With divine fabric from the Brahmā world, this merit could be depleted.
用梵天界的神聖布匹,這份福德可能會耗盡。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
但是供一盞燈所產生的光輝
To the stūpa of a buddha will never be depleted. [F.261.b]
向佛陀的塔供燈所生的福德,永遠不會消盡。
“Even the merit created by offering many divine substances and precious gems
「即便供奉眾多來自梵天界的神聖布匹和寶石所積累的福德
Of nāgas, asuras, humans, mahoragas, and gods may be depleted.
龍、阿修羅、人、摩睺羅迦和天神所供的福德可能會耗盡。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
但是供一盞燈所創造的光輝
To the stūpa of a buddha will never be depleted.
供養佛陀的塔,其福德永遠不會耗盡。
“Even if this entire Sahā world were filled with the divine fragrances
「即使整個娑婆世界都充滿了神聖的香氣
Present in the worlds of the gods, this merit could be depleted.
這種福德在諸天界中會消耗殆盡。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
但是供一盞燈所產生的光輝
To the stūpa of a buddha will never be depleted.
供奉給佛陀的塔一盞燈所創造的光輝,永遠不會耗盡。
“One could know the extent of all the directions,
「一個人可能知道所有方向的範圍,
And one could even know the extent of space itself.
而且,人們甚至能知曉空間本身的範圍。
But the splendor created by offering a single lamp
但是供一盞燈所產生的光彩
To the stūpa of a buddha can never be depleted.
向佛陀的塔所做的供,永遠不會耗盡。
“When the sublime buddhas, the supreme human beings, appeared,
「當最殊勝的佛陀,無上的人類領袖出現時,
I was devoted to those peerless leaders
我對那些無上的導師們全心皈依
And offered parasols made of malikā flowers to the blessed ones,
並向世尊們獻上由茉莉花製成的傘蓋,
To protect these teachers’ bodies from sunrays.
為了保護這些師的身體免受陽光照射。
“By serving the sublime beings with such beautiful acts,
「透過如此美妙的行為供養至高無上的聖者,」
I was reborn a hundred thousand times as Śakra, lord of the gods,
我被重生為帝釋天(眾神之主)一百萬次。
And as Lord Brahmā, ruling over all the worlds.

Then, by making hundreds of thousands of offerings to the victors’ stūpas,

“I became a powerful king, a universal monarch

I became a wealthy merchant possessing a great fortune,

And anointing them with perfumes in their monasteries.

“Thus, my complexion will never become ugly,

And I will dispel heat, cold, and hardship.

In the presence of the buddhas, I always adopted a superior attitude,

And worshiped them with supreme and sacred offerings.

