1.1Homage to the youthful Mañjuśrī!

1.1頂禮年少的文殊菩薩！

With a pure heart,

以清淨的心，

Bowing my head to the Sage,

我頂禮聖者，

Here I will recite the names

我將在此誦念這些名號

The buddhas have praised.

諸佛所稱讚。

Beautiful in form, physically handsome,

容貌美麗，身體英俊，

Yours unexcelled among all bodies,

您在所有色身中無與倫比，

All attributes complete,

所有功德圓滿，

Mañjuśrī, gloriously excellent, [F.126.b]

文殊菩薩，光耀殊妙，

Inconceivable, free from thought,

無法思議，超越念慮，

Heroic, beyond thought, wondrous,

英勇無思，奇妙殊勝，

Inconceivable in body, speech, and deed,

身語意不可思議，

And inconceivable in mind, too,

心意亦難以思議，

Meditation-on-emptiness in essence,

本質為空性觀想，

Endowed with empty qualities,

具足空性特質，

Ardent in devotion to emptiness,

熱忱於空性的修行者，

Teaching the emptiness of all three existences,

闡教三種存在的空性，

All knowing and all seeing,

遍知遍見，

Powerful lord over all lands,

統掌一切土地的大能主宰，

Supreme among all sentient beings,

所有眾生中最崇高的聖者，

The one to whom all sentient beings have paid homage,

所有眾生都向其禮敬的那一位

Vanquisher of all states of misery

克服一切痛苦境界者

And all who propound misleading views,

以及所有宣揚邪見者。

Defeater of opponents,

戰勝對手的人，

Lion of speech, supreme among humans,

獅子般的言語，人中之最，

Free from defiling passions and afflictions,

遠離煩惱和痛苦的人。

One without obscuration or taint,

無垢無障礙者，

Rescuer of all sentient beings,

救度一切眾生者，

Liberated and world liberator,

解脫者及世間解脫者，

Practicing the ascetic discipline of wearing dreadlocks and muñja,

修持穿著髮髻和穆奴草的苦行戒律，

Brahmā, dwelling in the abode of Brahmā,

梵天，居住在梵天的居所，

Holding a rosary and bearing a staff,

持著念珠，背負著手杖，

Pure and endowed with the purities,

清淨且具備各種清淨特質。

Gentle voiced, exercising dominion,

聲音柔和，行使主宰。

Lotus born and lotus eyed,

蓮花化生、蓮花眼睛，

Your color lotus-anther-like,

您的色相如蓮花花藥般。

Lotus throned,

蓮花座上的聖者，

Immaculate, bearing a blue lotus,

清淨無垢，手持青蓮花，

Your intention pure, your mind at peace,

你的心意清淨，你的思想安寧，

You are a buddha and a pratyekabuddha.

你是佛和辟支佛。

You are the Ādibuddha,

你是原始佛，

Endowed with miraculous power, possessing dominion,

具足神通力，擁有支配權，

The teacher of the four truths,

四聖諦的教導者，

The protector of the world, thousand eyed.

世界的保護者，千眼者。

You are Īśvara, you are the lord of all beings,

你是大自在天，你是所有眾生的主宰。

And you are Śiva the tamer of sentient beings.

你是濕婆天，馴伏眾生者。

Sovereign of all who is foremost in virtue,

一切眾生之主，德行最卓越者，

You are the dominant bull, the foremost being,

你是主宰的公牛，是最殊勝的眾生，

The preeminent, the one who remembers past lives,

最殊勝的，那位憶念前世的。

The leader, the tamer,

領導者，調伏者，

The victor’s child, the one born from the Victor himself.