“Whoever offers beautiful and elegant parasols decorated with ornaments
「凡是供養美麗精緻、飾有莊嚴華飾傘蓋者
To the stūpa of a blessed one
向世尊的塔供養
Will be endowed with an unequalled body,
將獲得無等的身體,
And will wear the armor of the thirty-two marks.
並將穿戴三十二相的甲冑。
“That person will attain the radiant body of the victors,
那個人將獲得勝者的光明身體,
And have a preeminent appearance and mind.
並具備超越眾人的相貌和心靈。
Beautiful and lovely to behold, like the gold of the Jambū river, [F.262.a]
容貌莊嚴美麗,猶如贍部洲的黃金般光彩炫目。
He will be replete with the blooming flowers of the thirty-two marks.
他將具足三十二相如綻放的花朵般圓滿。
“He will possess the superknowledges, be renowned for his power,
「他將具有神通,以其力量而聞名,
And practice supreme awakened conduct‍—sublime and peaceful.
並且修行最殊勝的覺者行——崇高而寂靜。
His possessions will never decrease,
他的財富將永遠不會減少,
And he will be honored and worshiped by the gods.
他將受到諸天的尊敬和供養。
“This steadfast one will have no trouble abandoning desired possessions.
「這位堅定的人將毫無困難地捨棄所欲的財物。
Pure in discipline, he will be highly learned and practice pure conduct.
他戒律清淨,學識淵博,實踐清淨行。
With a strong commitment, he will wander in forests and jungles,
以堅定的誓願,他將在森林和叢林中遊行。
And develop the superknowledges and other extraordinary qualities.
並發展神通及其他殊勝的品質。
“Whoever offers parasols to the stūpas of the blessed ones
「凡是向世尊的塔獻上傘蓋的人
Will never give up the mind set on awakening.
永遠不會放棄菩提心。
He will be loving and free from inferior attitudes,
他將充滿慈愛,遠離卑劣的態度,
And his insight will never decline.
他的智慧將永遠不會退失。
“Whoever worships the supreme among humans with music
「無論誰以音樂供養最殊勝的人類
Will be free from misery and will become a powerful king.
將免除苦難,並成為強大的國王。
In the human world, his voice will be charming,
在人間世界中,他的聲音將會令人歡喜悅耳。
And the sound of it will be full and clear in all aspects.
而且那音聲將會在各個方面都圓滿而清澈。
“Whoever offers music to the stūpa of a blessed one
「誰若向世尊的塔獻供音樂
Will be alert and endowed with flawless eyes and ears.
將會保持警覺,具足無缺的眼根和耳根。
He will be joyful,
他將會感到歡喜,
And his faculty of smell will be supreme.
他的嗅覺將是最殊勝的。
“His tongue will be beautiful and pleasing to behold.
「他的舌頭將會美麗而令人喜悅。
Foremost, it will be supple, pretty, and melodious.
首先,它將是柔軟、漂亮、且聲音優美的。
Like the precious coral of the gods,
如同諸天的珍貴珊瑚,
It will call out in countless millions of sounds.

“Whoever offers music to the stūpa of a blessed one

Will never be born as a snake, without a tongue,

Blind, crippled, or crooked.

Instead, he will be preeminent in body and extremely handsome.

Will never be disrespected

By any gods, nāgas, humans or mahoragas.

Having found relief, he will move about in the worlds.

“Whoever offers music to the stūpa of a blessed one

Will never become a person labeled a paṇḍaka,

Or be struck with leprosy or any other skin disease.
或是患上麻風病或任何其他皮膚疾病。
Instead, he will obtain a body worthy of praise.

“Whoever offers music to the stūpa of a blessed one

Will obtain a long tongue and a large body. [F.262.b]

He will be endowed with a radiant complexion, like a golden statue.

His absorption will be stable, and he will become highly realized.

「無論誰向世尊的塔獻上音樂
Will become the leader of the gods, and Īśvara.
將成為諸天之主,以及大自在天。
If he is born into the human world, he will be joyful,
如果他投生到人間,他將會快樂。
Diligent, and brilliantly conscientious.
精進而且智慧明利。
“Whoever offers music to the stūpa of a blessed one
「無論誰向世尊的塔奉獻音樂
Will not be distressed by anyone
不會被任何人所困擾。
Or spoken to harshly by anyone.
或者被任何人粗暴地對待。
He will abandon all divisive speech and speak honestly.

“Whoever, desiring merit, picks up a broom
「凡是想要獲得福德的人,拿起掃帚
And respectfully sweeps the stūpa of a blessed one
恭敬地清掃世尊的塔
Will not be born with an inferior or filthy body.

Instead, the fragrant scent of sandalwood will waft from his pores.

“Whoever sweeps the stūpa of a blessed one who has passed into nirvāṇa

Will, for billions and trillions of eons,

Obtain preeminent bodies with perfect limbs.

He will be handsome and wear the armor of the marks.

Will obtain supreme, delightful, and fragrant palaces

Made of the most exquisite and extraordinary divine sandalwood,

Without ever feeling desire for them.

Will enjoy the company of ten billion celestial maidens,

Sweet-scented and supremely attractive,

Without ever becoming attached to them.

Will obtain the finest gardens full of ponds,

And blue lotus flowers in full bloom.

Will always be in harmony with his servants and attendants.

With a superior attitude, he will hear the voices of the gods

And the sweet melodies of the goddesses’ songs.

“Whoever sweeps the stūpa of a blessed one who has passed into nirvāṇa
「誰若清掃已進入涅槃的世尊的塔,」
Will, upon taking birth in all his existences,
將在他的每一次轉世中
Know that after he dies, he will not be reborn into the lower realms,
要知道,他死後不會轉生到下三道,
But will instead meet a buddha in the human world. [F.263.a]
反而會在人間遇見一位佛陀。
“Whoever sweeps the stūpa of a blessed one who has passed into nirvāṇa
「無論誰掃拂已涅槃的世尊的塔,
Will deliver pleasant discourses to the gods,
將會向諸天神傳授愉悅的教法。
To establish them in perfect awakened wisdom,
為了將他們建立在圓滿的覺悟智慧中,
And then pass away to be reborn in Jambudvīpa.
然後往生到閻浮提。
“Whoever sweeps the stūpa of a blessed one who has passed into nirvāṇa
「凡是清掃已經進入涅槃的世尊之塔的人,
Will, as soon as he is born, recall countless past eons.
他一旦出生,就會憶起無數過去的劫。
He will honor the buddhas of the past‍—the leaders‍—
他將敬禮過去的佛陀——諸位領導者。
And recall their marks, qualities, and teachings.
並且回憶起他們的相好、德行和教法。
“I shall now explain the benefits
我現在要說明這些利益
Of removing weeds from a stūpa,
清除塔中雜草的好處,
With a wish to be like the buddhas in the world;
懷著想要像世間的佛陀一樣的願望。
So listen sincerely, with a mind free from the stains of afflictions!
所以要認真聽聞,用沒有煩惱污染的心去聽!
“Such a person will, in the future, meet
「這樣的人將來會遇到
The sublime victors‍—those powerful, sublime, and preeminent beings.
那些崇高的勝者——那些強大、崇高和最殊勝的眾生。
He will worship them with the most sublime offerings,
他將以最殊勝的供養來供養他們,
And will always develop sublime faith.
並且將始終培養殊勝的信心。
“Upon meeting the captains, the buddhas with the ten powers,
「遇見導師們,那些具有十力的佛陀,
He will worship those peerless leaders.
他將供養那些無上的導師。
With joy in their hearts, they will prophesy,

‘You will become a buddha who puts on the armor of the marks!’

“Whoever has seen me teaching the Dharma
「凡見我宣說法的人
In the delightful city of Vaiśālī, the supreme abode,
在令人喜悅的毘舍離城中,那最殊勝的住所,
Will, in the future, during the time of decline,
將會在未來末法時代
Uphold the Dharma of the supreme victors who have passed into nirvāṇa.
奉持已經涅槃的最勝者的法。
“Removing weeds from a stūpa
「清除塔中的雜草
Is both the cause and the seed
既是因緣,也是種子
Of wishing to meet the unassailable sublime victors.
希望能夠見到不可攻擊的最殊勝的最勝者。
One will abandon desire, the hells, and the animal realms.
會捨棄欲望、地獄和畜生道。
“When a bodhisattva upholds this supreme sūtra
「當菩薩受持這部最殊勝的經
In the future, during the time of decline,
在未來末法時代,
He will become a preeminent and matchless field of merit,
他將成為最殊勝無比的福德田。
A buddha in the world, a god of gods.
世間的佛陀,諸天之天。
“Those who worship this teaching when I have taught it,
「那些在我傳授此教時供養此教法的人,」
Those who hear this precept that I have taught,
那些聽聞我所傳授的這個戒的人,
Those who memorize this supreme sūtra,
那些能夠背誦這部最殊勝經典的人,
They will uphold it in the future.
他們將在未來堅持守護它。
“Those who henceforth uphold this supreme sūtra
「那些從今以後持守這部最殊勝的經
Will always be my harmonious children.
將永遠是我和諧的孩子。
Even if they were praised by ten million buddhas,
即使被千萬尊佛陀讚歎,
Their praises would never come to an end. [F.263.b]
他們的讚譽永遠不會結束。
“Even if for ten million eons,
「即使經過一千萬劫,
Countless billions and trillions of buddhas were to praise
無數億兆佛陀將讚歎
Those who in the future will uphold the victors’ Dharma,
未來那些將會持守勝者法教的人們,
Their praises could never come to an end.
他們的讚頌永遠不會圓滿。
“Whoever anoints the stūpa of a buddha in the prescribed way,
「無論誰以規定的方式塗抹佛陀的塔,」
With sweet and pleasant perfumes
用香氣芬芳馥郁的香料
Will reach the attainments and move about in all the worlds.
將到達成就,並在所有的世界中遊行。
He will extract what is essential on this earth.