勝者之子，由勝者自身所生。

You are the thousand-rayed sun,

你是千光日輪，

You are the moon and Jupiter,

你是月亮和木星，

You are Vaiśravaṇa and Varuṇa,

你是毘沙門天，也是水天，

You are Maheśvara, you are Viṣṇu,

你是大自在天，你是毘紐天，

You are Ananta king of nāgas, [F.127.a]

你是無邊龍王，

And, similarly, you are Skanda the commander,

同樣地，你是室建陀（戰神），是軍隊的統帥，

Vemacitra the lord of asuras,

毘摩質多羅阿修羅之主，

Mars, Mercury, Venus,

火星、水星、金星、

Saturn, all the heroic deities,

土星、所有的勇猛本尊、

The one to whom all gods paid homage,

受到所有天神禮敬的那位。

Untainted by worldly things.

不被世俗之物所染污。

You are the person supreme in the worlds,

你是諸世間中至高無上的人。

Knower of worlds, realizer of worlds,

世間的知者，世間的證悟者，

Holiest of the wise,

最聖潔的智者，

Bestower of boons, abode, and refuge,

恩德的施予者、安住之地和庇護所，

Beyond the reach of Māra’s works,

超越魔的作為之外，

Devoid of misdeed, profound,

遠離過失，深邃無邊，

The renowned spiritual friend.

著名的精神友伴。

You are the physician who removes thorns,

你是拔除荊棘的醫者，

The supreme charioteer of humans to be tamed,

馴服眾生的至高御者，

Astute and realized,

聰慧且圓滿者，

Intelligent and adept,

聰慧而精通。

You are possessed of merit, the wish-fulfilling tree,

具有福德，如願樹。

Adorned with the blossoms of the factors of awakening,

用覺支的花朵裝飾莊嚴，

Replete with liberation’s fruit,

圓滿解脫的果實，

The supreme embodied being,

至尊的化身者，

Lovely and captivating,

可愛迷人，

Faultless and chaste.

無瑕無垢且清潔。

You are the comet and the greatest of heavenly bodies.

您是彗星，是天體中最偉大的。

You are the seer foremost among sages.

你是最傑出的見者，在所有聖賢中最卓越。

You have been consecrated as crown prince.

你已被冊立為太子。

Foremost sovereign of the ten bhūmis,

十地的至高主宰，

Caravan leader, best of beings,

商隊領袖，眾生中最殊勝者，

Revealing supreme nirvāṇa,

顯現至高的涅槃，

You are like the sky, earth, and water.

你如同天空、大地和水。

You are like fire and wind.

你如同火和風。

You are like a wish-fulfilling jewel,

你如同如意寶珠，

Fulfilling the hopes of sentient beings.

滿足眾生的希望。

O you to whom all living beings pay homage‍—

啊，眾生都向你禮敬的尊者—

Precious one, we bow to you.

珍貴的聖者，我們向您頂禮。

Mañjuśrī spoke, saying oṃ vākyedaṃ namaḥ svāhā.

文殊菩薩說道，唵，言語咒，南無，娑婆訶。

If one retains the names thus spoken

若有人能守持如是所說的名號

Together with the vidyāmantra,

連同明咒一起，

One accomplishes the purification of one’s sins.

能夠成就淨化自身的罪業。

A person who recites, three times a day,

一個人如果每天三次念誦，

These eight-more-than-a-hundred names

這一百零八個名號

Is certain to attain their many wishes

必定能夠成就他們的眾多願望

In just the way they want them.

完全如他們所希望的那樣。

If they recollect the felicitous names,

如果他們憶念這些吉祥的名號，

Any terrible acts that have been performed

所有曾經做過的可怕惡行

That equal those of immediate retribution

相當於當下報應的

Will be swiftly purified. [F.127.b]

將會迅速得到淨化。

Remembering thus when great frights arise

當大恐懼出現時，這樣憶念

In transition to the world beyond,

在轉往來世時，

Those purified sentient beings

那些已得淨化的有情眾生

Will directly encounter Mañjughoṣa.

將直接面見妙音。

The intelligent who, upon remembering,

聰慧的人，當他們回憶起時，

Compose themselves and recite

安定自心誦持

Will attain buddhahood if they so desire.

如果他們願意，將會成佛。

Of this there is no doubt.

對此沒有任何疑問。