“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「凡是向勝利者的塔獻上香油的人
Will not be reborn in Jambudvīpa

At a time when the blessed ones’ teachings are in decline,
在世尊的教法衰微的時代,
But instead will become a ruler in the higher realms.
而是會在上三道成為統治者。
“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「凡是向勝者的塔供奉香油膏的人
Will forever abandon the smelly, the unclean, and the inferior.
將永遠捨離臭穢、不潔淨和低劣的事物。
Instead, he will observe discipline,
反而會遵守戒律,
And always engage in the supreme pure conduct.
並且永遠從事最殊勝的清淨行。
“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「凡是向勝利者的塔獻上香油膏的人
Will, after he dies, become the lord of gods in the higher realms.
他在去世後,將成為上三道中的天神之主。
Before long, he will conceive myriad aims,
不久之後,他將生起無數的志願,
And he will accomplish the benefit of the gods on a vast scale.
他將會大規模地成就諸天的利益。
“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「誰若向勝者的塔獻供香油
Will always live in Jambudvīpa
將永遠住在閻浮提
At times when beings in the human world
當人世間的眾生
Are free from anger and their minds are gentle and pliable.
遠離瞋怒,心境溫和而柔軟。
“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「凡是向勝利者的塔供養香油膏的人,」
Will be preeminently eloquent and have a delightful voice.
將會口才非凡,聲音令人愉悅。
He will be pleased and honored by many beings,
他將受到眾多眾生的歡喜和尊敬,
And his face will always be luminous.
他的面容將永遠光彩照人。
“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「無論誰向勝者的塔供奉香油膏
Will leave all the lower realms behind,
將遠離下三道。
And will be born close to the thus-gone ones.
將會在如來們的身邊出生。
He will develop faith and will always be happy and joyful.
他將培養信心,並且會常常感到快樂和歡喜。
“Whoever offers scented ointments to the stūpa of a victorious one
「無論誰向勝利者的塔供奉香油,
Will become a powerful king, a universal monarch, and
將成為強大的國王、轉輪聖王,並且
A meritorious minister, merchant, or householder,
一位有福德的大臣、商人或居家者,
As well as a radiant Dharma lord‍—a buddha.
以及一位光耀的法主——佛陀。
“Whoever joyfully and enthusiastically
「無論誰歡喜踴躍地
Offers a jeweled lattice to the stūpa of a blessed one
向世尊的塔奉獻一座寶鑲格子
Will become a king adorned with the armor of the marks,
將成為具有圓滿相好莊嚴的國王。
A powerful, exalted universal monarch.
一位強大、崇高的轉輪聖王。
“Highly regarded and adorned with the armor of the marks, [F.264.a]
「備受尊崇,以殊勝相的甲冑莊嚴其身,
He will enjoy vast, exquisite, and delightful palaces
他將享受廣闊、精美和令人愉悅的宮殿
In an endless variety of colors,
在無盡多樣的色彩中,
And impressive mansions made of precious gems.
以及由寶石所構成的宏偉堂皇的宅第。
“He will obtain preeminent royal palaces
他將獲得卓越的皇家宮殿
Filled with men and women,
充滿了男性和女性。
Proportionate, elegant, exquisite, delightful,
均勻優美、精緻、令人歡喜,
And ornamented with variegated lattices, pleasant, and comfortable.
用各色欄杆裝飾,令人愉悅舒適。
“He will also obtain preeminent royal attributes,

Such as brilliantly majestic victory banners and flags,

Splendid and delightful canopies,

As well as necklaces of pearl.

“No robbers, thieves, deceivers, or wicked people

Will live in his lands.

The people residing in his lands will be open minded,

Intelligent, altruistic, and affectionate.
聰慧、無私、充滿愛心。
“After he dies and transfers, this conscientious one will go to the gods.
「他去世後,這個有良知的人會轉生到諸天神明之處。
While residing in the higher realms, this intelligent person will ponder,
住在上三道時,這位聰慧的人會思考,
‘What conduct should I observe, in terms of good and bad actions,
「我應該遵守什麼樣的行為,在於善惡業行,
To be reborn as a human after I die and transfer?’
我死後轉生為人應該如何?'
“He will swiftly meet the buddhas, who are worthy of offerings,
他將迅速遇見值得供養的佛陀,
And will worship and honor them in ways that cannot be matched.
並將以無可比擬的方式供養和尊敬他們。
Upon meeting the buddhas, he will give rise to the aspiration for awakening,
與佛陀相遇時,他將生起菩提心。
And honor those stainless beings again and again.
並且一次又一次地供養那些無垢的聖者。
“He will be endowed with infinite wisdom and great power,
他將被賦予無限的智慧和偉大的力量,
And be born as a noble being living in distinguished places.

Developing a faithful attitude toward the blessed ones,
對世尊生起信心的態度,
He will experience such excellent circumstances again and again.

“I will now speak about my deeds;

So do not doubt what I say!
所以不要懷疑我的話!
Rejecting the Buddha’s words, you will go to the Hell of Ceaseless Torment,
背棄佛陀的教導,你將墮入無間地獄,
And experience suffering and affliction thenceforth.
並且從此經歷痛苦和苦難。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpas
「無論誰清除塔上的蜘蛛絲
Of those who light up the world‍—the peerless fields of merit‍—
那些照亮世界的人——無上的福德之地——
Will become conscientious and rend Māra’s net.
將會變得謹慎持戒,撕裂魔的網羅。
Such a person will forever abandon birth into the lower realms.
這樣的人將永遠遠離下三道的投生。
“He will always honor the stainless buddhas
他將永遠尊敬無垢的佛陀
And become a powerful universal monarch.
並成為強大的轉輪聖王。
Born in the human world, he will be meritorious, [F.264.b]
生於人道,他將具有福德,
And will become an object of worship for all the kings.
並將成為所有國王供養的對象。
“He will be an object of worship for the lord of the gods,
「他將成為天神之主的供養對象,
And will swiftly attain the life of the gods.
並且將迅速獲得諸天的壽命。
He will obtain splendid celestial palaces made of gold,
他將獲得由黃金製造的壯麗天宮。
And become a lord of incomparable divine pleasures.
並成為無與倫比的諸天樂受的主宰。
“He will reach the divine worlds that are endowed
他將到達具足最殊勝的景象、聲音、氣味、滋味和觸感的諸天界。
With the most excellent sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures.
具備最殊勝的景象、聲音、香氣、滋味和觸覺。
He will be powerful and highly regarded,
他將變得強大而備受尊敬。
But will never give rise to lust toward the goddesses.
但永遠不會對女神產生貪慾。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpa of a blessed one
「無論誰清除世尊塔上的蜘蛛網
Will, after he dies and transfers, proceed to the human world,
他死後轉生時,將會進入人道世界,
Where he will be reborn in distinguished places with firm limbs.
他將在尊貴的地方重生,具有堅實的四肢。
He will always study numerous treatises.
他將始終研習眾多的論著。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpa of a blessed one
「凡是清除世尊塔上的蛛絲網者
Will abandon all eight of the unfree states.
將會放棄所有八種不自由的狀態。
Free from them, he will then enjoy preeminence,
解脫了這些狀態,他將享受殊勝的地位。
And worship the peerless buddhas.
並供養無上的佛陀。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpa of a blessed one
「無論誰從世尊的塔上清除蜘蛛網
Will become a hero‍—conscientious and intelligent.
將成為英勇無畏、精進聰慧的人。
He will not enjoy sense pleasures,
他將不會沉溺於五欲,
And, with a superior intention, he will leave home.
並且,以殊勝的心願,他將捨家出家。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpa of a blessed one
「凡是為世尊的塔清除蛛絲的人
Will never give up the mind set on awakening.
永遠不會放棄菩提心。
Firmly restrained by flawless discipline,
被無缺的戒律牢牢約束著,
He will receive the pure Dharma, which is free from desire.
他將獲得遠離欲望的清淨法。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpa of a blessed one
「凡是為世尊的塔清除蜘蛛網的人
Will abandon births with ugly bodies,
將捨棄醜陋的身體轉生。
Or with any type of distorted insight.
或是任何種類的扭曲的見解。
Instead, his insight will be vast, and he will observe proper conduct.
相反地,他的智慧會廣大,他將遵循正確的行為。
“Whoever removes cobwebs from the stūpa of a blessed one
「無論誰清除世尊塔上的蜘蛛網
Will receive clean and pure food,
將會得到清淨與純淨的食物,
As well as the most splendid, extraordinarily colorful fabrics,
以及最為華麗、色彩繽紛的布匹,
Beautiful to behold and pleasant to touch.
外表美麗,摸起來也很舒適。
“Whoever, out of faith, sweeps the withered flowers
「無論誰,出於信心,掃除枯萎的花朵
That sully the stūpa of a blessed one
污穢世尊的塔
Will abandon all wicked desires that cause suffering,
將會放棄所有造成痛苦的邪惡欲望,
And thus please the captains endowed with the ten powers.
由此而令那些具有十力的導師感到歡喜。
“Whoever sweeps the old flowers from a stūpa
「誰掃除塔上的枯花」
Will be born with a beautiful and perfect body. [F.265.a]
將會獲得美麗圓滿的身體。
He will be worthy of the worship and regard of many beings,
他將值得眾多眾生的供養和尊敬。
And kings will not give rise to malice toward him.
國王們不會對他生起惡意。
“Whoever sweeps from the stūpa of a blessed one
「凡是為世尊的塔掃地的人
The withered flowers that people have previously offered
人們之前供養過的枯萎花朵
Will cut off all the paths to the lower realms,
將斷絕所有通往下三道的道路,
And become a bodhisattva who observes discipline.
並成為持守戒律的菩薩。
“Whoever sweeps the old flowers from a stūpa
「無論誰清掃塔上的舊花
Will become conscientious and leave behind all misery and faults,
將會變得謹慎認真,拋棄所有苦難和過失,
And all the many forms of sickness.
以及各種各樣的疾病。
He will find relief for countless eons.
他將在無數劫中獲得解脫。
“Whoever sweeps the old flowers from a stūpa
"無論誰清掃塔上的舊花
Will become a buddha, a peerless object of offerings.
將成為佛陀,是無上的供養對象。
On that unequalled level, he will be worthy of the worship of gods and humans,
在那無等的境界上,他將值得天人的供養。
And will obtain a perfect body adorned with ornaments.
將會獲得圓滿的身體,以莊嚴的飾品妝點。
“Those who offer beautiful, divine mandārava flowers,
「那些供獻美麗、殊勝的曼陀羅花的人,
Or incomparable trumpet-flowers,
或無等的喇叭花,
As well as those who sweep the flowers that sully a stūpa,
以及那些清掃玷污塔的花朵的人,
Will experience the same supreme results when their actions ripen.
當其行為成熟時,將體驗到相同的最殊勝的果報。
“Whoever sweeps old flowers from a stūpa
「無論是誰清掃塔上凋謝的花朵
Will not be harmed by poison, weapons,
不會被毒藥、武器所傷害,
Or by great masses of blazing fire,
或者不會被熊熊烈火的巨大火焰所傷害,
Nor will thieves steal his accumulated wealth.
盜賊也不會偷取他積累的財富。
“When someone, out of joy and delight, sweeps withered flowers
「當某人出於喜悅和歡樂,掃除枯萎的花朵
From the stūpa of a blessed one,
從世尊的塔,
It is not easy to quantify the amount of merit created thereby,
由此所生的福德,數量難以計量。
Nor is it easy to describe even a portion of it.
也難以述說其中一部分。
“Whoever sweeps old flowers from a stūpa
「無論誰掃除塔上的舊花
Will wear the armor of the thirty-two marks.
將穿戴三十二相的盔甲。
Always joyful in the human world,
在人間世中,常常歡喜。
He will be powerful and possess a pleasant voice.
他將會具有力量,並擁有悅耳的聲音。
“Whoever sweeps old flowers from a stūpa
「凡是掃淨塔上枯萎花朵的人
Will genuinely practice the supreme, sublime Dharma,
將會真實修習最殊勝、殊妙的法,
And his body will be perfect and large.
他的身體將會完美且宏偉。
Before long, he will become a buddha in the world.
不久之後,他將成為世間的佛陀。
“Whoever joins his palms together and prostrates to the stūpa of a teacher,
「無論誰合掌禮拜師的塔,
With the aspiration to become a buddha in the world,
懷著在世間成為佛陀的願望,
Will be respected and honored in the worlds,
將在諸世界中受到尊敬和恭敬。
And he will be beautiful and pleasing to behold.
他將會擁有美麗的容貌,令人喜悅。
“Through these actions he will obtain a kingdom, and the entire world‍—
「通過這些行為,他將獲得一個王國,以及整個世界——」
Gods, nāgas, humans, and mahoragas‍—will bow down to him. [F.265.b]
諸神、龍、人和摩睺羅迦——都會向他禮敬。
He will gain control over his kingdom,

As a lord extending his rule over an entire chiliocosm.
如同一位統治者掌控整個千世界。
“All the people living in his lands

Will be established in perfect awakened wisdom.

He will leave the lower realms behind
他將超越下三道
And accomplish the supreme, sublime benefit of those beings.
並且成就那些眾生最殊勝、最崇高的利益。
“He will be meritorious, intelligent, mindful, and worthy of worship.
他將具有福德、聰慧、正念,且堪受供養。
Having found relief, he will move about in all the worlds.
獲得解脫後,他將在所有世界中遊歷。
His servants and attendants will have pleasant voices,
他的僕人和侍者將擁有令人愉悅的聲音,
And he will please them in accordance with their wishes.
他將會按照他們的願望來取悅他們。
“To others he will teach words of carefulness and peace,
「他將向他人傳授謹慎和平安的言語,
And nobody will overpower him.
沒有人能夠勝過他。
He will be highly regarded by many beings,
他會受到許多眾生的高度尊重。
And even his servants will speak in voices pleasant in all aspects.
他的僕人們也都會用各方面都令人愉悅的聲音說話。
“Whoever joins his palms together and prostrates to the stūpa of a buddha
「誰無論在何時向佛陀的塔合掌頂禮
Will be generous, speak pleasantly, act meaningfully,
將會變得慷慨、言辭溫和、行為有意義,
And accomplish the benefit of many beings.
並成就利益眾多眾生的功德。
Even if he is abused or criticized, he will never become angry.
即使他遭到辱罵或批評,他也絕不會生氣。
“Whoever joins his palms together and prostrates to the stūpa of a buddha
「凡是合掌禮拜佛陀的塔的人
Will come to reside in the higher realms as the lord of the gods.
將會來到上三道居住,成為諸神之主。
Even if he is born among humans, he will become their king.
即使他生而為人,也會成為他們的國王。
His status will never decline.
他的地位將永遠不會衰退。
“Whoever joins his palms together and prostrates to the stūpa of a buddha
「無論誰向佛陀的塔合掌禮拜,
Will never again fall into the lower realms.
將永遠不會再墮入下三道。
He will always abandon desire in this world,
他將常常捨棄這個世界中的欲望。
And will be rich, prosperous, and affluent.
並且會變得富有、繁榮和殷實。
“Whoever speaks a single word to someone with excellent qualities
「誰向具有優異品質的人說一句話
Will never employ improper magical spells
永遠不會運用不當的咒語
Or behave inappropriately in the human world.
或者在人間行為不當。
Such a person will please those who are discontent.
這樣的人將使不滿足的人感到高興。
“Whoever stands at his front door, enthusiastically strewing flowers
「誰在他的前門站立,熱情地撒下花朵
On a protector of the world as he passes through the city,
在世界的保護者經過城市時,
Which resounds with pleasing music,
這句話充滿了悅耳的音樂聲。
Will adorn and behold that sublime victor.
將裝飾並得見那位崇高的勝利者。
“In his own home, he will venerate the one with the ten powers.
在自己的家中,他將尊崇具有十力的聖者。
He will offer food and hear the excellent Dharma.
他將供養食物並聽聞殊勝的法。
Faith arising in him, he will venerate the supreme human
信心在他心中生起,他將恭敬最殊勝的人
By offering fabrics to that great guide with this aspiration:
以這樣的願心向那位偉大的引導者供奉布匹:
“ ‘Having attained the unequalled and supreme awakening of buddhahood, [F.266.a]
「證得了無等的、最殊勝的佛陀覺悟,
May I be endowed with the ten powers and become unshakable.
願我具備十力,成為堅不可摧。
May I liberate beings from suffering into the awakening of buddhahood,
願我將眾生從苦難中解救出來,進入佛陀的覺悟。
And become a peerless buddha in all the worlds!’
在一切世界中成為無上的佛陀!
“Knowing that he takes joy in awakened wisdom,
「了知他於覺悟的智慧中欣喜,
Expressed through this kind of aspiration,
透過這樣的願力而表達,
The one endowed with the ten powers will smile and prophesy,
具足十力的佛陀將會微笑並做出預言,
‘You will become a buddha unequalled in all the worlds.’
「你將成為遍滿一切世界中無等的佛陀。」
“After hearing this prophecy from the supreme, sublime being,
「在聽到最殊勝、最崇高的存在所作的授記之後,
These words of the supreme well-gone one are irrevocable.
最殊勝的善逝所說的這些話是不可更改的。
Free from doubt, this person thinks, ‘I shall be a supreme victor!’
這個人沒有疑惑地思考:「我將成為最勝者!」
Overjoyed and happy, he will then ascend into space.
歡喜快樂,他隨後將升入虛空。
“Knowing that this person will become a god of gods in the world,
「知道這個人將成為世間諸神之神,
A buddha who is a preeminent and unequalled object of offerings,
一位最殊勝且無等的供養對象的佛陀,
And knowing this person’s thoughts and the reason for his joy,
並且知曉這個人的思想和他歡喜的原因,
The one endowed with the ten powers will accept the offerings.
具足十力者將接受供養。
“Seeing that the supreme well-gone one has accepted the fabrics,
「看見最殊勝的善逝已經接受了布匹,
He will be overjoyed and delighted.
他將會欣喜踴躍,歡樂無比。
Then, looking at the peerless protector of the world,
然後,看著這位無上的世界保護者,
He will develop the aspiration to become a buddha in the world and say:
他將發起成為世間佛陀的願心,並說:
“ ‘I will liberate beings from the cycle of birth and death,
「我將使眾生從生死輪迴中獲得解脫,
And free many beings from their conditioned states.
並且解脫許多眾生脫離有為法。
In all the worlds I will give sight to the blind.
在所有的世界裡,我將給予盲人光明。
Having gained illumination, their darkness and obscurity will be gone.’
獲得光明後,他們的黑暗和昏暗就會消失。
“Therefore, having now heard these sublime benefits,
「因此,現在聽到了這些殊勝的利益,
You should worship the protectors with flower garlands, victory banners,
你應當以花環、勝利幡供養護法。
Fine garments, music, parasols, ointments, and incense,
上等衣服、音樂、傘蓋、膏油和香。
And awaken to the state of buddhahood!”
並且覺悟到成佛的境地!

1.286When the Blessed One had spoken those words, the monks and the bodhisattvas such as Pure Intellect, as well as the world with all its gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said.
